"How's the training kid?" You looked up from the steel table, reading the latest flora report from Norm. Grace stood there before making her way to sit, cigarette unlit in one hand. You wrinkled your nose at it but didn't comment. Grace huffed a discreet laugh but waited for you to speak.
"It's okay." You said shrugging, and it was; though it wasn't ideal to just watch training, being able to participate would be best.
"Cut the bullshit kid. What's wrong?" She lit her cigarette, inhaling the smoke and letting it sit in her lungs before blowing it out to the right of her.
"Well… Tsu'tey has his reservations about um me, I guess. Well, vrrteps in general so I've been benched."
Another gust of smoke was blown, her nodding her head. "He wasn't always so hostile to us, to humans. In fact, he was one of my best students, he was a little intrigued about us. But after his betrothed died, Swyalnin had died in the school…" She trailed off, looking to the windows. Her face was contorted, regret twinkled in her eyes. You both sat there, in silence, not knowing what to say now.
Neytiri did let you join her Jake's lesson a few times, only because of Jake's insistent bugging and complaining. Neytiri nodded as you evaded Jake’s attack. “Good, you are not a warrior at heart Ma’Y/N, but you evade better than Jake who is.” It is something the two of you had discussed when the lessons first started, she saw the hesitance with the bow, the grimace of the kill. It replayed in your head.
“I will demonstrate the hunt. When the time comes, you shall partake and bring the clan food. As a successful warrior, as one of the people.” Neytiri started with tracking, you observed as she saw tracks; fresh and compacted from the wait. She sniffed the air, you did the same, it smelled different in the South direction. You followed behind with Jake, who too was observing intently. Neytiri scanned her surroundings, avoiding the värumut (vein pod), weaving through the leaves avoiding the pxiut (razor palm) but she stopped. The leaves were broken, with the tiniest bit of blood on there. She let her finger below, and the blood dropped. It was fresh, she smelled it, “Ah yes, this is yerik (hexapede) blood. The scent is mature; this is a good one. Let us go, the hunt has started.” Jake grinned as he nudged you til you were smiling as well.
Neytiri took in a breath as she drew the string back, she waited as the yerik bent down to eat, waiting for the vital point to be shown. As she exhaled, she let the arrow go, hitting the animal. She turned to head towards the two of you motioning forward with her, but she noticed a grimace. She made her way to the dying animal.
“Thank you brother, for these gifts. May you frolic with your ancestors and be with Ewya now.” She drew the knife and with one swoop the blade finished off the animal. She noticed as you hesitated to gather animals, the complete contrast to Jake who was grinning.
“You do not like to kill Ma’Y/N.” It was not a question, but a statement of your nature.
You grabbed the knife, starting to cut along the side for meat, “I do not. I….” You didn’t know how to continue, yes killing an animal was hard but it was the natural order you suppose.
“You have a kind heart Ma’Y/N, it may be too kind and soft for a warrior. You do not have to partake in the rituals, but you will not be allowed to stay with the people, as Jake will be. It is up to you, whichever you choose - we shall respect it.”
Jake waved his hand, as he spoke in broken Na’vi, “Soft heart not bad, you overcome later. Circle of life Ma’Y/N, takes time.” He nudged you again with his shoulder, in English this time, “You’ll be fine Y/N, it just takes some time to get used to. You love Pandora, fauna, flora, anything you see. But it is the circle of life, you got this. Now come on, honor his life and use every part - do not let his death be in vain, yeah?”
You scoffed, “For a being so slow Jake, you have your profound statements every now and then.” Your tension lessened as you cut the leg.
He shrugged laughing at your remark, “Hey you can’t count me out just yet, I say smart things every once in a while.”
Neytiri nodded, making a sound of an approved hum at the banter rolling off you two, “Time will make it easier for you Ma’Y/N.”
The time with Neytiri and Jake was well spent, being able to actually put what you have been watching from Tsu'tey and his warriors. It was exhilarating to actually train and learn hands on. There was something off though, every practice; the ears flattened, her diverting her eyes from you, small little things she would let slip.
But it did make sense once Neytiri taught the two of you with the pa'li. As you mounted, Jake made several non-comedic innuendos. Neytiri's ears slightly flattened and jaw clenched. So, she was jealous. Neytiri thought you guys were a couple or at the very least fucking.
"Jake please for the love of God shut the fuck up."
Jake laughed while Neytiri patted the horse, "Come Y/N you know I'm only teasing; you and Norm make a very cute couple."
