WONJAE:

                   jay  smiles,  wiping  at  her  tear-stained  little  cheeks.  it’s  obvious  that  she’s  been  sobbing,  her  little  nose  and  eyes  were  all  red  and  her  skin  looks  patchy,  but  he’s  just  glad  she’s  not  hurt,  that  she  wasn’t  there  when  the  dementors  attacked.  he  leans  in  so  he  can  kiss  her  forehead  tenderly,  and  then  gives  her  a  full  body  squeeze  before  reaching  down  to  take  her  hand  in  his       –       holding  on  tightly  as  he  tugs  her  down  the  corridor.  he  teases  her  as  they  walk  together,  wanting  to  see  her  smile  again.                    ❝     you  know  you’re  my  favourite  person,  wox.  my  biggest  fan.    ❞

wonjae’s okay and he’s safe and she feels so relieved,     so happy that maybe she could cry again but suddenly she’s hit with a wave of embarrassment for having been so weak and vulnerable and stupid and she groans,     pushing at jay to shove him away.    “hey,    c’mon.    don’t talk about me like i’m some baby.”    she mumbles,    though her cheeks are tear-stained and eyes puffy from crying.

DAEJUNG:

                  ❝   okay  then,  let’s  start  at  our  common room   !   i’ll  bet  he’s  looking  for  you  there.  if  not  i’m  sure  your  friend  han  will  be  waiting  for  you  and  we  can  all  go  look  together.     ❞               daejung  smiles,  glad  that she’s  calmed  down  enough  that  she  can  talk  properly.  he  wipes  her  tears,  taking  her  hand  and  gently  leading  her  along  the  way  to  the  ravenclaw  common  room.  he  always  wanted  siblings  when  he  was  little  ( and,  still  now  if  he  was  being  honest ),  and  he  thinks  it’s  precious  that  she’s  so  attached  to  her  brother.                   ❝    what’s  his  name   ?    ❞  

roxie wishes she could be brave      --       brave like wonjae and jinny and han     --      but instead she’s a scared little fool,      grasping tightly to the kind stranger’s hand as they walk through the corridor.    her brow furrows,    concentration spent on trying not to cry again,      merlin forbid,    and she takes a moment before she realizes he’s asked her a question.    “um.    his name’s wonjae,    but everyone calls him jay.    you probably know him.   he’s like      ...   the best person.    everyone loves him.”

ROSALIND:

“if he’s not there we can always go check the hufflepuff dorms after” rosie says letting roxie lead the way, “or we could sit and wait for him outside your dorms. sometimes it’s best to just stay in one place.”

“maybe we should just stay put then.”    roxie says after a moment of thought,    leading rosie towards the ravenclaw dorms.    “i mean,     if i know my brother he’ll eventually turn up there worried sick.”

ROSALIND:

“do you think he could be looking for you?” she asked as the thought came to her. even though they weren’t related she was certain if he hadn’t been in the hospital wing that she and lukas would be looking for each other. “have you checked the dorms yet?” if she hadn’t that felt like a good place to start.

“i checked my dorms earlier but it’s been a while    ...”    roxanne says thoughtfully,      considering.    she’s not known to frequent anywhere else,    really,     and she’s sure wonjae would’ve tried there first.    “okay.    yeah,   let’s go check.    maybe he’s there now.”

WONJAE:

                    the  other  student  seems  just  as  clueless  as  he  is  and  jae  pouts,  his  mouth  pulled  into  a  little  triangle  as  his  shoulders  slump.   he  thinks  he’ll  just  have  to  wait  here  until  somebody  leaves,  or  arrives,  and  maybe  he  should  owl  their  mom  too,  and  check  on  jinny  again   ( though  he  knows  she’s  safe  at  least )        –      and  then  he  hears  it,  her  strangled  little  cry  and  he’s  spinning  around  and  catching  her  just  in  time  as  she  throws  herself  at  him.  she’s  real  and  safe  and  a  solid  weight  in  his  arms  and  he  peppers  kisses  in  her  hair,  eyes  welling  with  tears  of  relief.                   ❝    i’m  here  squish,  i’m  sorry,  i’m  okay,  me  and  jinny  are  okay  !   wox,  please  don’t  cry,  come  on.     ❞  

