104th Cadets as Folkloric / Mythological Beings

Eren: Valravn, “raven of the slain.” Commonly depicted as a raven, or occasionally a half-raven and half-wolf creature, Valravns are able to gain human knight form after consuming the blood (or even the heart) of a child.

Mikasa: Kitsune, shapeshifting fox spirits for obvious reasons. They can be benevolent or malevolent, the latter of which will play tricks ranging from mild and sometimes humiliating, to deadly. Benevolent ones, most commonly the females, can prove to be and often do make for devoted lovers. Dogs can tell them apart from humans and normal foxes, and will often attack them.

Armin: Nixie. Also Nix, Nyx, Neck, Nokk, Nokken or Näcken. Shapeshifting water spirits who usually appear in human form, most often as a man playing a violin or fiddle. Malicious ones are particularly dangerous, and have been known to lure away women and children with their enchanted songs; though not all of them are malevolent. If properly approached or given an offering of some kind, such as three drops of blood, a black animal or vodka, they will teach their enchanted music.

Jean: Water horse; also sometimes identified in other cultures as a kelpie, Ceffyl Dŵr, Capaill Uisce, cabyll-ushtey, each-uisge, or bäckahäst. Certain beings, such as the Nix (or Nokken) which can take the form of humans, can also take the form of a water horse. They are often malevolent, luring their prey into approaching before diving off into the water to make them drown.

Marco: Church grim, a guardian spirit in English and Nordic folklore. Often appearing as a black dog, it can also take the form of other animals, such as a lamb or a horse.

Annie: Hulder, or huldra, a seductive forest creature. She is also known as a skogsrå (“forest spirit”) or Tallemaja (“pine tree Mary”), and/or ulda. They were known to be kind to coal burners, especially if treated with respect, and watched over their charcoal kilns while they slept. In return for waking them if there were any problems, they left out food and drinks.

Bertolt: Jötunn, plural jötnar, a gigantic entity also referred to by various names like, risi, thurs and troll. They can also be called, of course, giants. They may be exceedingly beautiful or alarmingly grotesque.

Reiner: Werewolf/hellhound. Werewolves are very common mythological beings wherein a man can shapeshift into a wolf. Hellhounds are guardian servants of the underworld. Both kinds occur in many folktales and mythologies around the world. In Germanic myths, a hellhound can be incredibly large.

Connie: Kobold. There are three major types. They are most commonly household spirits, and may play malicious tricks if neglected or slighted. The two other types are those who haunt underground areas such as mines, or live aboard ships and help sailors.

Sasha: Cù-sìth(e), plural coin-shìth(e), a fairy hound. It is believed to make its home in the clefts of rocks and roams the moors, and is usually described as being as large as a cow with a shaggy and dark green coat. It can hunt silently, but would sometimes let out three horrifying barks that can be heard miles away by those listening for it. Listeners have to reach safety before the third bark, or they will literally die from fear.

Ymir: Changeling, a human-like fairy or troll left in the place of a stolen human baby. They appear in folktales of many regions.

Historia: Hamingja, a female guardian angel. Usually appearing during sleep in the form of an animal, she can also be the spirit of a sleeping person in the form of an animal. She accompanied a person and decided their luck and happiness, and when they died she passed to a beloved family member, and so continued to influence their family’s fortune for generations. It’s also possible to lend one to a friend.

Reactions to Playing OMORI

Mod Response: Thank you for this super detailed submission! Fans of the series, hope you enjoy this awesome anon’s work!!!!!

First impressions:

Eren: He thinks it’s cute and interesting. The game’s genre isn’t something he would normally play (he’s more of a fps and/or 3rdps, hack-and-slash and beat-em-up kind of guy) but he likes it so far. However, the jumpscares seem a little out of place in such a game, even if it’s apparently supposed to be psychological/surreal horror…

Mikasa: She already adores it. Something about the pixels reminds her of very old rpgs (like Pokemon) and brings her a lot of nostalgia. She does think it’s odd how the game has such a cutesy atmosphere, even though it’s supposed to be a horror game.

Armin: Like Mikasa, he finds the game very charming and nostalgic, but also thinks the clash between the game’s atmosphere and jumpscares is so odd.

Jean: He’s a little dismissive at first. The game is so colorful, cutesy, quirky and silly that he has a hard time taking it seriously. The battle sequences are funny and interesting, though, as well as surprisingly challenging, so he keeps playing.

Marco: As soon as he starts the game, he falls in love with the small but charming details; from the polaroid photo album, to the treehouse, to Aubrey’s beloved plushie Mr. Plantegg. For a horror rpg, the game is quite adorable!

Reiner: Not really up his alley, but it definitely seems like a game that he would play and explore when he’s not in the mood for his usual favorite genres.

Bertolt: He couldn’t help but tilt his head at the fact that a game as sweet and silly as this is labeled a horror game. Like? An rpg that reminds him of Pokemon and other childhood pixelated games? A horror game? No way. He does come to see it as one thanks to the jumpscares he comes across, but he still can’t help but smile.

Annie: She likes Aubrey and how unashamed she is with having pink as her favorite color while being tomboyish. Annie also wishes that she, too, could also be as photogenic as Aubrey (even when Annie’s friends tell her that she is photogenic).

Connie: Kel has very quickly become one of his favorite characters. They have the same dumbass but happy and friendly energy, the same “only one braincell” energy.

Sasha: She loves how game shamelessly includes “childish” foods. There is no such thing as being too old for watermelon, chocolate chip cookies or toast with jam!

Historia: The game is so cute. The characters are cute. Some of the enemies are cute. She wants a Mr. Plantegg plushie, and a sprout mole plushie, and she wants them NOW. She also loves how girl yet violent Aubrey can be.

Ymir: She’ll say it’s lame just to keep up her tough girl image, but she does like how quaint the game’s designs are. Like Connie, Kel has become a favorite simply for being a hilarious idiot.

Climax/Final Boss impressions (OMORI fans, I’m pretty sure you know which boss fight I’m talking about):

Eren: What. The fuck. Is THIS!? He thought shit had already hit the fan and that it would be done and over with. He was NOT prepared for the drastic sequence and the heartbreak. He was mumbling “No no no no no” while he was doing the black-and-white photo album. And the final boss’s dialogue!? (“Hero loved her and **. Aubrey loved her and **. Kel loved her and **. Basil loved her and **. You loved her and **.”) Oh, they hit different in ways Eren never thought possible and now he can’t stop crying. He actually had to take a moment to collect himself before continuing.

