naughty boy is everything it’s silly and bright and fun and touching and defiant and perfect and i love it so much. it’s a song that nobody else could ever make because of how perfectly it captures the spirit of pentagon and only pentagon. when you boil it down the song is just like “fuck you, we’re going to be happy!!!!!” and i feel that in my entire body when i listen to this song….. i also think about how at the time people thought the song was trying to be shine 2.0 or it was fake happy but honestly if you think that you’re not even paying attention to the song like YES it’s upbeat and fun but there’s also this bittersweet and even angry undercurrent saying don’t tell me what to do, i know what you think and i’m still going to be happy no matter what. it’s a more jaded sequel to shine in that way and i think it’s also a great representation of pentagon’s music as a whole: stubbornly distinctive but ultimately joyful and full of heart
