There’s an incredible freedom in releasing and revealing the reality of where your relationship with God truly is. We spend such a great portion of our lives putting our best foot forward, presenting our togetherness to one another, and hiding the reality of our lives as though our brokenness or desert seasons are something to be ashamed of. When asked ‘how are you?’ We respond immediately with ‘good thanks!’ without even so much as a thought of how we ACTUALLY are. We have worked so hard to program our position on the outside to reflect the opposite of what is going on on the inside, and we have forgotten that by only sharing the highlights, by only admitting our successes — that we have become entirely un relatable as a people, and as a church. We have warped the truth of ‘spiritual maturity’ into some sort of idealistic perfection. We see people who 'seemingly’ have it all together and begin to idolize their relationship with God; subconsciously, we shift our focus away from Jesus and we find ourselves mimicking the things we see and hear, and rather than iron sharpening iron, we become cloth buffing cloth. We become a community of people shining egos, polishing positions and replicating one another rather than imitating Jesus Himself. Holy living isn’t something we learn from others, it isn’t something we create ourselves; it’s something we replicate in our own lives by focusing on the hands, feet, heart and teachings of Christ and His word. We need to throw off the shackles of shame, and share our hearts and lives with one another openly. Our moments in the desert are just as vital in shaping our faith and our relationship with God as our moments on the mountain top are. Our seasons of spiritual warfare, our seasons of temptation and our desire to stray. Our seasons of tribulation and ingratitude, our seasons of silence and our desire to create our own answers — these are integral to the development, advancement and maturation of who you are, and who you will become in Christ. So forget pretending and hiding, and live for an audience of one! Declare openly from wherever you are, that today your walk starts afresh. No more hiding. Only Jesus, only freedom!

To the isolated Christian, the guilt ridden Christian and the self-limiting Christian. To the hindered and halted Christian. To the herd following, fence wandering Christian. To the disillusioned, disheartened and disappointed Christian. To the burnt out, worn out, tired and broken Christian. To the seemingly invisible Christian. To the offended Christian, the heartbroken Christian and the Christian struggling to understand why. To the regretful Christian, the pessimistic Christian and the hesitant Christian. To the fearful, frustrated and doubtful Christian. To the sick, struggling, separated Christian. To the Christian who’s tired of praying for answers and knowledge they never seem to receive. To the Christian who can’t shake the unreasonable expectations, reach the unreachable heights and achieve the unattainable goals –– He sees you. He sees you as you are. He holds whatever distance you feel is between you in the palms of His hands, and He beckons you into His courts. He speaks life into the crevices of your offences and whispers serenity and tranquility into the eye of your storm. His love does not waiver based on your inability to feel it coursing through your veins; it is constant and sure. You will never be deleted, wiped out, eradicated, obliterated, removed or expunged from the realms of His grace –– Your ticket is and always has been Jesus; and no turmoil, commotion or disturbance will ever see your tickets validation expire. The exchange made for your place in His throne room is non refundable, untransferable and irreplaceable. Even in the depths of your anger and the pits of your losses, even in the corners of your offences and the valleys of your exhaustion –– He is steady, unchanging, immovable and firm in His adoration, affection and admiration for you. He requires no appointment to be made, no schedule to be checked and no list to be consulted; you are welcome in His place of peace, always. His signature of approval - your right of passage into His throne room, is engraved on the palms of His hands; so if you’re going to run in this season –– run home. Give Him all that you are, and allow Him to replace your wounds with wings.

“Imagine how differently you might approach each day by simply stating: God is good. God is good to me. God is good at being God. And today is yet another page in our great love story. Nothing that happens to you today will change that or even alter it in the slightest way. Lift your hands, heart, and soul, and receive that truth as you pray this prayer: My whole life I’ve searched for a love to satisfy the deepest longings within me to be known, treasured, and wholly accepted. When You created me, Lord, Your very first thought of me made Your heart explode with a love that set You in pursuit of me. Your love for me was so great that You, the God of the whole universe, went on a personal quest to woo me, adore me, and finally grab hold of me with the whisper, “I will never let you go.” Lord, I release my grip on all the things I was holding on to, preventing me from returning Your passionate embrace. I want nothing to hold me but You. So, with breathless wonder, I give You all my faith, all my hope, and all my love. I picture myself carrying the old, torn-out boards that inadequately propped me up and placing them in a pile. This pile contains other things I can remove from me now that my new intimacy-based identity is established. I lay down my need to understand why things happen the way they do. I lay down my fears about others walking away and taking their love with them. I lay down my desire to prove my worth. I lay down my resistance to fully trust Your thoughts, Your ways, and Your plans, Lord. I lay down being so self-consumed in an attempt to protect myself. I lay down my anger, unforgiveness, and stubborn ways that beg me to build walls when I sense hints of rejection. I lay all these things down with my broken boards and ask that Your holy fire consume them until they become weightless ashes. And as I walk away, my soul feels safe. Held. And truly free to finally be me.”

