Sitting on the pavement with nothing but a sorry excuse for a sword next to him. He continues to stare at the ground, a twig in one hand poking at the cement. “….What do you want?”

Ah, so you were caught red-handed. A chill runs down your spine when he speaks to you, clearly irritated by the tone of his voice. You’re embarrassed and freeze up but with his question, you feel compelled to answer. It’d be rude to just keep him waiting, after all. 

“You just seemed troubled...I thought I could ask what’s wrong or if you needed any assistance, that’s all...”

Oh god, this isn’t his house.

Doppo is quick to rub the sleep out of his eyes as he springs up from the couch he had sought sanctuary in last night after a long, exhausting day of working overtime and being forced to go to an expensive hostess club with a couple of colleagues until several glasses of inebriating drinks almost bled his wallet dry. He did not enjoy a second of it which is his fault because he could have just said no and headed home with a clear head.

Now he has to pay for his reckless actions with a splitting headache and a mistake that could send him to prison for trespassing. This wouldn’t have happened if he was just back in his old apartment building where finding his apartment, even in a drunken stupor, is as easy as ABC.

So far, he hasn’t seen anyone in the living room so perhaps this is a good chance for him to get his things and get the fuck out. With that in mind, Doppo grabs his briefcase and his suit jacket but just as finally gets up on his feet, he looks up and inadvertently locks eyes with a girl he’s never seen before.

Since you just arrived here yourself, you weren’t sure who your roommates were exactly. You knew their names, based on the paperwork you were given, but you hadn’t actually seen anyone yet. It was probably for the best, given how little you cared for small talk. Having had woken up early, you decided to get a head start on making breakfast for everyone, hoping that maybe it would be a nice pick-me-up and a way to introduce yourself. You quietly cook up some miso soup and rolled omelettes over rice before you heard shuffling, followed by a young man who was heading off. Ah, was he heading off to work...? 

“Good morning...” came your response, fidgeting with your apron before eyeing the door and then back at the young man. “Um...I made breakfast. Would you like some before you headed out?”

You hoped you’d run into someone from your world here, not knowing if anyone was here. You’d only been here a couple days now but you still weren’t really adjusting too well to it. After all, you were taken from the only home and life you’d ever known-- anyone in your shoes would be overwhelmed too, at least, that’s what you thought.

Keeping your gaze leveled, you wandered around until you noticed a familiar figure in the nearby distance. The closer you got, the more obvious it became who this person was.

You weren’t certain why you made your way here--at least, why this place specifically. You were lost and confused, scared and seemingly alone. By the time you managed to find a nice cafe, you were hungry and so you meekly wandered in, eyes lowered just to see the glass that contained the pastries behind it. It reminded you of home as you found yourself at the front of the line, hoping to get something to eat while you figured out your situation.

Taking another step, you finally look up at the drink menu before turning to look at the employee.

“May I have an iced tea and a slice of strawberry cake, please...?”
