A week had passed with the training was brutal. Tsu'tey was trying to make up for lost time and that meant you were going through hell.
"Okay Ma'Y/N. Let us start with your evading."
"Evading? I did evade techniques with Neytiri and Jake I think?"
"Good." He nodded, but his ear flattened at the remembrance of how you sought a new teacher.
"Can't we just have an easy day?"
Tsu'tey raised an eyebrow, "This is easy."
"Easy for you.ā
-
Tsu'tey broke the silence as he circled you, "How often did you play with the 'evengs? Eyayng was asking to play pa'li race."
Your heart broke a little, you had completely forgotten about the clan children while trying to avoid Tsu'tey, and now with actually being trained with him. You hadn't seen them in passing either. Of course you wouldn't play with them all the time but when they were lonely they would come to you, intrigued by the uniltƬranyu.
"Uh yeah, I played with her often. PƤkat doesn't like pa'li racing, so he'll often shoo her away when he's playing with SraihƤk." She was the first of the children to ask to play, shaking with fear in every ounce of her being - you could only imagine what she was told about humans.
You retold the memory of the shaking leaf of a child to Tsu'tey, dodging left as Tsu'tey lept towards you, "After that, more and more kids that were lonely, or needed help, went to find me, all because of Eyayng. She is a very kind hearted child." You put your hand up, signaling a break. Huffing and puffing for air, hunched over, you definitely needed a rest.
He smiled, indulging in your reminiscing. His mind drifted to the siblings, Eyayng and PƤkat were sweet kids. It's not surprising they would be the first ones to try and talk to the dream-walker. His stomach churned at his past actions of excluding you from training. He closed the gaped, grabbing the paysmung(water carrier) and handing it to over. Snatching it, you drank as if you have crossed the dessert without of ounce of water, listening as your karyu spoke,"They are NƤe's eveng. She is Ninat's sister."
It was surprising but at the same time not at all, Ninat was the only one willing to teach you weaving. She was very nice and lovely, it wasn't surprising her sister or her niece and nephew were just like her.
As you handed the paysmung back to him, he too drank. You watched as some of the water spilled from the corner of his mouth. The drops of water trickled down his throat to his chest, you turned your head.
-
You stood to the side of Tsu'tey, as the both of you waited for his students. You looked down, the grass beneath your feet. You tailed swished to the side as you body tensed at the thought of the other students. As if Tsu'tey was able to hear the thoughts running through your head, he crossed his arms in front of his chest, the scowl he always had in place once again, "Do not show fear. Stand strong, you are Na'vi now ā be Na'vi."
You huffed but nodded nonetheless, standing taller but a racing heart. He smirked, noticing you had started to copy some mannerisms. His stomach tingled at the thought of that. He flinched, you swayed your tail right into his; he huffed but didn't comment.
Again. Again. "Stop Y/N. You will be fine."
"Sorry⦠I feel like I will vomit." You avoided his gaze, fiddling with your wrist band.
One more hit, and Tsu'tey wrapped his tail around yours, "Mawey. Mawey." He slowly moved closer to you, tails still loosely tangled. When his shoulder touched yours, you froze; his skin felt warm and tender.
A shaky breath was given while Tsu'tey gently nudged you, looking into his yellow eyes you nodded, "Thank you."
"You are welcome my demon."
Your stomach flipped at his words and as he shifted back to his past proximity, the heat from him was missed. Moments past as you saw the the three other students; laughing as one pushed another, and the other tripped.
"Gather."
They were quick to follow Tsu'tey's words. 'Deep breath in; deep breath out.'
-
"Demon!" Your ears shifted to the sound right on you. Nepxa -was her name if you remembered correctly - strolled up to you, holding a whittled yerik. PƤkat would bring the supplies to whittle, eager that you had took him up on the offer to learn. It couldn't hurt learning another skill at least.
"My name is Y/N. Not demon. I will not answer to that again."
She scoffed, rolling her eyes, "Demon." You had your back turned to her, examining the roots of the tree, "Demon!" She shouted this time, letting out a growl she roughly yanked your shoulder.
You stumbled back, turning to face her from the force. You rolled your eyes again, "Y/N." You saw the yerik in her hand finally, remembering SraihƤk wanted one whittled. "Is that SraihƤk's yerik?"
