Despite activity on Tumblr decreasing--not just for me, but for others as well--I don’t have any other platform to post my annual Year in Review. I’m hoping by next year I can migrate to a different blogging site (I’ve heard good things about Pillowfort). That said, I apologize I haven’t posted ANY Dedramo drawings for those who were wondering/interested. I actually did not complete it this year for personal reasons. Next year will be better!

Moving forward: My 2018 year in review!

Though I made less posts here than in 2017, I’d say this was another successful year for art! This year was more about quality than quantity and I can definitely see improvement even from just a few months ago. The same goes for my accomplishments as well:

- Downloaded Clip Studio Paint (Desktop) - I’ve heard only good things about this program so I finally purchased it in June. Though I only used it for a few short months before going back to SAI, I plan on giving it a second chance. - Invested in a tablet - I’ve been wanting something like a Cintiq for years but in November decided to buy a Galaxy Tab as a cheaper alternative. This was in hopes of improving my art activity and it has helped A LOT. I’m very happy I made the investment because it is already well worth the money. I am rarely on my desktop, so art has always been produced so far and few between. - Downloaded Medibang (Android) - Two new art programs in one year! Medibang seemed to be the best for what was on the Android market. I got used to it quickly and absolutely love it. I can do nearly everything I can in SAI and then some! I strongly recommend trying this if you haven’t already. - Sketch and sketch again - I’ve always been someone who sticks with the first thing that’s drawn, sometimes not even inking because I’m afraid of ruining the piece. But I’ve (finally) recently started sketching and then sketching again when the drawing isn’t coming out the way I imagine. Turns out persistence works in the long run! - Merchandising - With the addition of a sparkly new tablet and increased arting, I’ve been taking the first steps into making merchandise to sell at future artist alleys. This has been a distant dream for years that seems to finally be closer in reach. I’m hoping to open a store in January 2019 and sell at a few AAs in 2020! - Colored backgrounds?! - In the past month I’ve been adding color and even little designs an’ things to backgrounds!! It’s not much but it’s a start to hopefully getting over my fear of bgs.

With these accomplishments, I also have a list of goals I hope to achieve in 2019:

- Draw more full bodies - This was the year of bust shots, which is funny coming from someone who loves drawing legs - Work on backgrounds - Work on hands - Possible comics? - To help with backgrounds, angles, hands, and fine-tuning everything else, I may work on some one-page comics later in 2019. - Make more merch!

I’m anticipating 2019 to be a phenomenal year for art!!
