SKETCHUP
Here is a design that i created on sketchup for the layout of my exhibition. I Have a Mac on a stand where my Wix blog would be so everyone can go on it and look through it. Above it i have my posters of my photography that i want to hang up. This isn’t the final just an idea that i created.
A BLOG POST
I want to share one of my blog post on Wix on here.
LET'S TALK ABOUT COLOURISM
Colourism is discrimination based on skin colour, I think that colourism is a very important subject to talk about has most people don't see coloursim as a thing, but in reality happens almost everyday in some country and in the makeup community. The issue of colourism is deep-seated in many communities of colour as a direct result of colonisation and the Westernisation of beauty standards, as well as certain linkage to class and social status. In certain countries, issue of coloursim has led to both systemic discrimination of darker skinned individuals and the popularity of harmful cosmetic products, such as bleaching creams and soaps in countries such as India, China and many more.
WHITENING PRODUCTS
Due to very harsh chemicals used in lighting creams, it is recommended they are only ever used by a dermatologist for the treatment of conditions such as vitiligo. However many can be brought illegally or at shops and could contain banned substances, steroids and bleaching agents that are not allowed to be used in cosmetics. These are aborted into the skin and can cause illness and skin damage including; skin bleaching that is permanent, thinning of the skin, uneven colouration and redness and irritation.
THE MAKEUP INDUSTRY
The exclusion of one of largest markets in the cosmetics industry is largely due to the issue of colourism. An offshoot of racism colourism regards the preferential treatment given towards people possessing. Most often, lighter complexions within a certain racial group. Recently in the makeup community big brands like Fenty Beauty, Huda Beauty, Mac Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Nars and more are coming out with 30+ shade range of foundation and concealer. I think this is a really big step that they are talking and really showing how it should be done. There has been scandals in the past about big companies who came out with a really poor shade range, fans were really upset and hurt by the shade range options as they couldn't buy the product because there was no shade that matched their skin tone, this was also seen as a racism. I think that the scandals are what made these other companies take a big step and improve the game. I use to ask myself all the time when I see brides or girls wearing makeup who live in Mauritius (where i was born) why their foundation colour was 4 times lighter to what their skin tone actually are. This would bother me has i'm one who loves a good foundation match. When i visited Mauritius a couple of times in the last few years I realised that 1, they mostly do it purposely because having a lighter complexion is associated with beauty and being more beautiful. Lighter skin girls in Mauritius also get treated differently to a darker complexion girl. The second reason why is that they lack access to foundation shades as there isn't many shades. I went in many stores and in most of them they only had about 12 shades of all medium colour base. By talking about colourism within brands and countries in this blog post I hope to raise awareness to first change these old mindsets of that the lighter you are, the more beautiful you are. I hope that makeup companies provide a good service to were they don't leave anyone out.
JONAS JENSEN
Jonas Jensen is a beauty photographer. The company JonasJ.com was founded in 2003 and has been focusing on shooting fashion models ever since. After a couple of years shooting mainly lingerie, fashion and beauty, Jonas decided to specialise in beauty photography and focus 100% on that. http://www.jonasj.com/about-beauty-photographer-jonas-jensen/
Jonas Jensen was one of my inspiration for my photoshoot. I really like how he captures the looks up close and really gets the details of the makeup looks on the model. Sometimes the camera cant catch the details of someone’s makeup, but he really made work. His work is very intense and bold, every image he has on his website are breathtaking.
What Should I Blog About? It’s important to know specifically what your focus will be. A focused blog makes blogging easier. Here are some examples. Reviews. If you’re a product junkie, you can write helpful reviews. Makeup artistry. If you’ve got skills, you can show off your looks. Swatches. Good swatches can be hard to find. Everybody loves dupes. Budget beauty. You could focus on drugstore and affordable brands. Nails. If you love nail polish and have a talent for nail art, you could make it your main focus. Jane-of-all-trades. If you love ALL things beauty, you can figure out your focus as you blog.

Sometimes thinking of blog ideas to write can be difficult, this website helped me on things that I should write about. The quote that I got from their website was really helpful.

Grooming hacks
As part of my project proposal, I said that I wanted to create content for all ages and all genders so everybody can find something useful to them on my blog.
These are the tips and diys pictures I made for my blog. I wanted to create something people can read for quick and easy tips about all things beauty hacks, skin care hacks and hacks in general instead of writing a whole blog post about these little hacks.
I created them on a app called Photoshop Mix

If you're wondering "Should I Start A Blog?" then consider these 11 things first. It's the list that I wish I had before I started my first blog!
This article helped me in decision making for creating a blog.
BLOG OR MAGAZINE?
For my final project i started off with wanting to create a magazine as i have experience and i enjoy making them. But as i go deeper in my project i find that it might be more suitable to create a blog/website for my project. I feel like with a blog I’m able to talk more and express my thoughts and opinion on my topic and also a blog would be more educational, and at the same time i can post all my photography and edits on the blog. Because i also want to have a section giving tips, trick, hacks and DIYS it would be more suitable to write about it in a blog post way. My topic of Beauty is a never ending topic, as new products come outs, new creations and new trends. I feel creating a magazine would hold me back as a magazine limits me in what i can put on there but, with a blog i can always update and post more weekly, daily or monthly.
I think the only reason why i wanted to create a magazine was being i was comfortable in making one. i’m use to it was i made a magazine for stage two. But i think that i should try something new for me and create the blog. I just need to research about how i can make one or is there a website that helps me create one.
This picture is from my experimental photoshoot. I edited it on photoshop and added some yellow flowers along her arms.
Experimenting: I created this magazine like page. I made this on photoshop. I wanted to create like personal page where people get to talk about what their wearing on their face product wise. I started off with doing one about me and what products I was using that day.
