I was rewatching the Lego Movie 2 and something stuck out to me. During the intro, Mayhem is specifically looking for leaders. And when it comes to Batman, whose pride is impossibly large, or Unikitty, who is a princess, or Metalbeard, who is the captain of his own ship, this makes sense. What doesn't make sense is the fact that Benny's there. He may have just gotten pulled in trying to help his friends, but considering the fact that he has as many leadership skills as Emmet, it wouldn't be too surprising if the ship came back, booted him off, and then left again. Or, if Vitruvius or President Business took his place on the ship (the latter of which would be objectively hilarious). And while narratively, it does make sense for Bianca to steal him as well, and the fact that Emmet needs to be alone to get manipulated by Rex, it would be absolutely hilarious to watch Benny fly about in the background, going crazy over Rex's ship, or building his own ship that can easily maneuver around the astroids, or getting into beef with Rex's raptors. Honestly, it'd just be fun to see Benny accidentally get in the way of all of Rex's plans in general. It also opens up the possibility of a second Benny being there, having spent time with Rex in Undar and helping him keep his sanity using the tricks he learned in space, or a secondary Benny popping up with a steel chair at an integral point, having been stranded somewhere other than where Rex did and got to Undar too late to save him.