"He told me he got it from the uniltƬranyu," she sneered at the last word. This must be SraihƤk's sister.
"Yes, PƤkat taught me to whittle since SraihƤk wanted to play hunt. When I got decent, SraihƤk requested a yerik."
"Why are you talking to the children? Trying to steal children for the other demons!"
You wouldn't put that accusation past the RDA, you could understand the fear. "No, Eyayng asked me to play with her, since then the other children ask me to play when they are bored. Intrigued by the dream-walker I suppose."
"They seek you out?" She could see how their interest was piqued by the uniltƬranyu, especially since it was known you are a sky-person healer.
"Yes, the shaded tree I sit and watch from has been declared the uniltƬranyu spot. More like daycare now I suppose."
"You take care of them?" She asked in disbelief, why would a sky-person care for the children of the clan. They didn't care before, so why now?
"I suppose yeah, I won't shoo them away, curiosity is good. And rather keep an eye on them then have them too deep in the forest when they're bored."
"They go deep in the forest?"
"Some of the slightly older kids do, trying to catch scent of animals. When I run into them I usually scare them so they run back."
Nepxa chuckled, "I'm sure with tales about the other demons." She looked down at the yerik, "Is SraihƤk behaving? He has trouble listening and sharing."
Another shrug, "He is young still, all kids have a problem with sharing." Nepxa's anger was gone, now feeling silly about the accusations she hurled at you. Sensing the feeling, you continued, "He is safe when he is with me, but I can send them back home if that makes you feel better."
"He says you speak funny words?"
"Not everything I say is in Na'vi, I talk to myself when doing whittling in English."
She nodded her head, the wooden yerik still in her clutch. She stared at it before making her gaze back on you. "Would you like to train before karyu Tsu'tey comes?"
You gave a soft smile at the offer of an olive branch, "Yes, that would be fun."
As the day grew slightly darker, slightly colder, slightly more serene is when Tsu'tey finished the practice for the day. You waved to Nepxa, promising to find her when the kids 'bother' yous so you do not have to deal with them alone. She was probably still hesitant; at least you thought that - but when Tsu'tey had the students do pa'li races and other game it was draining with all four of them - she didn't want you dealing with all that energy by yourself.
Tsu'tey watched the exchange, nodding to himself, proud that his uniltƬranyu numeyu was finding her place. He walked up to you, gently touching your shoulder to alert of his presence. When you noticed it was Tsu'tey, your face flushed darker - this did not go unnoticed by Nepxa as when she gave one final wave goodbye.
-
On the third day after Nepxa's offer to help babysit, she was took up on it. After training had ceased for the day, with Tsu'tey calling back one of the other students about his archery. From your usual shaded spot behind the tree did Eyayng emerge from, holding her pa'li toy, afraid once again.
Nepxa nudged your shoulder, as you were preoccupied watching Tsu'tey. Whipping around, you saw Eyayng and offered her that small soft smile, "Yes ma'Eyayng?"
She looked over at Nepxa - use to seeing her grabbing her little brother and chucking him over her shoulder when he'd get in trouble - who was giving her a smile of her own. "Can we play pa'li race?"
You grinned, sore and achy and just wanting to rest, but nodded. "Come. Nepxa will play with us, she said she's the best around."
Eyayng huffed, "I'm the best, I beat my brother all the time!"
You shrugged as Nepxa laughed behind her hand at Eyayng fury, "Then come on, let's see if you can beat her."
Tsu'tey watched, as his student finally left after hearing the notes he had to offer. He watched as Eyayng tear up as Nepxa did beat her, as you put her on your back running around, as Eyayng squawked like an ikran since she was so high up now. He stayed, rooted in his spot entranced by you. And as Nepxa gave a hearty laugh as you tumbled down after Eyayng fidgeted so much she started to slip, she saw as Tsu'tey watched; not all of them, eyes focused on you, and only on you.
Nepxa quieted her laugh, watching the future clan leader start to smile as you helped the little girl up. It was no real secret the betrothed arrangement was for duty, not for love any more, but it was still an arrangement set by the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik. She turned, watching you as you threw Eyayng in the air, telling her to flap her wings to fly. Her focus on your hands; the extra finger.