Neytiri glanced up as you softly smiled, "Yeah, yeah stop ass kissing and pay attention. I'm sure Neytiri wants us to get on with the lesson." She smiled at you.
"Yes, as Y/N said stop the ass kissing and pay attention." You laughed as did Jake, and Neytiri chucked.
The thing is though, you and Norm weren't together, he confessed he liked Trudy, so you've been helping him. You could see why others thought you were together though, all that time spending alone practicing to ask her out or you giving him info. You hoped you'd find someone that enamored you.
When it was Jake's turn, Neytiri eased him through, “This is Tsaheylu - the bond. Feel her heartbeat, her breath. Feel her strong legs.” As his pupils dilated so did the pa’li’s, he felt the bond. His excitement got the better of him as he exclaimed “Forward!” The pa’li ran forward, promptly kicking Jake off. His body went down with a smack; you rushed to his aid as Neytiri rolled her eyes.
“Are you okay?” You hovered, gently touching his forearm.
Neytiri brought the dire horse back, as you helped Jake brush off the mud, he stuck his tongue to get the hair off of it, “Yes, just a bruised ego now.”
Knowing he didn’t have any bodily harm done to him you started to laugh, recalling the splat he had made when he fell. Jake stared at you incredulously, “I could have been seriously hurt.”
“But you weren’t, you just looked like a dumb ass calling off a horse,” at which Neytiri laughed, she couldn’t help it as she too recalled the sound he made.
As the laughter died down, Tsu'tey came out on his own pa'li. You shifted slightly behind Neytiri, both her and Jake noticed. He leaned forward, eyes on Jake as he said with a thick accent, “You should go away.”
Jake stared into Tsu'tey's eyes, “I know you could speak English.” You snorted, as Jake accused Tsu’tey.
Neytiri rolled her eyes at their exchange,"Ma'Tsu'tey, I see you."
"I see you. Why are you wasting your time with these demons? This alien will learn nothing... a rock sees more... look at him." His arrogant smile was paired with a laugh, with his fellow warriors laughing along with him. His eyes made their way to you as you still hid behind Neytiri, “And that one, there is no hope. Too much fear, like a yerik in the forest hearing a sound.”
Neytiri shook her head before sighing softly and gently slapped the pa'il, "Go."
She gently touched your shoulder and lingered as Jake went to hop on the horse. Jake saw you staring, he gave a wink to you which you rolled your eyes at. Your stomach fluttered as you watched Tsu'tey ride off.
She turned to Jake, “Again.”
Jake grunted, the pa'li surged forward, he barely made it through one ride before Neytiri called it a day. You clapped, "Wow Jake, made it a whole lap. "
The pa'li raised its hind legs as Jake grunted. He hopped off as you slow clapped, eventually shoving your shoulder at the sarcastic sound. Neytiri chuckled as the two of you started shoving one another back and forth. You slid further away as Jake right stepped forward; he fell another splat echoed. You doubled over laughing as Neytiri had a laugh escape her as well. "Really? Again, you skxwang?"
Jake laid there, sulking in the mud. "You sound like Grace insulting me, asshole."
"Yeah well maybe she was right."
He rolled his eyes as he wiped the mud off, "Imagine Grace seeing me like this? She'd have a field day."
Holding you hand out, Jake grabbed it and using his strength he pulled you into the mud. You let out a gasp before hitting the wet floor. "You dickface."
He barked out a laugh as did Neytiri. Pushing Jake down, you brought yourself up - hiding behind Neytiri as Jake got up. You scooped up the mud from your arms, throwing it at Jake as he pushed the dirt off of him. He froze. He subtly scooped the mud from his chest, whirled and threw it - completely forgetting Neytiri was the hitbox now.
She gasped and Jake was frozen again, "Oh I'm so telling Gracee dirt her. She's gonna grill your ass." You scooped the mud from your chest, placing it in Neytiri's hand, "Do it ma'Neytiri. Chuck it in his face! She's gonna be pissed you threw mud at Neytiri!" You doubled over in laughter, how could you not. You scraped the mud off yourself, compacting it nice and tight, you hovered over Neytir's ear, "Make the shot."
Jake held his hands up in surrender.
He shook his head, fervently, opposing being the target though he just started this dangerous game mere minutes ago. Her ears were pinned as she squinted her eyes, slowly, slowly taking the mud-ball from your hands. The devilish grin that appeared on your face made Jake's stomach drop, and before he turned to run - in a blink of an eye the ball connected with his forehead. Pushing his head back, then his body following right behind.