“i’m not crying,    you’re crying.”     roxie responds with a little sniffle,     curling her arms tighter around jay.      she doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks,     her big brother is safe and jinny is safe and her family is okay.     that’s all that matters    (    maybe it’s selfish,    but roxie knows she needs them   ).     she pulls away some so she can dab at her eyes,     not wanting to look like such a stupid crybaby.   “can    ...     can we go get lunch together,    please      ??     i just wanna spend some time with you.”

ROSALIND:

“rosie” she gives roxie her name in return, before pulling away and gently wiping some of the tears from her face. “Now” she gives her a reassuring smile and takes her hand giving it a squeeze, “let’s go find your brother”

roxie’s finally able to give a small smile,      a real one this time,     and she nods with a little sniffle,       intertwining her fingers with rosie.     she’s not sure that the girl wanted to hold her hand,     but roxie knows that she herself needs it.    “okay.     thank you,     rosie.     i tried to talk to his friends already but none of them had seen him,    so it’s just       ...     it felt a little overwhelming.    i’m not usually like this.”

DAEJUNG:

                   daejung  hears  her  sobbing  before  he  sees  her,  face  screwed  up  in  distress  and  he’s  crossing  the  corridor  to  help  before  he  can  think  it  through.  her  tearful  voice  shakes  him  to  the  core,  rattles  his  insides  and  even  makes  his  own  eyes  blur  with  tears.  he  gently  makes  her  slow  down  so  he  can  understand  what  she’s  saying  and  then  he’s  immediately  tactile,  reaching  out  to  wipe  her  tears,  trying  to  sooth  her.                ❝   oh  sweetie,  it’s  okay   !   i’m  sure  he’s  looking  for  you,  too.  perhaps  you’ve  just  missed  him      –      where  would  he  go  if  he  was  looking  for  you    ?    we  can  go  and  wait  there  for  him.   ❞  

roxie hadn’t meant to make someone else cry      --      but somehow she feels bettering knowing that she isn’t the only one blubbering about in the corridor.    he’s definitely a prettier crier than she is,       but she tries not to focus on that.     “um.     i’m not sure     ??     i checked around my common room  a   --   and his and the hospital wing,     and he wasn’t there.     i kind of just     ...   panicked after that.    han was helping me look but we split up and then i just     --     just flipped out,    i guess   ??”

WONJAE:

                       he’s  uncharacteristically  quiet,  the  events  of  the  attack  having  shaken  him  a little.  he  knew  there  was  some  sort  of  unrest  within  the  wizarding  community,  but  it’s  never  come  so  close  to  him  before      –     or   to  his  baby  sister.   he  wants  his  mom,  thinks  that  they  all  should  just  be  sent  home  now.   he  hovers  in  front  of  the  ravenclaw  common  room,  not  smart  enough  to  figure  out  the  password,  but  then  he  notices  a  passerby,  and  waves  a  little  to  get  their  attention.                 ❝   hi,  um.   do  you  know  the  password  to  ravenclaw   ?    my  sister  is  in  there  and  i  just   ….    i  know  she  worries  and  i  wanted  to  check  on  her.   ❞  

roxanne’s come out of her dorm finally,    eyes swollen from her tears when she hears mutterings of how someone’s trying to get into the ravenclaw common room.    she tries not to get her hopes up but her heart swells with hope,    and roxie’s dashing to the portrait before she can stop herself.    it swings open and he’s there,    talking to another student and she can’t help it.    her eyes fill with tears and she releases a strangled sob,   launching herself forward so she can embrace him.    “jayjay   !!   i    --    i was so worried,   you idiot   !!”

