The V.A. tries to confiscate man’s weapons, hundreds rally at his home to stop it
We recently reported on the Obama administration’s latest gun-grab attempt that might prevent Social Security benefits who use accountants from owning or purchasing weapons (This is not a joke. The Obama administration is actually doing this). Basically, it’s nonsense that works like this: Social Security beneficiaries are generally older. And if they have accountants, that means that they must have difficulty thinking clearly. And if they are old and have difficulty thinking clearly, they shouldn’t have access to weapons. Air. Tight. Logic.
Recently, an Idaho man checked a box on a VA form indicating that he used an accountant for his finances. Soon afterward, he was sent a letter informing him that the VA, (yes the same VA who kills people regularly), was sending a representative to his home to confiscate his weapons. Yes. This happened. In the United States of America.
Well, the local residents of the Idaho town where he lived were having none of it. They showed up at the man’s home to stop the illegal confiscation.
From the AP:
A group of residents in northern Idaho lined up outside a U.S. Navy veteran’s house on Thursday to protest claims that federal officials are planning on confiscating the man’s weapons.
Idaho Republican state Rep. Heather Scott of Blanchard said the Veteran Affairs office has sent a letter to John Arnold of Priest River warning him that he cannot possess or purchase firearms.
The protest -spearheaded by Scott- attracted roughly 100 people. Among them were Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, who promised to stand guard against any federal attempts to remove Arnold’s guns, and Republican Washington state Rep. Matthew Shea of Spokane Valley, who described the event as a “defiance against tyranny.”
“I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho,” Wheeler said. “This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold’s rights weren’t going to be breached.”
The VA. The Veteran’s Administration. The terribly inefficient, government-run, taxpayer-funded, single-payer, corrupt, horrible-in-every-way, hospital system was going to confiscate this man’s weapons, you know, for his own good.
I would love to hear progressives loudly denounce stuff like this but I’m not going to hold my breath.

WTF why?
If someone is actually fighting with this and doesn’t give a shit about history, the heat shields in those grips are probably a much better grip than the plain sheet metal they replaced. I’m guessing it didn’t handle heat well.
Commentary on point. I've never the opportunity to shoot one, but according to YouTube, that is absolutely the case. Hot gas shoots out of that area.
47performanceAfter testing the MVB industries ARC stock extensively, We rate it muy bien. It fits comfortably with armor and the shorter lenght of pull is manageable. #pewpewlife #pewpew #ar15 #norecoil #igmilitia #guns @mvbindustries thanks to @strikeindustries_si for giving us selector switches to test

No matter what you feel about Glocks, the one definitive thing you can say about them is that they freakin' do WORK. I feel indifferent toward Glocks in general, being a 2011 type of guy, but you gotta admit, they do have a serious cool factor in the level of performance you can get out of them for the money.
There are some who say that the AR-15 and its direct impingement gas system is poorly suited to shorter barrel lengths. High Caliber Conversions, LLC laughs in the face of those people: Some interesting things to note about this extreme(ly silly) SBR AR-15. First, the barrel has been cut down so far that a section of … Read More …
Can I get a WTF and Why? In all seriousness, if you spend just a little more time and effort in your build, you can make just about anything work. While just about anybody can slap together a working AR, a little attention to detail and extra research can bring your build, mild or wild, to the next level without breaking the bank.

As for why I cannot answer. All I know is the Want.
It's only 7.62x39...with proper technique you can keep it flat. No c-clamps apply.

That is indicative of a properly gassed system. Many competitor systems out there are often under or over gassed, resulting in reliability and service life problems.
