Shadows

In the dream - I'm in a room filled with people. Everyone is talking, and my eye is drawn away to a bright sunlit doorway to my left. I see the outline of a man wearing a trench coat, standing against the light which pours through the door. He is transparent, and I look through him into the sunlight which is dazzling. I walk toward him, and say "I almost didn't see you." He looks directly into my eyes - and he is terribly sad. "A spirit will always stand in the brightest light. We try to cast shadows so that the living can see us." And then he was gone.