ROSALIND:

“wonjae” she repeats the name, fairly certain she’s heard it before. maybe in a class or maybe just in passing. then it hits her, wonjae is one of the boys in her house. that’s why it feels familiar to her. “we’ll find him, okay?” rosie pulls her into a hug

rosie seems to recognize the name and roxanne nearly crumbles in relief.   luckily rosie hugs her and roxanne’s quick to respond,  curling her arms around rosie in response.   “thank you.   thank you so much,   i    --   i don’t know what i’d do without him.   um,   i’m roxie,   by the way.”

ROSALIND:

“Who’s your brother?” Rosie asked hearing Roxanne asking about him. “Let me help you look for him” she offered, figuring it would be easier to find him or find out where he was if there was two of them.

“okay.   okay,   thank you.   i   --   his name is wonjae.”   roxie says,   sniffling and reaching up to wipe at her tears   --  she wishes she wasn’t such a crybaby.   “you’ve probably seen him around,  he   --   he talks to mostly everyone.  i’m just scared,   i didn’t see him in the wing but i haven’t heard from him,   so ...”

“has anyone seen my brother   ??”   roxanne’s nearly flying down the halls,   looking wildly at every group of people,   every open door and every person she can find.   “please,  i   --  i need to make sure he’s okay  !!”    /   ( @newagestarters​ )

although roxie may not show it,    she really is grateful to have her brother.   because of her awkward tendencies,   she finds it hard to make friends so wonjae is really all she has;   and even if he wasn’t,   she’d prefer to hang out with him rather than hanging out with anyone else.   sometimes,   though,   roxie feels jealous of him,   wishing she were as charismatic as him.   she also gets frustrated that he doesn’t seem to see that jin is pining for him.

WILLIAM:

He smiled at the action, “trust me, I’d be more appreciative of not hearing it,” he chuckled. As their conversation moved to the fruit, his face lit up. “They look so funny,” he laughed lightly. “Like little butts,” he smirked to himself, the mind of an infant, easily amused by the dumbest things.

Will glanced up from his console as he pressed his lips into a fine line. “I’m not a bad Slytherin. I like to think I am not quite as bad as the stigma of a Slytherin,” he shrugged his shoulders. “It is tricky, living with people who are stuck in a way of thinking. I personally think we can learn a great deal from muggles,” he said in the confides of those walls. He wouldn’t dare say anything like that while in their common room. “I just like video games, that’s all.”

“oh,   yeah.    we can learn to be way more accepting,   for one.”   roxanne agrees,   frowning as she shuffles so she can pull her legs,   bent at the knee,  up onto the seat with her.   it’s more comfortable this way,   she thinks.   “not that they’re perfect,    but holy shit.   if someone can’t even take out a game system   --   which in my humble opinion is a form of magic,   and i’ll die by that   --  then maybe this world isn’t so great after all.”

EMMELINE:

“I never said you couldn’t be here, and I heard you mention your brother; I’m simply saying you don’t have to stay if you dislike it so much,” Emmeline said, doing her best to maintain an even temper. “No one is forcing you to stay.”

“right,    cool.   but i’m waiting for my brother,   and i’m allowed to complain if i want to.”    roxanne replies,   smirking some as she settles back in her seat.   “and if i’m correct,   and i think i am,   i don’t think complaining is against the school rules.”

MAREK:

“I’m not really sure what either of those things are”

“seriously  ??   like,    nothing   ??  the magical world has failed you,   just so you know.  like,   royally.”

FABIAN:

“SUPER SMASH!” Fabian mildly shrieks. “I think I may even just tear up. Me and my brother are competitive amongst each other and it came to a point where our mother took our games away from us, yet we still continue to find out where her hiding spots are.” Fabian then starts to rumble on then shake his head. “Anyways, I’d love to beat your ass in any game you have in mind.” He grins.

roxie’s suddenly on the defensive   --   the idea that someone,   anyone could beat her at a game doesn’t sit well with her   --  and she quirks a brow at fabian,   suddenly hyper-focused.   “oh,   yeah.   we can play,   but you’ll be the one getting your ass kicked.   i don’t lose.”