To the feelers. To the women and men who experience every moment, emotion, thought and feeling in life so very deeply. To the ones who live with compassion radiating through their body like meteors flying throughout the solar system. To the ones who ache from the depths of their souls like thunder rolls through the skies. To the ones who feel the intensity of tragedy and carry the earths burdens upon their shoulders. To the ones who feel overwhelmed and overtaken by the uncontrollable and uncontainable uncertainties in life. To the ones that see a life and long to save it, and see a need and want to meet it. To the ones who cannot contain nor withhold their tears, those who weep with those who weep, mourn with those who mourn and yearn with those who yearn. To the ones who hold nothing back, who reflect a level of understanding like no other ––who desire to protect, shelter and shield the broken, the worn out and the weary, and keep every soul from harm. To the ones with hands that are bruised from giving, yet remain determined to bandage and heal. To the ones with arms that are tired from fighting for justice, but refuse to throw in the towel. To the ones who lie awake at night, who desire peaceful rest but find their minds distracted by the state of their world. To the ones who are filled with second chances, the emotional warriors, the sitters, the waiters and the delvers. To the ones who seek to listen for what goes unsaid, see more than what is visible and take the position of servant over master. You are rare, you are a unique and beautiful force to be reckoned with. You are the friend that is often walked all over, yet remains — because God has graced you with the strength to withstand the heaviness you feel upon your heart. So go, cross every river and ocean and flooding stream –– even when others will only cross puddles; go the distance. Soak at the feet of Jesus and fill your cup to overflowing; fuel your flame in the courts of His praise in His glorious presence, and let The Holy Spirit be your eyes. Be wise with your gift, but push on. Remember, you are gifted and anointed to not only feel; but also to allow Christ to carry you as you carry others.

Every element in this life is filtered through the eyes of Your grace. As I immerse myself in the cool and chaotic waters of the ocean, I draw near to the truth that the depths of Your heart are found within it, and that nothing is a gift without consideration. As I make my way through the waves, I see Your hand outstretched across a dry and thirsty land, a land in void and found wanting; and as You spoke life and hope into the barren plains — water poured from Your outstretched fingertips and created the springs, the rivers and the streams. As I retreat to a place of solitude in nature, Your beauty in creation awaits me. The lands of golden wheats and the fields of luscious fruits are aplenty, and I find myself as a mere speck in the universe, humbled. I fall into Your handiwork and Your intricately designed masterpieces, I marvel at the very existence of the skies You weave, filled with hope and a promise of a new day — I see You, I see You not because You are before me, but because You are in me, because You are in everything around me. I feel Your heart beat in the movements of the leaves, the taste of humid air on my tongue and the sounds of settling winds. It is not by right, not by expectation, but by grace and grace alone that I find a closeness to Your spirit, through the beauty and wonder of Your creations. I see You in the grasshoppers leap, in the delicate dust upon a butterflies wing, aiding in their flight and reflecting Your craftsmanship. I hear You in the echo of a lions roar and the first birds chirp of the morning. I am not left wondering where it is that You are, or where it is that You walked; for you are omnipresent, You manifest Your goodness and Your faithfulness in the simplicities of life and the miraculous moments. You are undeniable, unshakeable and immovable. And so, as the rain falls, as the sunlight glimmers, as the storms rage — I find You present and gracious. Ever constant, ever certain and ever unfailing.