"Son of a bitch! Goddamn that hurt."
Wiping the mud away, the three of you sat in silence; exhausted and spent from running around throwing mud-balls at one another. You laid down, letting the grass caress your back. Inhaling, Jake spoke without thinking, "Grace would've loved to see that." You froze, eyeing Neytiri and her shifting, and her droopy tail.
Your followed in pursuit, "Yeah she would've huh."
The Pandora's night air was crisp to your lungs, breathing in and out. The howls and yips from the creatures lurking could be heard from miles away, but the three of you sat in silence.
Another day with being ignored again. Tsu’tey didn’t acknowledge your presences, it was as if ghost lingered. You came to the clearing for training every day, why? You had no idea. Maybe there was still hope Tsu’tey would change his mind and actually train you like the Olo’Eyktan ordered to. Maybe deep down you wanted him to at the very least acknowledge you; a simple nod, maybe a smile if it was a good day.
You found a fallen tree in a shade, with a few of the warriors in view. A sigh escaped your lips, watching them so many times does tend to get boring. Your eyes drifted closer to home tree, watching as some of the people weave, some cook, the children running around arms flapping like an ikran. You watched the children jump on one another, screeching as one caught the other and now, they were the big bad ikran. ‘Tag. They’re playing tag. I guess there's only some many games any child could come up with.’
Tsu’tey shook his head as the youngest of the warriors got knocked down. He extended his hand, helping the warrior in training up. He turned his head, already preparing his signature scowl at you. But your eyes weren't trailing on him, or observing the warriors, instead they were on the home tree. As the children played, he saw the smile that made its way on your face. The quiet giggle as the children laughed and tumbled into each other.
He was smiling too, as the children took another dive into each other. It was wiped when the trainees called him. He shook his head, distracting thoughts gone from his head.
You were sitting under your usual tree, in the shade watching Tsu'tey and his numeyu, out of sight though. Closing your eyes for what seemed like a couple of minutes, you heard soft steps coming towards you. Peeking through one squinted eye, there she was small and shaking. Her little bangs had an upside-down V in the middle, and she had 4 thick braids tucked behind her ear with the rest of her hair in a small braid. She held tightly to the wooden pa'li horse, it was decorated with red stripes and purple legs. You opened your eyes fully and waited for her to speak, but she never did. She would open her mouth but never found the words.
Her mouth quivered as you shuffled down to be at eye-level. You offered a small smile before speaking, "The pa'li is very beautifully painted, did you do it?"
Distracted, she turned her attention to her toy, nodding as she did. "Yes, my brother Päkat made it for me. It was his fifth one he made before giving it to me."
You feigned surprise,"Wow, it is very well made too."
She smiled, proud of her and her brother's abilities were getting praised. Her demeanor turned shy again, as she avoided eye contact, "Can you play pa'li race with me ma'uniltìranyu?"
You have a fake pondered look before replying to the little girl, "I don't have a pa'li horse nor have I ever played, do you think you can be my karyu(teacher) and teach me how to play?"
The shaking wasn't from fear anymore but from excitement coursing through her tiny stature. "Yes! I will get my other pa'li toys! I will be the best karyu ever!" And then she was off, her little legs running back to her village, clutching her toy so tight and heart beating fast.
It wasn't long before her brother and his friend came to check on her, "Eyayng! Get away from the demon!" The two boys, who couldn't be more than a year or two older than her.
Eyayng stuck her tongue out as the boys got closer, "Shut up, she is not a demon! Her name is Y/N and she's playing races with me!'" The two boys hesitated. They slowly approached as Eyayng turned her attention away from her brothers and back to you.
She went back to explaining the rules, from the corner of your eyes you seen the boys crouch and slowly make their ways to you. You nodded along as she shown her color coordination for her ranking the horses.
The friend of the brother, Sraihäk, spoke up when Eyayng said the wrong rule.
Right before you called it a day Jake took you to look at the Flora, he stashed a bag with your sketchbooks and charcoal. He grinned, "Here, I know you've been dying to sketch and with that asshole I doubt you've been able to."
You smiled softly, "Thank you Jake, I mean it."
His ears flattened, and he rubbed his neck - chuckling as he did, “Don't mention Y/N.”
As you two snuck out into the night, Tsu'tey followed.
