Let me just start off by saying this: When things are rough, you take whatever happiness you can get, no matter what causes it. And maybe that happiness is just a smile, or a laugh, or at the most a warm feeling in your heart. I should not have to be afraid to publically express what makes me happy because I’m worried I will be verbally attacked. So what if I love a boy band or the members of a band are my rocks. So what if my favorite people in the world are across the country posting 6 second long videos? Yes, I like One Direction. Yes, 5 Seconds of Summer are what keeps me going. Yes, Magcon makes me laugh when I just want to curl into a ball and die. BUT WHO THE HELL CARES. I couldn’t care less whether you think Harry Styles is stupid, and untalented. I don’t care if you think Nash Grier is “Sexist, homophobic pile of crap”, honestly. If these boys make me happy when hardly anything else can, why would I take the time to consider your thoughts on them? Especially if those thoughts are negative. I think the last time I laughed for a long period of time for no reason at all was last year, with my best friend. A YEAR AGO. So can you see why I take my happiness where I can get it? I would never tell anybody they are wrong for finding happiness in something. All anyone wants to do is be able to live their life fully, happily, and without regrets. I don’t regret falling in love with 1D, 5SOS, and Magcon. They are the main reason I’m here, and am fighting to stay afloat. So this little note is here for the people who have fallen in love with a famous boy/girl and who cannot talk about it because you feel anxious you will be mocked, teased, or harassed. What kind of world is it that I get screwed over just for loving something that makes me happy? And to all the people who have given me shit for any of it… FUCK YOU. Sincerely, A girl who loves Luke Hemmings and Cameron Dallas with all her heart and soul But is too scared to share it with the public. -aw
