3D Model Event Chair available to buy and download from 3DSquirrel.
It's time for another 3D Modelling Challenge at 3D Squirrel and once again we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs. We are delighted to announce that 3D World will be featuring the winners both in their magazine and on their website creativebloq.com so this is a fantastic opportunity for you to show the world what you can do. We're also delighted that p3d.in will be our exclusive interactive '3D Viewer' sponsor for this event and have been integrated into the 3D Squirrel forum and digital marketplace for a great experience for all participants. Check out the great prizes from Digital Tutors and Texture Pilot too by clicking on the link below.
During this three-month event we would like to invite you to create either a single 3D model suitable for a remote Outpost or multiple assets that can be placed together to make an intriguing scene. Whether you choose to make your model suitable for an outer space, deep sea, arctic or desert location is up to you. We will be happy to see historical, modern day or futuristic designs so feel free to let your imagination flow. Although outposts traditionally have a military theme you might want to think about creating an asset suitable for exploration, communication, defense, transport, accommodation, storage, mining or research.
Good luck and happy modelling! You can read more about this challenge HERE.
3D Robot Challenge Results
It's results time! After 3 months, of watching the development of some really quite stunning 3D Robots, we are delighted to announce that the judges have now completed the difficult task of selecting the winners. What a challenge that turned out to be with so many outstanding entries. The rules indicated that we were not only interested in the final render but we wanted to see the development of the models right from the first concept sketch. It's been wonderful to see that so many competitors really took this on board and truly kept us enthralled with their detailed, regular updates. More than 80 'Work in Progress' threads were established and lots of helpful advice was willingly given to others along the way too. The feedback we have received indicates that a great deal of fun (as well as not much sleep) was had by all and we are just sorry that we couldn't award everyone with prizes.