May you feel beautiful today. May you feel strong and brave and capable of becoming the person you have always dreamed of being. May your goals be reachable, your bad habits be kickable, your talents be usable and your heart be teachable. May you take negativity on the chin and refuse to harbor it within. May you be fierce in your pursuit of happiness, and maintain your composure when things don’t go your way. May you be kind and gracious, even when it requires more effort. May you take less for granted, and remain thankful for the big AND the small moments you experience. May you find joy in the service of others, and forgiveness when you look into your past. May you feel a sense of belonging, of hope and of purpose. May you be reminded today that you are royal and wise, with a sense of discernment to keep you from trouble. May you see the goodness in the eyes of those around you, and be willing to sacrifice a moment of your time for a glimpse of their happiness. May you acknowledge that the standards of beauty you compare yourself to, are set by you and you alone. May you see you are in control, and you decide what you will or won’t brand yourself, or weigh yourself down over. May you find a sense of acceptance each day, towards a new area of your life, your body, your mind and your circumstances. May you maintain your faith, your relationship with Christ and your spiritual health, and treat it as the breath of life that it is. May you be grateful for the things you have, rather than downcast over the things you do not. May you choose to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the bridge crossing over the raging river and the stairway that leads up the mountain. May you find the silver lining, the golden edge and the rainbow; and may you remember to treat each day as if it were your last. May you never miss a beat, skip a step or run away from what is to come; because you were born to experience it all - and to still make it out alive, ready to tell a story of victory and triumph. Don’t give up… May you never, ever give up.

He heard you. When you cried from the depths of your weakness and heartache, He heard you. When you succeeded, surrendered, suppressed or sought wisdom .. He heard you. From the tiniest of your breaths in the wildest of winds, He heard you. From the depths of your despair and the peaks of your mountains, He heard you. Every whisper and word, every tear and every laugh. Every time you thought you could and every time you felt you couldn’t, He heard you. He prioritised the sound of your voice, He tuned His ear to your cries and He set His hands to the aches of your heart. He looked upon you with a love so consuming, and He heard you. When you mustered up the strength to utter a word of thanks, and even when you didn’t, He heard you. No moment went unseen, no joy went uncelebrated, no journey went unprotected and no thought went unnoticed. He looked for you and had His eye on you, when you hid yourself away and told yourself you were better in the shadows, He heard you. When answers never came though you desperately sought them, He heard you. He held your desperation in His hands, nurturing it into trust, patience and hope. He filled your pockets with faith and gave you the willingness to persevere, because He heard you. When you questioned His existence, He heard you, and His love did not waiver for you. In the seen and unseen, in the quiet and the chaos, He heard you. In your anger that exploded like fireworks in the night sky, He heard you. He dulled the excess of the pain, surrounded you with compassion and held you back from beating yourself into regret. When you fought back the tears, dried your own eyes and told yourself you’d do it alone, He heard you - and stayed with you. He never left your side, though you felt you were alone. He heard you in the depths of your heartache and He carried you. He gave you the determination you needed to put one foot in front of the other and try again, because when you said you’d had enough, He heard you. When you sat on the sidelines of life and released a sigh of exhaustion, He replenished you, He heard you. Don’t let silence fool you into believing you go unheard. He heard you. Trust Him. #100daycreativechallenge Follow @jacinta.nest on Instagram for more.
Ladies, value one another. Celebrate one another. Champion one another’s goals, achievements and passions. Cheer one another on in your successes and in your failures and work together towards your dreams. Pick one another up, remember the forgotten and include those who are lonely. Be present in your conversations and give to one another more than you take from one another. Be reliable, be dependable and be true. Give one another the best of your time and the best of your character, and sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron. Compliment one another in honest words and keep one another sane. Bring the tissues, the laughter and the tea, and be the kindness that one another needs. Hold one another accountable and keep one another on track. Remember two heads are better than one, and you’re on this journey together. Hear more than what is said, feel more than what is heard and really see one another for who you are. Be ready for the breakdowns and break ups, and every brokenness in between. Have wild late nights and painful early mornings and never hold one another back. Give the hard lines to one another and raise one another up in prayer. Put effort into your friendships and develop their roots deep in your heart. Let them matter and hold a sense of worth and value within you. Show one another your bad sides, and forgive one another always. Love one another sacrificially, trust one another completely and accept one another unconditionally. Be the biggest builder of one another’s backbones and cherish the days that you have; and always, always leave those around you better than when you found them. #100daycreativechallenge Follow @jacinta.nest on Instagram for more.