You found a spot, close enough to return but not so close you would be seen. You drew the atokirina as it floated on Jake's head and then another floated on you as well. You drew the plants that retracted back into the ground. The night was beautiful. Jake just stayed with you asking you questions, "So what's your favorite color?"
"Oh it has to be F/C. It just… it used to be my dads favorite color so now it's mine. Yours?"
Jake saw how your tail drooped; he only heard a little from Grace about your parents. Trying to save the Na'vi children and dying with them. He tried to lift the mood, "Pshh hmm. That's a hard one. I guess if it boils down to it blue of course," he said, gesturing to all of himself. Your tail lifted and slightly swayed back and forth as you laughed.
It was a quiet night, as you drew you wondered what type of plants healed. It was only natural for you to be curious. Tsu'tey continued to watch, as you sketched and as Jake lounged. He watched as your ears shifted to any hoot or hiss in the wind, your tail flicked as you were frustrated not being able to draw what you wanted correctly. He watched how the atokirina hovered by, but never to close - in a way just like him. He kept watching you, not Jake, just you. You were fascinated by the Flora but had respect for it as well.
It was a different appreciation then what Norm and Grace had, kin to it but so drastically different. His eyes caught something, an atokirina floated next to him and traveled to you. He furrowed his brow together. No. No this is, this cannot be happening. No, that is a mistake. His stomach dropped as you held your hand out. It danced around you before resting on your palm. He saw a soft smile appear on your lips and heard your voice throughout the night, “They remind me of butterflies.” Jake raised an eyebrow and hummed in agreement. “I've only seen pictures of butterflies, and videos. Have you ever seen one?”
He scoffed, “Yeah, no. I'm sure they're wiped out on Earth. There were so many mass extinctions that I lost count.”
Frowning, you turned to Jake. “Come here,” you waved your hand motioning him to come close, patting on the ground. He obliged, slowly as the atokirina still rested on you.
“While we didn't see the beauty that was on Earth before, let's at least appreciate this one, no?” He rolled his eyes but nodded, nonetheless. It was as if the Ewya had heard you, and more and more atokirina floated around you. Dancing and floating before they scattered away. “See? You have to appreciate life no matter how small.” Jake nodded a bit before leaning over to see what you drew.
Tsu'tey's tailed flick, maybe there was hope for you. Maybe you could see. He hopped down, silent and with ease, as a true warrior.
“What's that plant?” Before you could respond Neytiri came into view and your eyes widened.
Her ears heightened up and she drew an eyebrow up, "What are you doing here?"
Jake put his hands up in surrender and shrugged, "It was my idea." His Na’vi was at least getting better, all those study sessions with you and Norm seem to help a little.
“Besides healing with the sky people, I also draw. Jake took me. I am done, I promise.”
Neytiri scowled," Let me see." You clutched the sketchbook hard before giving it to her with your eyes cast downward.
She flipped through the pages, a little surprised at the quality of your work, “Good. Very good."
You smiled and thanked her. As she was about to usher you back toward the tree, Tsu'tey appeared from the shadows. You shuffled behind Jake; he was intimidating as always. "What are you doing out here?"
"Calm down. I was taking them back right now. Y/N was just finishing up."
"Let me look. Now." Neytiri rolled her eyes but handed the sketchbook to him, your protest wouldn't have mattered - not to Tsu'tey anyways.
Tsu'tey flipped and flipped till he came across the atokirina. His stomach dropped, an unexplained feeling came to him. No, he could explain it, fear; No, the Great Mother was wrong. You were a demon. A false body. You could not see, not now, not ever. "You call this good? A child can draw better than that." Tsu'tey laughed a cruel laugh at you… though it was hollow.
Jake's eyes narrowed and Neytiri hissed a 'Stop.'
His voice was low, “Say that again."
You blinked the tears away, to be humiliated in front of people you care about made you want to curl up and cry. You cleared your throat, pulling Jake closer to you "Jake, no."
"No Y/N. He's been treating you like shit this whole entire time. Not any more."
"Listen to the other demon JakeSully."
You grabbed Jake's shoulder again, shaking your head. Jake hissed at Tsu'tey as he grabbed your hand, "Let’s go. We can talk more in the lab." Neytiri shot Tsu'tey a menacing glance. Tsu'tey did not like the way his stomach dropped at the sight of you two, Neytiri didn't like it either.
