I don’t like how the be more chill fandom characterizes christine in fanfics. she’s either “UWU cinnamon roll can’t do any wrong” or “cheating evil girl”
I’m sick of people boiling down her canon neurodivergency to “cinnamon roll” or “super hyper” or “annoying girl”.
Another thing i’m sick of is how some people in the Undertale fandom boil down papyrus to “uwu weak and innocent” and disregard half the shit he does in canon, when he’s CLEARLY deprived of credit for stuff he even SAYS he does in canon, and infatilized because he’s a neurodivergent-coded character.
And Dear evan hansen fandom, stop! boiling down evan! to a cinnamon roll! he did morally-questionable stuff in canon!! He’s not an “innocent anxious boi”!!!
AGAIN, BMC, just BECAUSE michael had a sad song doesn’t mean he’s perfect and innocent and “uwu protection squad jeremy is bad uwu” NO!!!! He’s flawed!!! And JEREMY isn’t FUCKING BAD! people PLEASE remember that the squip manipulated jeremy in canon, and even though the squip was off pre-MITB, it still effected jeremy anyways!
I know the majority of these fandoms don’t do this anymore, but there are still parts of them who DO!
STOP. ADD, ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergency aren’t your aesthetic. We’re not “cutesy wootsy uwu”, we’re real goddamn people.
There are ‘ugly’ traits to our disorders, and that’s ok!
My point is, stop infantilizing canon neurodivergent or neurodivergent-coded characters. and stop acting like we’re wEiRd because of parts that you don’t consider “aesthetically pleasing” or that you can romanticise!
I’ve seen this with a BILLION different characters! And the ones who don’t fit the stereotype that people have set for us either get villainized or swept beside!!
And sorry for the long post, I just needed to let out frustation.