Mikasa: She’s extremely horrified and sad. She’s horrified and sad and she wants so badly to just jump into the game and give poor Sunny a hug, and she’s so frustrated that she can’t and all she can do is cry for him. After she finishes the game, she goes looking for friends to hug for a very long while.

Armin: He had a feeling something bad had happened, even with the more pieces he fit together, the more the dread in him building, nothing could have prepared him for the following nightmare. The jumpscares can’t even compare to the emotional hell that is the situation presented to him. He’s so sad he can’t even be scared anymore.

Jean: This is horrific. He now understands why this game is psychological/surreal horror and it did a damn good job of taking a sledgehammer to his heart and leaving him reeling. He is familiar with loss, has experienced it before. Who hasn’t? But this? This is on an entirely different level, and it’s happening to a child. He can’t comprehend dealing with that kind of shit for four years, with nothing and/or no one to turn to for help.

Marco: He feels so bad. Everything about this game is so horrid. He knows Sunny is a fictional character but Marco can’t help trying in vain to reassure him aloud that he will be fine, that everything will be fine, even though the final boss has spelled it out that everything about the situation and the cause of the situation is anything but fine “and I need you [the final boss] to SHUT UP!”

Reiner: He’s a little behind everyone else, and only really starts playing the game in full once they all start freaking out; but when he does approach reach the climax and the final boss, dear gods is he trying to keep it together. He really is; but he can’t, not when the boss is throwing those horribly hateful lines. The accusation about being selfish hits especially hard for him, and he’s all cried out at the end of the fight. Please pass him iced sweet tea and a blanket to burrito himself with.

Bertolt: He’s not smiling anymore. If he had to find a description for a child’s own hell, this game would probably be just that. Everything about the build-up and the final boss fight, from the black-and-white photo album to the sickeningly hateful dialogue from the boss. He really wants to hug Sunny and is so sad that he can’t.

Annie: She’s…she’s fucking dead inside. She’s dead inside, bruh. Can’t even make a single peep. She’s just staring wide-eyed at the screen, numbly going through the game’s battle mechanics, not even bothering to try to hide her face, not even bothering to try and wipe her tears away. Someone has to hand her some tissues to dry her eyes with.

Connie: He’s crying. He’s going through the five stages of grief. He is full on sobbing, hiccups and bloodshot eyes and snot and all. What the hell happened to the fun times from the beginning? What the hell happened to the group healing in-between? What happened to getting the gang back together at the end!? He’s grieving. He’s grieving for the fun old times, and he’s grieving for Sunny. And when the boss starts spewing the signature battle dialogue? “NOOOOOOOOOOOO! SHADDAAAAAAAP!!!”

Sasha: The impossible has happened. The game has made her so sad, she can’t even eat, much less snack. During the boss fight, all she can do is quietly cry and whimper, “No no no no no stop..!” It’s really heartbreaking to listen and watch. Presenting her with an ice cream bowl does nothing to cheer her up. She doesn’t even touch it.

Historia: She is emotionally wrecked. She is completely, utterly wrecked and cannot stop crying. She wants to scream. She wants to hug Sunny. She wants to take that damn violin playing in the background battle music and bludgeon the boss’s head with it, anything to shut his trap and stop the agony in her and Sunny’s hearts. “** will not succumb..? Oh, HE WILL SUCCUMB, BITCH!”

Ymir: R.I.F.P. Rest in fucking pieces. Ymir’s Heart.exe has shut down. She absolutely cannot deal anymore. She has tears streaming down her face, and her voice is hoarse as she cries, “Make me laugh, dammit…! CONNIE GET IN HERE AND MAKE ME LAUGH!”

Mikasa is surprisingly very casual about how she dresses. It typically depends on the weather and how she's feeling: if it's hot and humid out, she'll most likely go out wearing little more than a tank top and sweatpants/track shorts, only taking a spare shirt or hoodie with her for modesty's sake.

But if she's particularly lazy on that kind of day then, well, the abs are out.

Guys and girls alike have frequently crashed into something or each other because they were too distracted by the abs to watch where they were going. Jean, Connie and Ymir are definitely among the observers.

Couple questions! Who among the crew are our ‘Friends’ fanatics? (Connie is the one who screams “PIVOT!” when moving places or helping a friend do so, change my mind.) who of the main cast do you think each love/identify with the most? Favorite scenes?

Thank you for all your questions! I’ll answer them each by character. 

Eren: Has seen Friends and enjoyed it, but wouldn’t consider himself a fan. He’s very much a fan of Phoebe and Joey for their humor. He enjoys scenes between Joey and Chandler the most. 

Mikasa: Friends is one of her comfort shows, and she can almost quote the whole thing. Her favorite characters are Rachel and Chandler. She absolutely loves the Ross/Emily wedding scene, and will never be okay with Rachel getting off the plane. 

Armin: Not a huge Friends fan; he’s not a big sit-com guy in general, though. He’ll watch it and have fun doing it, though. Thinks Chandler is hysterical. His favorite scenes are any that include Gunther. 

Jean: Similar to Eren, he’s seen it, but wouldn’t call himself a fan. He’s a big fan of Joey, but resonates a lot with Ross, which kinda makes him mad. His favorite scene is when they’re playing trivia for the apartment and no one knows what Chandler’s job is. 

Marco: A fan of Friends. It soothes him, makes him happy. He’s a big Chandler and Monica fan, thus his favorite scene is when Monica proposes to Chandler. 

Annie: Outwardly says the show’s fine, internally likes it a bit more than she lets on. She loves Monica, and also gets very invested in Phoebe and Mike (?). Her favorite scene is one when everyone finds out Ross is the father of Rachel’s baby, and Joey realizes it after everyone. 

Reiner: Enjoys Friends, but won’t necessarily seek it out. He’s honestly a big Rachel fan because of her phenomenal character arc, and, like Mikasa, can’t get over the fact that she got off the plane. He loves the episode where Phoebe makes Monica the ugly paintings, and they try to scare each other with them at the end.  

Bertholdt: Enjoys Friends too. He identifies SO HARD with Chandler Bing. He adores any episode with Carol and Susan, especially the one when Ben is born, because the animosity between Susan and Ross is so overdone and he just enjoys their dynamic. 