Why is it that we hold so tightly to things that were never meant for us to begin with? Things that often do more harm than good and more damage than repair? Why is it that we cling to the things that we know are eating away at us, and then wonder why we’re not growing and moving forward? We let old relationships pin us down with bitterness and misunderstanding, yet beg for something new all the same. We hold forgiveness in the air as though it’s unattainable to those who have hurt us, whilst we’re swimming in an ocean of His grace. We let our past define us, our negativity control us and our jealousy consume us. We compare, we copy, we pretend and we perform; and then we wonder why we feel as though we don’t belong. We owe it to ourselves to learn the empowering act of letting go. We owe it to ourselves to release what is hindering us to The One who can heal us. We owe it to ourselves to reject what is burdening us and forget what is weighing us in order to embrace The One who loves us. We need to coordinate our hearts and our minds to work together for the better, and condition our attitudes to compliment our forward motions. Realism is only as frightening as how far away we live from it, and honesty is only as unknown as how infrequently we practice it. In order to move forward, we need to be willing to accept that we are not who we were, we are not who we will be, we are who we are; and who we are requires our attention, and our willingness to accept and admit we are not where we could be, but we’re willing to try and get there. It requires utter transparency in His sights, and an openness to change and transformation. It requires loose hands, held open and ready for both the giving and taking of what He believes must be added and subtracted. Everything we hold onto that does not increase in our intimacy and our relationship with Him, our buoyancy, is a heaviness that keeps us from living weightless and free. So we need to learn to let go. Learn to relinquish control. Learn to loosen our grip. Learn to release our holds. We need to learn to turn over to Him what is no longer ours, and be content in simply holding to The One we need. #100daycreativechallenge Follow @jacinta.nest on Instagram for more.
Would You fold back my edges and see through my skin? Would You come to the place where I’m in over my head? Would You light up the shadows in the depths of my heart? Would You look past the fear that’s held me in the dark? Would You fan away the doubt that strangles my voice? Would You force back my denial that I’ve always had a choice? Would You welcome the tears that I’ve hidden so deep? Would You lift my eyes to the heavens and redirect what I see? Would You structure the winds to blow the past to the past? Would You whisper once more that the first shall be last? Would You lead my direction as though it were Your own? Would You remind me of the tapestry of my existence that You’ve sewn? Would You sing to my soul as though You’ve never sung before? Would You teach my boldness to move away from the shore? Would You dance as I stand on the ends of your feet? Would You let me fall into You each time that we meet? Would You envelope me in the cradle of Your arms? Would You whisk me away from the world and it’s harms? Would You protect what is Yours from the mistakes gone by? Would You lovingly breathe into me with every sigh? Would You feel Your way through the cracks in my bones? Would You seep into my heart and make it Your home? Would you satisfy the longing within me to have more of You? Would You quench the thirst in my mouth through and through? Would You teach me to return to the foot of the cross with my brokenness? Would You meet with me there and restore me from hopelessness? Would You take me further from the things that I’ve always known? Would You show me the things I’ve always longed to be shown? Would You invoke patience and stillness within all of the noise? Would You allow me to rest in Your grace and Your poise? Would You tune my soul into Your Spirit so I can soar with You? Would You fulfil my longing for you to create me anew? Would You captivate every inch of the seeker in me? Would You flood through my veins with the words “You are free!”..? Would you break down the fence lines I’ve built up over time? Would you make Yours what I wrongfully claimed as mine? #100daycreativechallenge #iknowyouwill Follow @jacinta.nest on Instagram for more.
Take a moment to soak and seek in silence - in the peaceful, tranquil and quiet moments, in the settled place of your stillness - find God there. He is in the skin around your bones and the hairs upon your head; and in all that you are, He has left little pieces of Himself behind. In the wind, the ocean, the silence and even those around you who you struggle to love - there is a piece of Him intertwined. Perhaps you struggle to see God in the quiet moments.. But instead of looking at the things you and I have made, like iPhones, computers and televisions alike, why not find yourself looking at the things He offers you daily.. Like a silent and peaceful rest amidst the rainstorms, or arms stretched wide on springs evening grasses after a long day of sunshine, blissfully admiring the stars. It’s not an uncommon thing - Jesus Himself would often retreat away to quiet and secluded places; so why is it that you are so afraid of the silence He intentionally sought out? No noise, no distraction, no people.. Just you, God and His voice. He calls us to silence. He revealed Himself not in an earthquake but in a quiet whisper… Why? Because He wants us to want Him enough to come by only the smallest impression of His presence. Whether our time is spent in reverence or prayer; it is the act of separation and setting ourselves aside that positions us to hear from Him.. Not what we wear or what our status is on this earth, but our solitary act of prioritising His presence. Please, don’t get caught up in consuming your every waking moment with noise – in turn, drowning out the very harmony, melody and beat of Gods voice and direction for your life. Yes, it will be quiet, and yes God will seem absent at times.. But it is in the seemingly absent place of God that He is working loudly in the heavens for your sake. When you feel you are most in the dark about your future, is when you need to hold out your hand in silence and be ready for the moment when He takes your hand and spins you into all that He has been preparing you for. In the quiet peace, He is there.. You will find Him in the whispers, as long as you choose not to drown Him out.. He is waiting for you.