She heard steps as you put the 'eveng down, not much energy left to spare after training. Nepxa already knew who it was, who else could it really be. She watched the smile creep on you face as Tsu'tey "criticized" your height in throwing. She watched as you challenged him to do better, which he did, throwing her higher. She watched as you chuckled at Eyayng sequel, unused to the type of height now.
Nepxa sucked in a breath as you smiled at the Eyktan and blushed when he gave his canine grin back. His lingering glance was noticed too, the way his eyes sought after you made Nepxa turn her head to look away.
She had to be wrong, right? Could she even ask Y/N and get the truth. Who else would know what is going on between them⦠besides another uniltƬranyuā¦
-
Nepxa observed as you drew in a breath, observed as your chest rose then fell, observed as the arrow struck the pekavol(octofin fish). You gave thanks to Ewya, for the bountiful hall of fish for the training and the kids that promised to stop by. She blinked back to reality, missing what you had said, "What?"
You smiled at her absentminded response, not taking offense, "I asked are you hungry now?"
Two locs fell in front of her face, which she quickly pushed back behind her ear, "Oh, I suppose."
"Let use share one?"
She nodded, still in the realm in between the present and her mind. She unfocused her eyes as she stared at the fire being made by you. You skewered the fish, putting it to the fire to gently roast.
Nexpa sucked in a breath, 'Now or never I suppose.' She looked up at you, "Ma'Y/N?"
"Hm?" was all you replied as you kept an eye on the food.
"Have you anyone in mind to court?" She let her gaze wander behind you, to the village.
Of all the questions or comments ever to be said, that was not on your radar. Your blood turned cold, why was she asking this? You let a little breath out, calming the raging storm in your head, "No. Not many like me still."
"Oh," was all that could be blurted from her, for a split second she forgot you were human; a skyperon, a dreamwalker⦠not Na'vi. Her eyes sought out yours, but they were cast down watching the fire dance. "Well, is there anyone you are interested in?"
You gave a pitiful shrug, not wanting to answer. Yes Nepxa was your first real Na'vi friend you made by yourself, but to expose that you were infatuated with the future Olo'eyktan may be a bit much for the new friendship. "No," you desperately needed to change the subject, "what of you though? Anyone you want to court or be courted by?"
Nepxa blushed, ducking her head. She was so focused on what might be transpiring between you and the karyu she didn't expect you to question her. "Yes, but it will not be possible."
"Why not?"
"He is⦠unfriendly⦠to say the least."
"To you?"
"Hm, less than to others. He is surly."
"Oh. Hm." The only person that came to mind -besides Tsu'tey- was Ki'arin. Word of mouth was he was just rude in to everyone. Judging based on that embarrassment and lack of description, it was just a hunch right now, "Ki'arin?"Nepxa sucked in a breath as she whirled her head up to look at you. "Ah it is him." She waited to breathe, waited for your verdict. "I suppose if he is nicer to you he may reciprocate, a chance wouldn't be too far fetched to assume."
"He is⦠gentle with me. Always looking out out me since we were younger, and still does."
You smiled at the thought of little Nepxa,"How did you become friends?."
"Hmm. We have been friends since we were 3 and 4. Another child took me toy and Ki'arin got it back for me?"
"Childhood friends to lovers I see."
"I would not say childhood friends. I⦠lingered while he played with his friends."
"But you said he was always nicer to you then he was with others?"
"Yes, he is."
"Then I think he either sees you as a friend or someone to court. Why waste kindness to someone you do not like, especially since Ki'arin isn't said to be the nicest Na'vi."
Nepxa raised an eyebrow at the 'jab' about her friend not being nice but didn't not comment about it's truth, the thought of you and Eykutan seemingly gone from her mind. The trees shuffled, making both pair of eyes shot to the sound. Iwom emerged, huffing as he spot the two of you.
"I have been searching a long time! Why did you go all over the village to get fish!"
You laughed as he continued to puff out air when suddenly the same trees shuffled again. It was Etxu, raising an eyebrow at his fellow classmates. "What are you doing? Karyu Tsu'tey sent me to find you. You took too long to find them."
"Oh has training started?"