Sasha: A BIG Friends fan! She can quote it pretty well, and adores all of the characters, so she will say that Rachel is her favorite. Her absolute favorite scene is Monica and Chandler’s proposal, followed closely by Rachel getting off the plane. 

Connie: I will not change your mind: Connie LOVES Friends! He is the one who will quote it whenever possible, and his references are always on point. His favorites are Chandler and Phoebe. His favorite scene is when Chandler gets locked in the ATM vestibule with the model, and it’s just his insanely awkward internal monologue. 

Ymir: Not a big fan of Friends, and loves to declare that, but she will watch it. Gets a kick out of Joey and Chandler. Honestly very soft for the scenes with the duck and chicken. 

Historia: Enjoys Friends, but it is not her favorite sit-com. She really likes Monica and Joey. Her favorite scene is when Chandler gets The Velveteen Rabbit for Cathy, but lets Joey give it to her.

I got you. Several months late, but I got you.

Sasha is very quick to love people, but takes a while to trust them. On the surface, she's friends with everyone, but when people take the time to think about it, few actually know a lot about her. She's friendly and bubbly, and truly loves people, but she also keeps them at arm's length until she knows she can trust them to know all of her.

She loves to dance! You can usually find her jamming to a beat in her head at any time of day. When out with her friends, she will be the one to drag everyone on the dance floor, and will MAKE them have a good time out there.

She finds it difficult to sit down and read for extended periods of time, but she LOVES to tell and hear stories.

Sasha has a ridiculously strong intuition. She thinks with her gut, and it rarely steers her wrong. If it feels off to Sasha, you should be worried.

She ADORES cooking, and becomes really good at it. She loves to learn the ways that different spices, herbs, and ingredients in general can change a dish, and experiments often in the kitchen. Sometimes, this leads to amazing discoveries. Others it leads to disgusting messes. Regardless, Sasha enjoys herself.

Incredibly high alcohol tolerance, but loves to test that limit. Usually herds her friends home, but she should not be mistaken for a coherent, sober authority cause she's also plastered, but her instincts to get the group safely home are strong.

Laughs in awkward situations. She just doesn't know what to do. So she laughs. And she feels terrible about it, but she can't stop.

Her favorite season is fall. She loves watching the leaves change colors, as well as the ways the animals prepare for hibernation. And of course, in a modern universe, her favorite holidays: Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Very good at braiding hair, and is often called upon by all of her friends to braid for them.

Sasha is an only child, and always kind of hated that growing up. She made friends with anyone and everyone cause she so desperately wished that she had siblings. She loved her parents, but something always felt like it was missing in her life.

Additionally, I headcanon that the Mrs. Braus we meet in the series is a second wife to Sasha's father. Sasha's mom died when Sasha was young, so it was just her and her dad as she grew up. Sometimes things were tense, both wishing their lives were different. But, at the end of it all, neither would trade it for the world. Sasha learned so much from her dad, and Mr. Braus could not be prouder of the woman Sasha grew up to be.

Eren is basically a workaholic, and sometimes isn’t very good at managing his energy and pacing himself. Most of the time, he will keep working and check off whatever needs to be done for the day, very rarely letting himself take breaks unless he absolutely has to (like at least grabbing a snack or taking care of personal hygiene because he really does not like feeling grody at all). It typically ends in him enduring moments of sluggishness, sleep deprivation and overall physical weakness until he is done with all of his chores and tasks, and it’s followed with him crashing into his bed and sleeping and/or lazing in bed for most of the day on days that he is absolutely free and available. When it’s really bad and he stays up later than he can handle, even when he goes to sleep early the next night, he will sleep all the way until evening.

A very easy way to tell how exhausted he is is by watching and listening to him. If he’s not snapping at people even when they get on his nerves, if he’s almost completely silent and not emotive at all, that is a surefire sign that he is running on nothing but…well, willpower. It’s one of the few times that Jean doesn’t bicker and/or fight with Eren, because Jean knows he won’t get any sort of reaction out of the other so Jean would be the only one making a fool out of himself in that kind of situation.

Eren doesn’t really have a favorite season, but he definitely leans more towards the chillier months because he likes to bundle up and feel cozy with a hot drink (although sometimes he’ll be quirky and have an iced drink instead while wearing shorts). He also likes to stack up and bury himself under five layers of heavy blankets (yes, five layers) so his limbs don’t feel like frozen treats when he falls asleep or wakes up, especially if it’s cold enough to start snowing outside; and when he sleeps in, he can enjoy the feeling of curling up under the really soft covers. Cuddling is also a nice bonus, and he tends to fall asleep easier when Jean and/or Mikasa are holding him.

He is also a habitual hoodie/sweater thief. He mostly steals from Jean’s wardrobe, but Mikasa has also noticed some of her oversized sweaters going missing.

Reibert romantic relationship headcanons? 💛💙 (I love your posts!)

They love to cuddle together on the couch, even though it’s the tightest squeeze in the world!

Reiner is the one that enters the relationship with more dating experience, but Bertholdt’s the better kisser, and Reiner will never forgive him for that. (But also loves it!)

When they’re out with friends, Bertholdt texts Reiner snarky and sarcastic commentary on their friends’ foolishness, and Reiner considers himself so lucky to be privy to the hilarity that is Bertholdt’s private thoughts. 

Reiner is a huge fan of PDA. Nothing crazy or gross, but he communicates love through physical touch, and just loves to be in touch with his S/O. Bertholdt is the opposite, so it takes them a while to navigate how to balance their conflicting needs. But they love each other, so it’s worth it. 

They love to take walks together, talking about their days and simply enjoying each other’s company. 

They are also both huge readers, so they love to go to the library or a local bookstore, and each pick out a book they think the other would like. They take turns reading them, and have their own little book club every few days.

Bertholdt always gets Reiner flowers on special occasions, and he Googles what they mean so that the arrangement perfectly fits the occasion. 

Reiner keeps a list of ‘sexy things,’ mostly as a joke, because it annoys Bertholdt. He just likes to invoke ‘the list’ whenever they do or see something random. Most of it is jokes, such as ‘the double popsicles you have to share,’ ‘coffee table books, ‘ and ‘bagels without cream cheese.’

When they get a puppy, she becomes extremely attached to Bertholdt, and Reiner gets so jealous. He tries to bribe her with toys and treats, and she does love Reiner too, but Bertholdt is her favorite, and Reiner does understand why (cause Bertholdt is also his favorite.)

