There’s an emptiness inside my heart tonight. There are so many memories cherished between us. You were and have always been a special sister to me. We always were able to pick up right where we left off like not one minute had passed. You were my shoulder when mom passed away and made a point to make sure I’d get out the house and do lunches with you. We would talk about how grieving our moms where but knew they were in heaven rejoicing pain free. Now today you are in the midst of them and I find myself grieving you and missing your contagious laugh. Telling me Paige ya gotta get out there and date a little. Lol. Your eyes would get brighter and light up when we talked of Preston and Shannon. I’m reminded of our impromptu concert on my family room floor of Preston playing and singing for my family and the great time we shared. I think back to when I was driving your brand new car and someone backed into us. I choose to hang on to these thoughts because not having you here is a shock. I’m so thankful and blessed that we reconnected when I moved back home. Lord we don’t understand so we pray for comfort for Preston and Shannon in the days ahead. Carson answered the phone tonight to talk with her great aunt Patsy. She loves and adores aunt Patsy. She has a great granddaughter named Layla and Carson is crazy about my cousins little girl. A precious little girl btw who is a true miracle and blessing. A fighter for sure she was born with some major health issues and so far she is a princess warrior in my book. I look at them and my heart smiles. I can’t help but wonder if the little ones can feel the presence of mom in that beat up old recliner? Where she rocked each and everyone of her five great grandchildren. They all refer to it as Grammies chair. I know without even asking my dad feels closest to her sitting in it. He now refuses to sit in his own since the day she left us. Memories make sure to create some good ones during your lifetime.
