Now that we're settled right into the new year, I'm determined to properly revive this comic.  I've always liked Thursday updates ("journal comic jeudi" because I'm a nerd for alliteration and sometimes it has to be bilingual to work), so we'll see how it goes.  I've even started making them in this Tumblr-friendly format, as opposed to haphazardly on a sketchbook page.  SRS BZNS.

I've found that my interest/drive for journal comics tends to wax and wane with what's going on in my life; if I'm in a rut (as I've been most of the past year; you can sort of see it starting in the last few comics), I have a hard time writing comics about it.  But apart from the weather, this winter's been good so let's hope that I can do something with that.

I'm trying a new pen for lettering (and sheet music).  It's a dip pen, and I haven't quite gotten the hang of it, but I feel pretty cool using it.

With the new year, I'm shooting to have my shit together and get more done in general.  So let's hope that this Journal Comic Jeudi isn't just a fluke, and there will be new stuff every week.