They propose to each other on the same day. They’d both been planning to do it for a while, and both end up carrying the rings around, waiting for the right moment. So when Reiner goes to propose, Bertholdt stops him by getting down on one knee as well, and they’re both laughing and crying at the same time.

How the Squad Acts While Playing/Watching Horror Stuff

Eren: Becomes the adorable opposite of himself, going from hostile and intimidating to meek and squeaky. He typically bundles up in a hoodie and blankets and hides behind a plushie or a pillow to feel secure, even though he is well aware he is totally safe. Most of the time, he needs somebody to sit, scream and cuddle and suffer with him while the game/movie progresses. His cute and high-pitched screams and whimpers are a blessing to many ears.

He likes to refer to Jean as his "emotional support horse."

Mikasa: Very tense; and if she's holding something other than a console controller, she tends to grip and squeeze it. (Once, while she was watching Eren play a game while cuddling him from behind, he had to tell her to loosen up because she was starting to hurt him. She was practically crushing his waist.) She has this quirky but cute and funny habit of growling like a puppy whenever she feels something scary is about to pop out.

Armin: Veeeeeeeeeeeery sloooooooooooooow, and it's because this poor baby is too busy crying and flinching and screaming at everything that moves, which includes the player character's shadow. His flinching is so bad that whenever something pops out, the camera spins everywhere because he is flinching that hard. He pauses a lot, and is very reluctant to leave any safe rooms available in games, and tends to have trouble sleeping at night afterwards. He also sounds like a screeching duck when he screams, and it is actually kind of hilarious to listen to.

Jean: Constantly questioning himself on why he is stupid enough to be indulging in such things, and always coming to the conclusion that either some strange part of him is a sadomasochist, or he was infected with Eren's...whatever people call it. He is also very prone to cursing.

He is also pretty decent at being an "emotional support horse" and has a very nice ASMR voice to go with it.

Marco: Always uses the controller whenever he can just so he can sit further away from the screen, and even then he has to take breaks to breathe and collect himself. Screams every now and then.

He, too, has a very nice ASMR voice and is very good at being emotional support.

Annie: Mostly quiet, but she does flinch and curse when a jumpscare happens. She mostly watches movies and very rarely plays games; but when she does play games, she is actually a little bit braver than most people. She really lives up to her adopted surname Leonhart.

Also has a nice ASMR voice, but really goes a little bit further with Armin.

Bertolt: Poor baby boi cries and screams to the high heavens during chase scenes, boss fights and when a jumpscare happens he ends up spinning the camera all over the place in his panic. If he has a buddy with him, it's not the game/movie freaking them out, but his screaming. It's hilarious and adorable to watch and listen; but also, please, somebody please help him.

Reiner: Similar to Eren and Bertolt, but eventually this man will get so scared that all of the fear trapped and building up inside of him will be forced out, and leave him in this numb state of accepting his fate to witnessing all the horrors that twisted human minds have conjured and etched into the media.

Reiner: "Are you still awake...?"

Annie: "I wasn't until you called. What is it?"

Reiner: "...I can't sleep."

Annie: "I can. Good night."

Connie: Reactions can be pretty extreme. He starts to talk really fast, and it gets so fast that his words blur and blend together until they're not even words anymore, but just an alphabet soup of gibberish. He will preemptively scream whenever he does something or something happens that he thinks will trigger a jumpscare, like opening a door or turning a corner, just so he can cope with the whole chaos. If he's in a gamer chair and there is free space, he can and absolutely will dive out of it and hide in the cushions and/or blankets (complete with said gamer chair spinning).

Ymir: "I didn't think it was possible to vocalize keyboard mashing and yet, here we are."

Sasha: Ironically enough, the kind of person who, in fight-or-flight, will go down the third option and freeze like a deer in headlights. Eyes wide, but not a single peep. Too scared to move, and doesn't even register that she has to push buttons until her character has already taken some damage, or worse: insta-killed. Heaven help her if she didn't save, forcing her to go through whatever hell she had already gone.

Ymir: Tries her best and damnedest to act tough, but eventually will crumble. She still manages to sound "chill," but her words and tone make it clear that at that point, she is anything but. She'll even stall on occasion (as in, pausing a lot, spending a lot of time in the menu screens, taking a lot of short breaks, taking a few very long breaks, etcetera) and make "valid" excuses to explain herself.

Historia: The absolutely rare individual who can snooze through horror movies so terrifying they have been banned in other countries, and blitz her way through horror games with such relative ease that she may as well be speed-running. This makes her sound like a great buddy to have; but most of the time, she's not. She is actually sadistic enough to trick her buddy into walking right into a jumpscare. She will comfort them after the fact, though.

Some modern high school AU stuff nobody asked for, but I feel like scribbling down. :)

Eren: That guy in homeroom who has a resting bitch face and can be rough around the edges, depending on who is interacting with him coughcoughJeancough; but once people get past that, he is an absolute sweetie. He’s one of those super rare “Angry Mom Friends,” like if someone is giving you shit, he will jump to your defense and give that asshole quadruple the shit. Most of the time it works and scares them off. The rare times it doesn’t work, he calls Mikasa for backup. He also works as a part-time model; and despite being only a part-timer he is very popular and shows up in a good handful of magazines, which plays a part in him gaining some admirers in school. (But for some reason, the ladies are a little more scared to approach him than the guys are…) Nobody has a clue how he’s so gorgeous like that, though having a doctor for a dad and a health nut for a mom certainly helps. Like, he just looks great in anything and everything he puts on.

Mikasa: With how quiet she is, people who very rarely talk to her would never guess that she is the captain of the girls’ basketball team. She is one of two of Eren’s childhood friends, and Eren always makes a point to try and show up to almost all of her games to cheer her on. If he can’t make it, he always finds time to watch recordings. Mikasa also buys every magazine that Eren has done shoots for, but she will never admit it; and whenever someone comes over she always crams them some place where nobody will find them. Her mom already teases her enough… She is responsible for scaring the girls and some of the guys. Flirt with Eren at your own risk.

