Pure coconut oil does wonders for the skin and hair! Because it is a PURE, ALL NATURAL ingredient it absorbs well into your skin and hair. Many people, including myself, use coconut oil as a deep conditioner and as a moisturizer (because it absorbs so quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy shine on your skin like most oils).
“But just how do you use coconut oil in your hair?” You might ask. I’ve got you covered!
Image #1- You can buy coconut oil in the form of a liquid or a solid. Mine, as you can see, is solid. But don’t let this fool you! The magical powers of the coconut turn this solid into a liquid when warmed up between your fingers!
Image #2- With coconut oil a little goes a long way so scoop some oil onto your fingers and start massaging it between your hands to soften it up!
Image #3- Start massaging the oil into your roots! Remember to cover your whole scalp, not just the top of your head.
Image #4- Work the oil into your ends (or in my case the crunchy hay like ends, yeehaw). It’s important to get the oil right down to your ends because that’s the part of your hair that needs the most love!
Image #5- (Probably should have done this before hand but wear a shirt that you don’t mind getting a little oily) Using a wide toothed comb, comb your hair from root to tip to evenly distribute all of the coconutty goodness :)
Image #6- Lastly, put your hair up to avoid the oil from getting in your face and screwing up your make up (just kidding, this parts totally optional!) Leave the coconut oil in your hair for as long as you want! Literally, it’s all natural so it won’t harm your hair if you leave it in too long…mind you, you may look like a dirt bag if you go to school with really greasy coconut oil hair, but on the bright side you’ll smell like macaroons and that could potentially attract a mate ;)