"Now yes. When he sent Iwom, there was plenty of time."
Iwom threw his arms up dramatically, "They went everywhere! It was hard to track overlapping scents."
"You did not think to start at the river banks ma'Iwom?" The question was left hanging in the air, as Iwom blushed. You took that as a no, he did not think to start fishing spots. Etxu sighed at his friends air-headed thinking.
-
Jake turned, the feeling of eyes have been following him since he connected. It wasn't Y/N, she was off with Tsu'tey doing archery again. Neytiri had been with him earlier, only leaving to talk to the Tsahik. He couldn't help but look around but it seemed there was no one there. Crrrk. A tree branched snapped, his eyes shot up to the tree. Up there was a Na'vi, analyzing him; his every move, every breath, every fiber of his being. She looked familiar; her hair in thin locs and tied up, her green shawl with an intricate pattern woven through the thicker grass, and her pxawpxun was oddly shaped. There was three cuffs, all small in size connected thought one line. Her attire was ever so different from the other Na'vi's. There was mark on her cheek.
She jumped down, slowly rising as she examined Jake. "Um can I help you?"
Nepxa circled him, before deciding what to say, "You are friend of Y/N yes?"
He nodded, slow and unsure, "Yeah⦠Why?"
She paused - she was worried about you and Tsu'tey but after watching Jake with Neytiri this could be for the best. But she had to know how far this infatuation went, and if it was something more then she will have support Y/N in what ever she decided. She leaned a bit closer, "Y/N and Tsu'tey⦠does she⦠are they courting?"
Jake's heart froze, he genuinely thought he died in that moment. "What?" Maybe he heard wrong, she was whispering and the forest was as loud as ever, yes that is it. He heard her wrong, obviously.
She glanced around, nervous for the words to be heard by anyone, "Are they courting?"
He felt the bile rise to his throat, he cleared his throat worried her may actually throw up. He felt light headed. This is bad, very bad. "What? No! He uh just feels bad for being a dick earlier."
Nepxa didn't know the word he uttered but she knew that her karyu wasn't the warmest to Y/N in the beginning. She nodded her head, "Thank you."
As she left, Neytiri paused at the information. She knew someone was watching, they were hard to hear at first but the trees will talk if you listen closely. She "left," waiting out the other person, mildly surprised to find the born Sarentu raised Omatikaya; Nexpa. She thought of the words said: courting. Not, does Y/N like Tsuātey? No. Nepxa asked if they were courting, meaning if one was smitten the other was too. Tsu'tey had to reciprocate the feelings Y/N had.
She sighed, watching as the clan lived their everyday lives. She did not want to be Tsahik, she did not want to be Tsuātey's mate, but ⦠she did not want to disappoint her people. She thought back to Tsu'tey, who seemed to have changed back to his old self. Not the one who's heart was closed off, not the one who's life was turned upside down. No. Someone who still had love to give and love to receive.
Y/N was good for Tsu'tey, and by extension the village. He needed someone strong but some who balances out his hard headed-ness. Some who was gentle and patience. Y/N would be a fine match for Tsu'tey, a fine addition to the clan.
-
As the pod pushed open, Jake gasped for breath. The memory of Nepxa was continuous in his mind. His gaze fell on to Norm, who just so happened to be Y/N other human friend, whom she shared much with.
-
"So how's training?" You looked up from the book herbs you had made, seeing Norm and Jake ahead of you.
You shrugged, "Not to bad now I guess."
They looked suspiciously happy, and that was never a good sign. Jake wheeled a little closer, as Norm continued to hover, "Well a little, not so little, birdy told me you might like a certain brooding future leader."
Your eyes immediately latched to Norm, hand in surrender, "Wasn't me, butā¦, "he trailed off looking at the surprisingly interesting metal door.
"But?"
"When he asked, after who ever told him, I may or may have not confirmed it."
Maybe the training in the avatar body was somehow rubbing off on this body, the pillow you threw at Norm's face was unexpectedly fast. His head knocked back, and as Jake was distracted one was thrown at him too.
"Ow. What the fuck was that for?"
"For meddling in business that is not yours."
He scoffed at the accusation, "Not my business? You are my business, I brought you to the Omaticaya and now you have a crush on the future leader?" His voice was laced in sarcasm and hypocrisy.
