Hi!! I'm back to say I'm still very much in love with your art and also it got me to actually pick up my own stylus and study! just 2 hours of copying your work and then comparing notes, I already understand some things better.

For instance, i never realized that a painterly style could actually benefit from lineart and that line art doesn't have to be obvious! Also, a pop of color in lineart just works, it really does, it hides the edge and keeps it keeping neat!

And then with the initial sketch! I'm usually very messy and at times I just skip the sketch but since I was simply doing an exercise and your art is so simple to follow visually (not in practice, 天啊 TwT) , my sketching process was easy enough and I understood why I DO want one now

Among other things, I spent a lot of time simply looking at them, comparing my copy and your piece, and being able to catch the differences, what I could imitate and what was off, also helped, if not while painting then after <3

Here, BTW! (I also realized I was playing chicken with picking colors :') none of these were color picked but eye balled since I wanna develop an eyes for this)

Sometimes I don't even put that much conscious thought into the process lol, Thanks for noticing all of the details! I do have a habit of adjusting the line art to match the color tone; I also tend to go for highly saturated highlights contrasted against lower-saturation shadows.

What makes ep9 work so well for me is that Caine earns his own redemption by himself instead of having the humans bring back a "fixed" or "rebooted" version of him... which would've been incredibly tragic from a Ship of Theseus perspective
