Channelled Rage - Gojo Satoru (JJK Fanfic)
Been going through it and it gave me inspiration to write fanfiction based on what's going on in my life at the moment. I'm posting this as I thought if people interacted, it would give me motivation to write more. I hope someone can relate to my fictional ramblings with my emotional support characters. 🤍✌️😌🪷😇 . . . . . Chapter One - Friendly Competition:
"Ugh! It's fucking bullshit." Anger was never one of my primary emotions like if someone was to describe me it wouldn't be like some kind of Incredible Hulk moment. I'm more… Riley from Inside Out having a panic attack. Anxiety has always been a prevalent part of my personality which I now realise as an adult woman and explains a lot about my behaviour as a child. I would never let my anxiety be my whole personality but at the same time I can't exist without it. I am going to be anxious about certain things but it doesn't mean I won't try to do the best I can. For example, I ironically hate weddings and that isn't me being some pretentious pick-me girl, I hate weddings because the idea of being stuck in the same building with some random strangers (including people I know because at this point they're acquaintances at best), for many hours attempting to make small talk sounds with a smile plastered on my face sounds like an absolute nightmare. On the other hand, you're only going for the bride and groom (perhaps for some cake and booze too).
Simultaneously, anger is also something I can't exist without. The Buddhist tale about the snake hissing instead of biting those that wronged him; has always stuck with me and I've found for myself that hissing is quite effective especially from those you least expect. But moments like that were rare although they're more likely to happen during my luteal phase, it gave me just the right amount of carelessness to go for it! You don't need to endure being walked all over whilst your uterus already feels like that, if not worse. Other times I wish I had that energy back during the times when I actually need it. Today was one of those moments…
"You got to let that shit go or you're going to go crazy. I thought you were good at doing that, being a Buddhist and all." Satoru says nonchalantly as he continues to button mash the controller buttons desperately trying to perform a super art on Street Fighter.
"If you break my controller you're buying me a new one besides the price of a PS5 controller is practically pocket change for you." I say with slight agitation and certainly not an attempt to deflect from talking about my emotions.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll buy you a limited edition one. Now, whilst you're harbouring your anger like molten lava underneath a rickety bridge. Show me how you do these combos." "Gojo!" "What?! I can feel you seething from here even with my infinity on." "Okay, I'll admit that I've been struggling to say no recently at work and for some strange reason I've unintentionally made myself the go-to person which doesn't help me in getting anything done." Gojo continues to play like his life depended on it, his fingers moved at lightning speeds as he finally performs Chun Li's super art. "Fuck yeah!" I roll my eyes as Gojo relishes in his victory against Akuma despite being slightly impressed as I couldn't beat Akuma with a standard attack never mind a super art. Nevertheless, I am not going to give Gojo the satisfaction and boost his ego more. "Gojo, did you hear what I just said?" "Yeah, you can't say no at work because the higher-ups recognise you as a capable member of staff and entice you with tasks tailored to your interests, i.e. photography. Management exploit you to make themselves look good and you're struck by a double-edged sword. At the same time, you've become the go-to person amongst your colleagues and you can't say no to people who genuinely need assistance.
"Fuck you."
"Plus you only call me Gojo when I call you out. When I compliment you, it's Satoru." Gojo effortlessly explains as he connects a second controller before handing it to me. "Now, come play Street Fighter with me it's perfect for you to get your anger out." I briefly pause as I consider his offer, fighting games were my favourite way to de-stress as I can partake in friendly sparring without the violence or physical capability to do so. Unlike Gojo who's idea of a friendly spar is his opponent being on the brink of death (in real time by the way). Then again, I doubt Gojo would have mercy in the digital world either. Plus, he was right… I am seething. I could practically feel my blood boiling inside my body and could envision the blisters that would pop with rage.
"Game on."
"That's my girl."
…
I have lots of preferred fighting styles in Street Fighter but the one I really enjoy is Blanka's; there's a certain chaos about it that's rather charming. Not to mention that I always wanted one of those Blanka plushies in real life. I sit down as I feel Gojo's gaze burning through my skull. Was he trying to ignite some friendly fire to help me cool off? Or was he purposefully being annoying? The latter was highly possible.
"I'll put it on arcade mode for a friendly match." I say bluntly. "Why do I get the feeling that you're going to kick my ass?" Gojo replies with his typical sarcasm.
"You told me it would be a good idea to get my anger out." "Don't threaten me with a good time." He smiles smugly.
The match begins as I dissociate into a state of button-mashing as I desperately try to beat Gojo. However, he remains cool as a cucumber as he executes each move perfectly including Chun Li's spinning bird kick without breaking a sweat; my frustration grows as I continue to be stuck in the same loop of getting stuck and beaten up in the corner. Gojo smirks like he has a trick up his sleeve as he revels in my agitation almost like he was purposefully trying to provoke me which wasn't uncommon for him.
"You're trying to piss me off aren't you?" "Would it be a crime to say I am?"
"Gojo, I am not one of your students and this isn't one of your tutoring sessions in fighting cursed users/objects. You don't need to push me to my limit."
"Then why is it working so well?" Gojo teases as I defeat him with a critical art. "Just because you're a Buddhist doesn't mean you can't enjoy some violence here and there." Gojo gently placed his controller down and basked in his smugness to read me like a book once again. "Do you realise how contradictory that sounds?" I sigh before tilting my head back as I stare blankly at the ceiling trying very hard not to have an existential crisis. "Not entirely. You carry a lot of rage and cursed energy of your own it doesn't hurt to expel it every once in a while; unless you're facing the likes of me who's clearly the strongest." "Where are you going with this?" I quickly interrupt before Gojo goes off on one of his egotistical rants again that I've heard too many times before.
"Anger can be channelled, it's okay to be angry just don't let it consume you or you'll become the very thing you're trying to get rid of." He says nonchalantly as Gojo puts his feet up on the coffee table. I could never understand this guy. Satoru Gojo always seemed like an enigma to me, something I couldn't quite figure out but for some inexplicable reason I'm drawn to him. Maybe we had more in common than I initially thought… I just haven't figured it out yet.
Anyway spiderjo
