Watched superman the other day and Clark Kent (2025) gives Virgil Tracy (maybe a bit Scott too) in my mind like dark hair, buff, strong but so so sweet and caring!!!

Ps the movie was awesome, super recommend!

yes!! honestly i feel like a superman AU but with any Tracy works just fine! God, I grew up with my parent’s Superman comics and shows. Sometimes I feel like Clark Kent practically raised me because I still follow a lot of his teachings even now.

Something about boy-scout characters are just 🤌

Especially with how much in common the Tracy family has with Superman. It’s just perfect.

Clark shares the same teleologically moral aspects as all the Tracys. They both believe in the priority of life, they see a great value in life no matter how big or small, good or bad.

They both excel in power: Where Superman is anatomically superior to humankind, the Tracy Family are technologically superior.

But they don’t consider themselves superior. In fact, they don’t care about how they excel to others, what only truly matters to them is that they use their form of power to help and save those who need it.

They don’t prefer to use their supremacy for their own benefit, instead, they find fulfilment when they’re using their power/technology selflessly for others. Because again, they see great value in all life, and preserving life.

In summary? Being the good guys is what Superman and The Tracys have in common. But they’re not the good guys because they can be good, they’re the good guys because they truly believe in concept of good and wish to exact that goodness.

I love rewatching thunderbirds and each time understanding more of the geology references as I go through my degree . Like yess Pacific plate mentioned and yay the seismic epicentre and ooo volcanic eruption from a cone volcano that was most likely andesitic and yess magnetic pole reversal!!!!

I will do my best to answer but I am probs not the most accurate source as I’m only a second year geology and biology student so if I’m incorrect please educate me 🙏 this also wasn’t an in depth topic covered in my courses so it’s not too much a of deep dive into it just stuff I learned in readings and lectures !! And also correct me if I’m wrong I don’t wanna spread misinformation

There isn’t actually a lot understood about pole reversals there is work trying to be understood about them tho they are pretty random and vary in occurrence right now we are in something called a normal polarity (so normal poles) and the last time we were in a reverse polarity was ~42,000. so around the time of Homo sapiens and Neanderthals I think my professor said some scientists this this maybe have been a contributing factor to there extinction as they were less equipped to adapt to any environmental changes. So if someone is like we are overdue for a pole reversals we highkey are not they are too statistically random for that to be backed

The way we know when previous reversals happen is through magnetostratigraphy through remnant magnetism where magnetic mineral basically freeze in line with the poles as they cool (reach curie temperature)

There is just theory’s on why this happens one of which being impact events such as subducting plate slabs cause a disruption in the earths geodynamo ( which cause the poles to it’s just the soild inner core surround by liquid outer core) .

The effects on earth would probably not be great because the earths magnetic field would be significantly weakened cause increase solar radiation not good this is where brains discussion of world hunger due to crops dying is probably backed by. Since larger animals are significantly harder to use to study the effects of pole reversals information comes from microfossils but in there end there is no statiscal evidence of correlation between the effects of pole reversal and microfossils extinction Wildlife animals that relay on the magnetic field for navigation would be really bad and migration would be done for pretty much till species adapted. There isn’t a lot on how much earth would be affected but I wouldn’t say Brains is far off from his assumptions.

Now the machine that’s causes the issue in the episode is talking more electro stuff (which I was not the most excited about learning I’m not much of a geophysics girly beyond seismics I am more of a palaeontologist ish type ) but magnetic and electricity are often surveyed together so it’s not a stretch to say the effect they machine would have would affect the earths geodynamo (although I haven’t read anything that says it would) idk if humans would have the power to effect something is big but also humans sometimes go beyond what we probably should and don’t have the best track record with leaving earth to do its thing (i just watched ocean the David documentary and humans are evil)

That is about as far as my knowledge goes here are the links of readings I did that helped me answer !! You def don’t have to read them I think when discussing science I should have references lol hastag misinformation is crappy!!! Okay imma stop now sorry for the yap but I hope it helped a little bit sorry if this makes no sense again I’m not really and expert on these things and am only a halfway through second year!!