Armin: Eren’s other childhood friend. He’s part of their school’s decathlon team and has always brought them to first place, and if not first, then second. Naturally, this makes him a great study buddy; and he has a knack for making studying a fun activity, like gambling snacks and pastries over which answer is the correct one. (So far, Mikasa is in the lead with her goddamn apple-cinnamon jelly donuts and rainbow cake rolls). He used to be a frequent target for bullying, but after bringing his school home first place several times, very few are bold enough to risk picking on him without facing the faculty’s wrath. He can sometimes be seen helping out with photoshoots that Eren is present for. (He is also aware of Mikasa’s “attitude” towards Eren’s admirers, and thinks it’s the most hilarious ever.)

Jean: That guy who thinks and acts like he’s cool, and some people will roll their eyes while Eren will actually butt heads with him. Sometimes, it might even spark a fistfight, and it’s his best friend Marco who has to rein him in. At the end of the day, however, Jean really is a pretty cool guy. He has an obvious crush on Mikasa and is always trying to impress her, which tends to involve trying to show up Eren in some way or, as much as he hates, kissing up to him (which almost never happens, because Eren can see right through him). He’s also a part-time model and Eren’s toned figure and overall natural beauty pisses off Jean to no end, since he has to work his ass off to even get to Eren’s level. (This doesn’t mean they can’t act civil, and both are known to defend each other from uncomfortable/unwanted advances.)

Marco: Jean’s best friend who is more mild-mannered. He ends up having to apologize for his attitude towards Eren quite often. He’s in decathlon with Armin, though he can also be seen helping out photoshoots that Jean is participating in. It occasionally leads to run-ins with Armin, and the two grab a coffee or tea while they talk about their futures. Marco is stuck deciding if he wants to be in the medical field healing people, or law enforcement working security.

Annie: A basketball player alongside Mikasa. The two girls tend to butt heads, similar to Jean and Eren. Annie occasionally flirts with Eren for fun, and sometimes he flirts back, which really grinds MIkasa’s gears. Annie has picked up on that, and sometimes, if they’re in the same room, she will deliberately flirt with Eren to tick off the other girl. Eren, of course, has no idea why Mikasa goes off like that. Eventually, Annie stops the flirting when she starts hanging out with Armin, whose cute nerdiness somehow has this magical effect of making her feel a bit mushy.

Bertolt: That freaking titan in the halls who unintentionally either becomes an obstacle for the short people trying to get to class like, “Sir? Excuse me, sir? SIR? Can you scootch over? CAN YOU MOVE FASTER?” or he ends up going a little further ahead when walking with someone and they are griping at him like, “Can you please slow down you freaking Sasquatch!?” If it’s with someone he doesn’t know very well, he gets a little flustered and apologizes. If it’s with someone he’s close to, though, he straight up laughs. If it’s with Annie, he will fear for his legs. One would be forgiven for thinking he’s in sports with how tall he is, like basketball or volleyball; but no, he is your average student.

Reiner: Has the typical image of a football player, and is actually the football captain, but he has a genuinely fantastic personality. He is not afraid to stand up against bullies and will gladly be a bodyguard against creeps. It is really difficult (if not impossible) to dislike or even hate this guy, even for the least social people. He likes to work out and goes jogging in the morning and evening, and sometimes he’ll invite his schoolmates to run with him. Bertolt and Annie are common workout buddies for him. Reiner also has a subtle crush on Krista, though he supports her relationship with Ymir. (Though as Armin often says, “Humans have two hands for a reason.)

Connie: The star of the school’s track team. This zany speed demon is responsible for some of the most ridiculous shenanigans in the halls, from accidentally spilling a bucket of water all over Jean (and they are very lucky it was only water and not paint) to deliberately pranking Principal Shadis. He can be hyper at times and is definitely the class clown. He has a raw talent for getting people to smile and crack up, and he milks it for everything it’s worth, because there is nothing nicer to him than being able to brighten everybody’s day.

Sasha: One of the wing spikers on the girls’ volleyball team, as well as their ace. She is a massive foodie and loves hanging with Eren because of his mom’s healthy and delicious cooking, and they know a lot of good places to get similar foods. At school, if she didn’t bring lunch from home, she will either get a really big lunch or ask for seconds. If she’s not working out with her team, then she’s working out with either Annie or Mikasa. She is also Connie’s partner-in-crime. Watch your back if you don’t want a snowball down your shirt in the winter.

Krista/Historia: The illegitimate daughter of the unscrupulous CEO of Reiss Corporation, her guise as "Krista Lenz” is for security reasons. She is a cheerleader, an office aide for the school’s clinic and a part-time model, the last of which sees her occasionally hanging out with Eren to Mikasa’s dismay. She likes helping people in general, whether it be her agent or the photographers during shoots, or simply helping an old lady across the street. She looks up to her big half-sister, Frieda, who is the Reiss family heiress and a renowned supermodel, especially since Frieda purposefully moved into Krista’s apartment to keep her company and encourage her to go out and make friends. Frieda also made sure to teach her little sister to not take anybody’s bullshit. Eren and Jean are feisty enough towards creeps, but Krista is quite possibly the feistiest of the three despite her small stature. If she spots a creep, she will verbally bite their head off and chase them away before they can even try to approach, and she is certainly not afraid to get physical. It’s because of this attitude that she still requires bodyguards…for the creeps’ physical safety.

Ymir: That snarky jerk in class people know very little about and Krista’s number one fangirl. Her wit and sarcasm are unparalleled, even when compared to Annie or Mikasa, though she does loosen up a little with the meeker ones like Armin. She can straight up destroy an overbearing teacher with her criticism (and she doesn’t gi;ve a crap if it lands her in detention or at the guidance counselor’s, she knows she’s right). She is always seen at every single one of Krista’s photoshoots. Hell, she’s the camerawoman.

BONUS

Mina: One of Annie’s closest friends. She always hangs ;out with her during lunch and afterschool, as well as their other schoolmates. While she is not a manager for any of the teams, she still keeps track of their schedules and brings refreshments, like honeyed lemon slices or water bottles. All the sports players and cheerleaders appreciate her for this.

Floch: That kind of guy who, like Jean, thinks and acts like he’s cool. Unlike Jean, he really isn’t, and he can be pretty annoying in a way that is more grating and not as lighthearted. While he didn’t like him at first, Floch has grown very attracted to Eren, and has tried to ask him out once except it ended in Mikasa throwing him into a garbage can. The feeling is not mutual, unfortunately, and Eren has dropped plenty of hints that he’s not interested. Floch failed to catch any of them.

