The problem with a conspiracy theory is, of course, the more you talk about it, the more interest people take in it.
Just leaving this excerpt from a completely unrelated article from this morning, lol
He is drawing attention to it, no one has been talking about anything except the failure of a stunt. I don’t know what the point of it is but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth
if i was a casual fan and i saw those tweets sent on his acct, i wouldn’t want to be part of his fanbase at all tbh. it’s so yikes and they know drawing attention to it just stirs up the fandom. they’ve known that for 15 years and larries aren’t gonna keep taking it. I’ve seen people deactivate/step away a lot today and considering the majority of his fanbase are, in fact, larries… it’s very silly to not keep the fandom happy. the back and forth we get, like the larry reel like and then dad yelling at us on twitter, is wild behaviour.
and the reason i lean so heavily on it being a member of his team or a “planned” moment, is not just that we’ve seen it all before, but i just can’t see a manager/PR person accepting their artist posting this shit (stunts real or not). not only would he be extremely heavily advised against it (because it’s bad for the fandom and his relationship with us, draws attention to people talking about these topics, makes him look like he’s easily threatened by rumours), but it just gives his fans whiplash and doesn’t create good headlines.
they try SO fucking hard to prove his stunts to us, that it has the exact opposite effect and it’s been that way for many, many years now. Idk what’s going on and i know that Jonesy is a useless PR guy, but come onnnnnnnn. he’s losing fans left right and centre. he’s an international touring artist, he’ll protect his career by not engaging in drama on twitter, as opposed to sabotaging it by being an absolute loose cannon.
It was a weirdly written tweet, with two topics that haven’t been on the timeline, and it’s such poor form it drives me mad. He’d be far better off with Harry’s strategy of not saying shit on Twitter at all.
And Twitter isn’t what it used to be. It used to be yelling into the void, communicating with fans, celebs being silly and tweeting each other, and now it’s just another tool like Instagram aka strictly marketing. Im sitting here watching him/them burn his parasocial relationship with this fandom to the absolute ground because they can’t get his image right. It’s exhausting and just all wrong for him
