do u know if theres some way to download torn apart and taped together w all of the fancy visual bits in place? i wanna throw a bunch of spamtenna fics on a usb and its my most fav of all.

Hiya! I'm so glad you like the fic!! I had already started investigating this earlier today funnily enough, partially because a friend of mine wanted to bind it with the html intact. I've never worked with code in any capacity outside of ao3, so I am totally out of my depth lmao

For now, I found that printing the webpage keeps all the visual stuff! Just use a print to pdf to get a digital copy and spare your ink supply from the blue screen of death. And if you click "Entire Work" at the top then you won't have to do all 27 chapters individually

On my Mac, I noticed I had to check a box for "print backgrounds" to get more color-heavy elements like the blue screen and quiz boxes to appear. Test what settings work on your computer with chapter 24, 25, or 26

It's not perfect and I don't like the spacing, but at least the funnytext and all the really crazy stuff works! I'm currently furnishing my original google doc for the aforementioned friend, but what I gain in font options I lose in the other effects like gradients and borders.

If I find a better solution, I'll post about it :)

i recently finished @3muske-tears' incredible spamtenna fic Torn Apart and Taped Together, oh my god what a ride and i Had to draw this scene anskfjsnd. they're so stupid and silly and in love i need to explode them with my mind

seriously I think it's The best canon era spamton ive ever seen written. she gets the spamton-isms just Perfect and lets him be deranged and silly in a way that I don't often see writers letting him be and it's incredible. i would also daresay it's one of the best spamtenna fics Ever with how well it treats both of them as characters and their relationship as a whole, in all of its messy goodness. even when they get back together it's not sunshine and rainbows; there's still fear that the love is conditionally given. I absolutely credit her amazing prose and internal thinking descriptions for keeping that alive through the whole fic

sigh i could wax lovingly over this fic forever man. it's just so good what an amazing work of art. Go read it now if you havent

I think the theory that Spamton voluntarily changed his appearance and lives in the trash by choice just to avoid friend cat army whatever kinda undermines a lot of his story like it's quite important that he is homeless and has no money.

"But other characters have struggles with mental health, unlike him!" Spamton is a homeless person without medical care for at least 10 years, can't speak properly like before, writes with spelling mistakes that he didn't have before, his whole body has been altered, he no longer has autonomy and freedom, and he's willing being beaten up (abused) if he's paid, he's smaller than other Addisons, his whole body glitches, he has paranoia, psychosis, religious psychosis, panic attacks, and PTSD to the point of hallucinating a audience and praying and begging to them

despite the endless hamster wheel of suffering spamton goes through in-game, from beginning as a talentless othered salesman, to having his deal implode and he loses everything, to having to be forced into hiding to escape whatever consequences that contract came with, to have his one last chance at freedom be nothing more than a revamped puppet with extra steps, realizing he'll never be free and having to submit to that, then having his former partner straight up not recognize him despite everything he's sacrificed

with one act of mercy he chooses to protect kris and the party, down to how each and every item he's associated with protecting from the cat typing that he's presumably running from. he chooses kindness.