Hitch: One of Annie’s closest friends. She loves to party and gossip, and is partially responsible for a few mishaps. Annie usually has to talk her out of going to the crazier parties to make sure she doesn’t get arrested. At the very least, Annie tags along to keep an eye on her.

Down the Vtuber Rabbit Hole We Gooooo!!!

So my buddies and I have been following some vtuber groups (ex: Hololive, Nijisanji, Vox Monsters Project, etcetera) and my brain came up with this crack AU, so enjoy: 

Eren: Surprisingly awkward and shy in his debut stream, but his excitement is evident in how he gets the hang of talking to his audience and quickly regains the confidence he initially had offscreen. Immediately gains a few admirers because of his (avatar’s) appearance, especially his pretty eyes, and how adorable he quickly proves himself to be. It’s something that tends to make him blush and flustered because he doesn’t think he's that attractive or cute. (“You guys are blowing it way out of proportion!”) Most of his streams afterward tend to start off with him eager for whatever he has planned. He also turns out to be very good at teaching German, and one of his streams has him taking his audience out on a virtual coffee date (or so people like to call it) while going over the basics. Just brace yourself for the puns.

“Eren’t you guys excited today~?”

Levi (Eren’s manager) in the chat: B(

At one point, Eren mentions learning Japanese so he can communicate with his senpais in Hizuru (and gossip with Mikasa offscreen). Brace yourself for the really bad Japanese puns.

He also provides great advice and tips for housecleaning, and one of his streams was nothing but him restoring, cleaning and polishing some really rusty cookware and cutlery. It sparked the running gag of chat calling him the perfect househusband until Eren points out why he isn’t: his cooking is edible, but whenever he tries something more complicated, it usually ends in something catching on fire.

Chat, watching Eren’s disastrous cooking/baking streams: YABAIIIIII!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Armin in the chat: Σ(⊙ ⊙|||) OH GOD NO!!!!!!

Armin: SUPER shy during his debut, like, oh lord somebody help this boy. He is so nervous he almost can’t even speak, write/type or read properly. It’s not until Eren and Hange (Armin’s manager) pop up in the chat to encourage and make him laugh (or die inside with puns) that Armin gradually slides into his little niche, and starts adorably rambling about his interests. While some of his streams are the usual gaming streams, some of them are also casually reviewing scientific subjects and specimens (plants, bugs, aquatic life, space, weather, and so on) and they end up being much more enjoyable than the usual school lectures in real life. It may or may not be because of his comedic commentary over them:

*looking at deep sea hatchetfish faces* “These probably look like somebody’s sleep paralysis demons. I mean, look at those soulless eyes…”

“I heard that some girl actually ate a tarantula with ramen noodles.”

Eren in the chat: Yo! Water you up to?

Armin: *quietly cringing at Eren’s water pun*

With how quiet Armin can be, his skills on the drums and at rhythm games are the last thing anybody expects out of him. Like…this boy is playing Friday Night Funkin’ on the hardest difficulty, and MILF is nothing to him. Nothing; and he has a NEAR-PERFECT COMBO on E V E R Y  D A M N  S O N G.

Hange in the chat: WHAT KIND OF BLACK MAGIC IS THIS

Mikasa: During her debut, she acts and sounds very close to what you would expect from her mostly stoic appearance: quiet, calm and gentle, but can be firm when needed and doesn’t take anybody’s shit. Greets her audience with a soft-spoken and soothing voice, perfect for people who like ASMR and is overall very relaxing. When she decides she feels like doing a little karaoke, the audience is left expecting a slow lullaby, an elegant love song, or maybe that Summertime song floating around on Tiktok…and then she slams their expectations out of the water through a fantastic cover of a J-pop/J-rock song.

Eren in the chat: *spamming glowstick icons* LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Armin in the chat: YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Every now and then, she does a duet cover with someone; and in multilingual songs, she does the Japanese part while the other person does English or whatever language it’s in. 10/10 guaranteed to be a banger.

She also plays an acoustic guitar in one of her karaoke streams, and happily mentions Eren teaching her how to play.

Jean: Very confident and suave…only to fumble almost immediately after. Eren even calls him out on it in the chat and it sparks a hilarious argument that hears Jean getting called “Horseface,” and Jean outing himself for having a crush on Mikasa. Jean has to pull the loading screen back up (while claiming “technical difficulties”) so he can regain his composure; except he forgot to mute himself, so everybody gets to hear the comedy gold mine that is Eren’s high-pitched screeching and Jean’s voice cracking until the latter finally returns. However, the moment someone in the chat starts borderline bullying Jean over his “Horseface” nickname, Eren gets very upset about it. This does not go unnoticed.

Chat: TsundEren confirmed.

They occasionally end up having some quiet and/or “totally not gay” moments during collabs together.

Marco: Jean’s best buddy offscreen. Shy and awkward, but also very calming and soothing. Hums while the loading screen is up and he’s preparing offscreen, and gets flustered when he realizes that his audience heard everything (not that it’s a problem, they actually enjoyed it). His quiet laugh is so precious. Demonstrates his piano skills and immediately charms his audience. Everybody is in love with this boy. He is also commonly paired with Jean in collab streams, and both of them have admitted to leaning towards the other most of the time when it comes to planning collabs and deciding who will be their partner for the collab in question. Marco also, like Mikasa, has a knack for doing ASMR videos, and they easily put people to sleep (which is his intended goal in such videos, as he wants his viewers to be able to relax and rest easy).

“Let’s all try to get along, okay?” *heart and smile emojis*

Connie: Warning: turn. Your volume. Down. “YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! KONNICHIWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! GOOD MORNING/EVENING EVERYBODYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!” In case it still needs to be said, this boy is very animated and occasionally out-of-control, and unintentionally establishes himself as not being very bright as well. People wonder if he even sleeps with how much energy he almost always has; but, he does indeed need rest like all human beings; and once in a very rare pink super moon, he starts a stream while still in his early morning/very late night haze. For the most part, however, if you need a living alarm clock, this is ya boi.

“Even a hyperactive knucklehead like me knows how to wind down… Well, knowing how I am, I kind of have to, otherwise I’d never get any sleep!”

One of the handful of people who enjoys puns and actively enables them. Sometimes he and Eren get into pun battles that leave Armin slowly dying inside.

