my eyes are heavy with flashes of dirt, dazy soil - the warmth of leaves & wet earth. this longing is old. I always wanted a breath that was thick & full of rest. I never could calm, I never got to sleep. I would stay wide-eyed, watching my window. looking at the people in the night, in the alley, bellow. I was not meant to be there, in that bed. I dreamt of moon lakes, winged spirits, dust and stone gems. there are rivers that flow at speeds foreign to earth, where gravity is lighter. time moves backwards so that no face changes with age. I know what heaven could be, it is in the horizon line & waiting. What lake - what lover, will take me there? I believe there is a shimmer only few can see.