"Oh. Right because getting lost was definitely a ploy to get accepted to the Omaticaya not you being a dumb ass. I'm sorry, is only one of us allowed to have a crush on their teacher at a time? Is my time up? Are you going to keep pinning for Neytiri?"
Jake grew warm as that comment, "At least I'm not so obvious that one of the Na'vi comes to question another sky-person!"
You paused at the information, "What?"
"Your little friend, Nepxa? Asked if you and Tsu'tey have always been so smiley, so touchy, so flirty! Okay? Sorry I'm worried that your being a little too obvious with this crush."
You rolled you eyes at him, "Well when you stop having the hots for Neytiri I'll stop having the hots for Tsu'tey. Okay?"
The sarcasm and hostility almost made Jake flinch, never mind Norm who decided that the dishes were fascinating and needed to be done. He sighed, lowering his voice, "I just don't want to see you hurt okay? Can we both drop the bitchy act and just talk? Please?"
You were a little more composed and calm compared to Jake, but liking Tsu'tey was a touchy subject - you could see why Nepxa was hesitant to ask, while that and because he already had a betrothed and who better to ask then the other uniltƬranyu. You rubbed your hands over your face, and nodded, "Okay fine. What did you want to tell me?"
"Just⦠just be careful okay? It wasn't too long ago that he wanted you dead, okay? And try not to be so obvious yeah? If it noticeable to one of his students then maybe all of them are noticing it."
"Okay. Okay. Yeah. But you too okay? All those innuendoes aren't exactly 'saint' worthy okay?"
His blue eyes turned away, gently patting your thigh, "Yeah I know, I'll dial it back."
"So, are we all friends again?" Another pillow was somehow thrown at Norm, and oh would you look at that it was actually two pillows.

Having larger scars gets rlly interesting especially when u deal with heat often. Like scars react dramatically to heat (specifically water??? Like ik I boil myself when I bathe for my joints but omg it looks like a allergic reaction or rash sometimes)
Movie-verse Frostbug kinda eats
For the love of god people please-
Tank is NOT a part of the redacted mates, Sam is.
Sure, Tank is a listener character, but theyre a werewolf not the mate
The reason theyāve been showing all Zeb and no Kallus is cause Zeb has mostly healed from his trauma on Lasan. Heās able to go on independent missions and fight while not looking back (as much) cause heās made his peace. He may think about the people he lost but ever since season ONE of rebels his healing has been relatively constant and even when it gets bad again he had his family to help pick him back up.
Kallus, however, can never forget. Not only did he actively participate in the slaughter of Zebās people (influenced by the Empire yes but he still acted on it), but he also proceeded to hold up the empire for years as one of their BEST. He held that title with pride and never looked back until Zebās kindness rerouted his brain away from the Imperial ādo what the higher ups tell you they are always rightā shit. Now, ever since the war ended, his life is and will always be dedicated to saving what little that he can from what he stole from the universe. He writes books, most likely helps out his community on Lira San, ect.
Zeb is dedicated to the rebellion. His people are still a part of his life but so is the rebellion. He doesnāt have to reference any personal matters because heās very good at emotionally regulating especially after living with Jedi all his life. Kallus is tied to his wrongdoings. Itās not a good or bad thing itās a simple fact. Rebels will see he was part of the empire, he will always be focused on his part in restoring what was lost. He canāt be mentioned out of context of Zebās people and thatās a sharp slope to Zeb himself cause of his influence over his life.
Disneys too scared to show their very obviously romantic relationship simple as that. So they choose the easy route and just show Zeb and put him to work.
Side note: this is why I want a comic based around Lira San.
Theyāll never approach discussing Zebās trauma in his one off appearances. Either because itās too ādeepā for the mostly kiddie stuff they put out nowadays or cause Kallus is just too ingrained in said trauma to avoid disneys homophobia. As someone who suffers from PTSD I rlly enjoyed the episodes about Zebās trauma especially his talk with Ezra in season 1.
I think Disney might be more easy on the censorship in comics, so we could explore both and see what Kal is doing (other than writing books⦠Iād LOVE if they made his writing into an actual book thoughā¦)