Sasha: "I am here, and I am hungry!“ Her debut stream has her cooking a delicious homestyle recipe that gets devoured in mere minutes after it’s finished. In fact, a good majority of her streams that are not gaming streams are cooking/baking streams that leave her audience very hungry. One of her favorite childhood games is Cooking Mama, and sometimes she’ll try to recreate a recipe from some kind of game/movie/book/tv series, like Ninja Turtle’s pizza gyoza or Genshin Impact’s jade parcels.

"Can’t wait to see what you guys make in the kitchen!”

Reiner: Everybody is taken aback when they learn in the debut stream that this hunk of a man’s age range actually between late adolescent and very young adult like whaaaaaaaaaaat!? He looks like he’s at least in his mid-to-late twenties! His first gaming stream is, of course, Ring Fit Adventure. Annie, Bertolt, Connie and Mikasa are his most common partners during multiplayer.

Chat: YOU ALREADY HAVE BIGASS MUSCLES WHY ARE YOU WORKING OUT EVEN MORE!?!?!?!?!?

Also has some of the worst dad jokes up his sleeve.

Bertolt: Very shy and reserved in his debut stream, more so than even Armin and Marco. It takes a little nudging from his buddies for him to open up a little and ease into talking with his viewers. Nothing too eventful happens because he’s so shy, but it doesn’t really do any harm because the viewers can’t help but find him cute.

Chat: Did not think it was possible for a +6-foot boi to be so cute.

Does not make puns, and does not actively try to make puns; but he will laugh whenever someone makes them.

Annie: Also reserved in her debut, but definitely not shy. Casually mentions kicking Eren’s ass once, and it’s confirmed by Eren himself in the chat. Slowly but eventually opens up and finally offers a smile, and maybe even a small laugh when Eren says something silly to get her to laugh…until he makes a pun and she instantly removes him from the chat.

Chat: *PANIK* YES MA'AM.

Armin in the chat: …Does this mean I’m safe here?

Of course, there is the occasional handful of puns, but they usually scroll by fast enough to go unnoticed until after a stream.

Krista/Historia: Starts her debut stream with the friendliest “Hellooooo~!” Demonstrates her talent in drawing, and it looks wonky; but that’s because she’s drawing with her non-dominant hand. When she switches proper, the copied and polished drawing is gorgeous. Her talent is only matched by Armin, who frequently sketches whatever he finds when he goes outside (like a kitten or a beetle). Some of her drawing streams are of her friends (like Eren or her manager Ymir). Sometimes, her collabs with Armin involve making a masterpiece together, while giving their viewers tips and advice on how to improve their own art, and it works. Connie reportedly went from drawing “blocky humans to chonky humans.”

“It’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time. Everything takes practice, no matter how small. What matters the most is that you enjoy it.” *heart and smile emoji*

Ymir: Not one of the vtubers. She was introduced by Historia, who created her avatar in case Ymir ever felt like jumping in during her streams. While Historia’s channel is officially her own, it’s pretty much acknowledged that the two ladies are practically co-owners. Her snark and wit are the stuff of legends.

Laughing Headcanons

Rarely do we ever see the cadets laughing their asses off until their stomachs start hurting and/or they’re coughing, so here’s how I imagined they would be when laughing really hard:

Eren: He starts with a brief inhale, trying to regain control of himself; but he fails and exhales into wheezing, and then comes the laughing. He also has a quirk similar to his mother’s of raising a fist near his mouth like he wants to cover it, but doesn’t make it all the way there because he’s already letting loose, so what’s even the point? A lot of people think he’s adorable when he gets like that, and even Jean thinks it’s illegal for a guy like Eren to be so damn cute when laughing.

Mikasa: Tries not to smile, since she’s used to being the mostly stoic one and not reacting to much; but then she ducks her head because she’s losing her shit and tries to hide it behind her scarf like no, honey, please, show us your smile, it’s precious…! At first glance, people who don’t know her very well think she might be angry at something because of the trembling until they get a little closer, and they realize she’s actually laughing. If it’s a really lucky day, they might even get to hear a chuckle or even a wheeze.

Armin: His laugh is more breathy, like a huff and a puff. When he’s really losing it, he starts sounding wheezy, like the high-pitched sound of steam coming from a tea kettle. Eventually it’ll end with him coughing a little bit because he’s laughing so much, and he has to take a sip of water to clear his throat. Heaven help him if someone or something happens to make him laugh while he’s drinking.

Jean: Very loud wheezing noises, slow and heavy and with a very big grin going from ear to ear. Eren thinks he looks even more like a horse, and it doesn’t help that Jean now nearly sounds like one, too. Sometimes he laughs so hard his stomach aches a little bit and he hugs himself while doubling over in a small coughing fit.

Marco: Light and airy, super soft and cheerful, and he has a tendency to cover his mouth with his hand. His laugh is so beautiful it has the natural ability to make a lot of people smile and fall in love, romantically or platonically, when they first hear it.

Annie: Snorts, and then devolves into subtle chuckling while ducking her head down to try and hide it. Sometimes, she’ll even pull up her hoodie in an unfortunately not so obscure effort to hide her face…only for someone like Connie or Sasha to yank her hood back down, if she’s unfortunate enough.

Bertolt: Ducks his head down and kind of hunches over a little as he does so, and he doesn’t even notice that he does the second one. He laughs quietly and it sounds breathy, and it is so surprising to others coming from a guy as tall as him, but it is also so very adorable. If Reiner’s around, he might lean on him while laughing with him.

Reiner: Very loud and hearty laughing, so loud you can almost hear him from outside of the room with the door closed. It’s pretty much what anyone would expect from him, but it always manages to make someone smile along with him.

Krista/Historia: Soft and sweet, very lovely to listen to. Like Eren and Marco, she has a habit of bring her hand up to kind of cover her mouth. It’s very cute.

Ymir: Loud, hard and earsplitting cackling like holy shit, it sounds like a bunch of dinnerware falling out of a cabinet or a really high shelf and crashing and shattering like a fireworks show on the floor. She’ll hug herself and double over and wheeze and cough before having to take several gulps of water, and laughing some more but thankfully a lot softer.

Sasha: Laughs so damn hard and often repeatedly slaps whatever is nearby, whether it be a table or someone’s back. On rare occasions if she really can’t help herself, she might break a little wind, for which she will apologize for while still laughing. Very contagious and will make others laugh along with her.