Tsu'tey was never much to converse with. He was a man of action, not necessarily words. But with you, he drew a blank to both. He did not want you close, not at all. Not when his eyes would drift to your face; you look radiant as the sun hit your face or even at night as you glowed. He did not like the feeling he got when you examined plants, or when you would talk to Jake and smile, your pointed teeth in view.
He could not like any of those things; he was to be Olo'Eyktan and future mate of Neytiri, the next Tsahik. Plus, you were a demon. A dream-walker in a false body. He shouldn't, nay couldn't, let his attention be caught by your soft smiles or how his stomach feels as it's in knots any time you would attempt to talk to him. Or how when you laughed it soothed his erratic heart. No, these were impure thoughts, he had to keep you at arm's length.
Except as he did that, he noticed it drove you into the arms of JakeSully. That left a bitter taste in his mouth. He knew the comment with your drawings was unnecessarily cruel. He should’ve just left. That was supposed to get you away but once he noticed you were gone he felt an ache; you weren't under your usual shaded spot, that you weren't trailing behind him in the village, you weren't there to help the 'evengs who got their toys stuck when they threw it too high or even play with the lonely 'evi. The 'evengs even started to ask for you.
"Where is the dream walker ma'leiokoaktan(respected male elder)?" A small female child holding a pa'li wooden horse wandered up to him, right before lessons with his numeyus(students).
He lowered himself down, a raised eyebrow at the young child, "What business do you have with the Uniltìrantokx (dreamwalker)?"
The little girl, Eyayng if he remembered correctly, jutted out her bottom lip, "She plays pa'li race when older brother and his friends don't want to play."
"Eyayng, why not play with another 'eveng? Or ask another member to play."
"It is not the same, she makes these funny sounds," she giggled as she remembered, "She said where her sa'sem (parent) came from, they have horses! They make these funny sounds, or maybe she makes them funny." She shrugged, the excitement wearing off as she remembered the uniltìrantokx was not here today
"I will play with you after training, I can't make the funny noises but I will try."
That afternoon was a slightly humiliating one, with Eyayng correcting his animal noises. He made everyone of his numeyus play pa'li racing, so he was not the only one to be embarrassed by the small 'evi.
He sought after you, he noticed you were with Jake and Neytiri. You had grown slightly closer with Neytiri, being able to converse with her better than Jake had its upside. You laughed as Neytiri called Jake a skxáwng. He watched you daydreaming away as Neytiri reprimanded Jake for being irresponsible. His ears perked up at the sound of your voice.
"I will be back, Norm needs some help."
Jake grinned while Neytiri smiled, nodding as you waved 'bye'. He furrowed his eyebrows, 'Why would you want to help that skinny false body?" He turned, forgetting what that he sought you out for Eyayng, and left to the train.
You hopped off the pod, greeting Norm as you steadied yourself from the disconnection. "So, what did you need my help with?" He looked a little nervous and motioned slightly toward the rooms. You followed as he scurried. As you guys enter Norm's room, he shifts uneasily as he sat.
"What's wrong?" You loomed over him, worried about what he would blurt.
"Nothing. Um, just that… Trudy shot me down."
"Oh no Norm I'm so sorry."
"Yeah she thought I was trying to cheat on you."
"Oh fuck christ, really?"
He nodded his head, dejected with his shoulders slumped. "Look, I'll explain to her that you were only trying to help me with Avatar stuff and the Na'vi language. Nothing else."
"It's fine. She also is having a fling with one of the soldiers too so there's not much you can do."
You grimaced, 'Fuck'. "Do you wanna talk about it or get shit faced drunk? Or both?"
Norm gave a sad smile, "Both."
You two were huddled by the large stalk outside, you were already shit faced. But still kept taking the mask off and swinging a beer to drink.
A pair of eyes watched the two of you with disdain. They couldn't keep watching, afraid of how this would turn out. He turned, leaving the sight of a pair of drunkards, before casting one last look in your true form, your true human form. It physically pained his chest that he still thought you look pretty, even as tawtute.
While Norm was a touchy feely drunk you were an emotional drunk. A pair made in heaven you could say. Norm had his arm wrapped around you as you started to sob about what Tsu'tey said and how this whole thing really took its toll with you, emotionally.
"Is it wrong that I still want him to fuck my brains out?" You sniffled at the end.
Norm eyes widened and he fell dramatically to the floor dying of laughter, "You for sure have some degradation kink or monster kink. Oh, good heavens."
You whined as he laughed, "Stop. I'm already embarrassed."