Connie: Ya favorite bald boi cackles and wheezes, loud and obnoxious, and instead of just doubling over he just lets himself fall and will even start kicking the air. Sometimes he’ll hug someone (usually Sasha) and drag them down with him in his laughing fit, and he’ll lay there for a brief while until it’s finally time to get back up.

My friend and I were talking about an AU with a slightly happier ending for Eren and co. (no Liberio attack and no Rumbling, but at the cost of some other serious shit happening) and some of the much smaller details they came up with when talking about headcanons for Eren were so good to me I can’t help but share: 

At some very brief point during the basement scene, Eren came across his late mother’s old cookbook. He took it with him, and even though he initially thought even a mere memory of Carla during happier times might be a little too much, it proved to be great source of comfort food…once he managed to get over the hurdles of not burning down the kitchen. After he gets the hang of the basics, it’s mostly just seasonings and taste from there. (Armin celebrates that Eren isn’t setting the kitchen on fire for once.)

He has everybody’s preferences figured out (provided he has the right materials). Armin prefers his tea with two sugars and two teaspoons of cream. Historia surprisingly likes coffee with three teaspoons of cream. Levi likes his tea with no sugar or cream, just straight up black like his tiny and grumpy old man soul.

He has his mother’s knack for balance during her barmaid days. If he’s feeling particularly flashy, he might even do that thing where a waiter carries a tray full of fancy drinks with one hand high at face level. Ya boi’s got more class than Jean Horseface Kirstein.

Eren also came across some old medical textbooks that belonged to his dad. He took those with him too, and while he is definitely far from an expert, he can still provide some pretty good first-aid. At some point, he becomes one of Hange’s errand boys when they’re not testing on him, and they later teach him how to administer some drugs.

Reiner, pinned down after losing a fight: “H—hey now, can’t you just put that somewhere else…?”

Eren, holding a syringe with a sedative: “Somewhere else? You want it in your asscheek then, Shitty Muscles?”

He upped his cleaning game over the last four years. Every single corner of a room he cleans literally will not have a speck of dust, and that includes under the tables, tiny space between beds and couches and the floor, and in between the hinges of the door to the doorframe. You can almost see your reflection in wooden surfaces. Only Levi knows how Eren managed that last one.

He’s become much more chill when he expresses himself, but he’s sassier, too. How snarky he is depends on how tired he is and whether he had his morning caffeine. (The following chat is but an example. Whether it might actually happen is up to the reader.)

Whenever Eren gets daring enough to be cheeky with Levi, it typically ends in the latter kicking the former in the spine.

My favorite part of the convo between me and my bud is when they started coming up with small headcanons about Eren’s hair. There are posts floating around comparing his hair to other characters’ hair (Grisha, Gabi, Frieda, you probably know the ones). In this AU, they pictured Eren instead with a ponytail like Sasha or Hange, and when it gets long enough he ties it all up in a bun like Annie, instead of a half-up like Gabi. In the epilogue, Eren’s hair is in a loose side-ponytail similar to his mom Carla’s, and he also ends up resembling her even more than he already did. Let’s hope he doesn’t die in someone else’s origin story…

Mikasa is generally a quiet person, but she’ll talk Eren’s ear off. When they’re together, she always has stories to tell him and just likes to share her thoughts with him. Eren loves when she comes in to share the random little thoughts she had during the day. 

They love to hold hands. In public, at home, it’s just a way that they both communicate and understand each other’s love and care. 

Eren is a night owl and Mikasa is a morning person. So Eren’s got a built in alarm clock, and Mikasa’s given weekly training to survive New Year’s Eve. 

They love to dress up. Fancy event? They’re so gorgeous, it’s not even funny. Halloween? Most creative costume. Theme party? Best dressed couple.

Mikasa is the only person Eren will cry around willingly. He hates crying in front of others, but he trusts her enough to be vulnerable, and she is honored by that. 

Eren gets frustrated when he isn’t good at something right away. While it does sting when Mikasa is naturally good at something, it’s more him down on himself for not being good enough. Mikasa’s learned how to recognize these moods, and does her best to remind him that they’re just playing a game or that he just needs practice. And she NEVER lets him win because HE’D KNOW!

Mikasa loves to take pictures of them together (or just Eren alone, or of the places/things they visit/do together). She makes a ton of scrapbooks for them, and Eren is just amazed by her crafting abilities, and melts at how much she values each little image of their lives together. 

They LOVE to dance together! 

They are so into all of those cheesy couple things. Matching sweaters? His and hers mugs? Socks with phrases that complete each other? They are HERE FOR IT!

Mikasa leaves Eren post it notes to help him remember things he needs to get done, chores around the house, etc. When they get married, Mikasa leaves post it notes with wedding tasks for Eren to complete each day because she knows he wants to help but would not be able to remember them off the top of his head.

Anon Asked: Hello! I have recently stumbled upon your blog and I find it refreshing from all the stuff going on lately. If it isn't any trouble, can I ask for some appreciation for Marco? Thanks!

Marco is a great leader. He is incredibly responsible and so good at reading people. He’s compassionate and understanding, and can really understand what motivates people, and he uses that to be a solid leader, rallying people positively. 

He is a remarkable dancer! He’s strangely flexible, and loves to pull that out at parties. He often initiates dance parties with his friends, and loves to start swing dancing/partner dancing with his friends to get them laughing and having fun. 

He’s a big reader. He loves to read books from all genres, and gives very well-rounded reviews about what he reads. He loves to read for a few minutes before bed each night to settle after the day. 

Marco is a hopeless romantic. He falls HARD when he falls for people, and his close friends know just how deeply he loves. When he’s in a relationship, expect grand romantic gestures cause he’s the king of all the cheesy stuff. 

He cannot cook to save his life. He can bake, and he can make pancakes and eggs, but that’s it. Good luck if he offers to make dinner. 

He’s the one who starts the group chats for his friend groups. He also names them, and usually spams them with funny gifs and memes to make people laugh. 

Marco gives amazing hugs. 

He gains weight easily. He’s a very active person by nature, and is usually engaging in some form of exercise just cause he loves the feeling of the adrenaline rush that comes with it, but he’s perfectly confident not having a super toned body. Better for hugs, he says. 

His favorite household chore is laundry, and his absolute least favorite is vacuuming. 

Marco is very good at remembering people. He never forgets a face, and rarely forgets a name. He also knows the birthdays of all of those important to him.