"I would be too if I were you," he gasped in between each word.
“I'm going insane!” You exclaimed, throwing your hand in the air, devastated at the predicament you were in - that you honestly put yourself in.
Norm laughed again, clapping like a walrus, “Oh my god you're supposed to learn and be one, not in one another.” He was having way too much fun with this.
"I swear to God I will punch you, Norm." As the night lulled by, the two of you drunkenly got up, and fell down and got up again making it towards your room. You both crashed on your bunk bed.
You woke up with a pounding headache, with your limbs aching and stomach churning. You're never drinking with Norm again. Holy shit can that fucking stick of a dude drink his weight in alcohol. It was the afternoon and Norm was still snoring. Jake had already been in the pod for two hours. You sighed, 'I'll go just to stretch my avatar, use the bathroom and eat a bit. Simple.' you thought.
No, of course, it couldn't be simple, no not for you. As you were sneaking around to stretch, you ran into Tsu'tey. No problem, right? He doesn't want to teach; you'll be able to scurry along not have to deal with the dickwad. No, that was not in your cards today as it seemed.
Your stomach dropped and you felt like throwing up; from fear or the remnants of last night, you weren’t entirely sure. You didn't answer but just looked at him and nodded.
He narrowed his eyes at your pinned ears, his tail flicked. " Let us go."
Your face crumpled, eyebrows knitted and ears shifted, "What?" You said stupidly.
He huffed, "We will do archery and then do weaving. Hurry and follow." Your mood started to grow sour. You begrudgingly followed behind. Tsu'tey sighed, to at least have her talk to him again would be hard.
"No. No. Your stance is too … "
"Stand as tall as a tree. Feel it here." Your lower abdomen burned as he touched you. You exhaled and inhaled, standing straight. The shot actually made it close to the bullseye. He nodded with approval, very rare from him to you," Better."
You tail shift slightly, as you puffed your chest out slightly. Tsu'tey hide his grin, he could feel the happiness exuding from you from his words of praise.
The next activity was weaving. You're not entirely sure why Tsu'tey had taken you here, you've never expressed interest in this particular art. You were being trained by Ninat as you started to learn to weave. While she was the best singer, she was also a top-notch weaver… and was one of only ones willing to teach you.
Your first attempt was decent enough. The sides had some fraying parts, and the colors were vibrant. Ninat nodded her head, “Very good, sides need work and some loops are out. Have you done something similar?” Her tail moved back and forth, eagerly awaiting your answer.
“Yes, my mother taught me how to weave with a device that was used on Earth.”
“Did your mother only teach you once? Were you not interested as a child?”
You avoid eye contact as your ears pinned downward and a slight frown made its way to your face, “Uh yeah, she uh died before she could teach more.” Tears stung as you blinked them away.
“I am sorry for your loss Ma’Y/N,
“Thank you and thank you for teaching me.” She gave you a small smile, which you returned. Her eyes quickly shifted to Tsu'tey then back to you.
He leaned in close, hovering above your right shoulder, "Not bad vrrtep."
You rolled your eyes, "Oh well I'm sure a child could do better."
Tsu'tey winced internally. Great. At a loss for words, you filled in the silence. "Thank you again Ma’Ninat. Since I am done with archery and weaving, I will be disconnecting. Norm needs help again."
Tsu'tey infamous scowl was on display, "No."
You let out a sigh, "And why not?"
"Because your training is not done."
Your eyes might as whole stay rolling at this point, "Training? This is the first time we've ever trained; I'm sure going back won't affect the non-existent progress we've made." Ninat slowly left the room, not wanting to disturb this quarrel or worse, somehow get dragged into it.
Tsu'tey growled, "Watch your tone.”
Your eyes narrowed, "No. I am leaving. Goodbye."
Tsu'tey gripped your arm. The pressure was a little too hard to ignore as it had surprised you, "Ah!"
He quickly let go. "I-I…." He faltered, while you were training to be a warrior you were still a zeykoyu (healer), a good one from Jake's story. High ranking, and he hurt you.
You growled barring your teeth, "Don't touch me." You held your arm as you left to return to your human body. Tsu'tey stood there, dumbstruck at his actions. His heart raced and his body felt hot from the disgraceful act he just committed. To use force against any healer was frowned upon, clan or not; and you were here, trying to be a part of the clan, be a part of the people. His stomach churned, he finally left the spot he stood at, shame casting its heavy weight on him.
