we’re trying something new for this year’s solangeloweek! here’s a bit of explanation for two days that we’re very very excited about!
wip dump - a day for content creators of all mediums to post works in progress! maybe these are unfinished fics that you’d like to tease to your followers, or lineart for an unfinished art project. maybe you’ll even use this day to tease something you’ll post later in the week! wip dump can also count for abandoned projects that you might be proud of, but no longer have the motivation to finish.
we’re hoping that this day will be used as a way to encourage newer creators who don’t feel confident posting work that isn’t “perfect” - because we all had to start somewhere! and this day should NOT encourage comments from non-creators, such as “please continue!” or “where’s the rest?” because that is the opposite of encouraging!
collab day - this is a day intended for creators to create content based on other fanworks **WITH PERMISSION!!** from the original creator. This means artwork for your favorite fic, or a playlist to go along with your favorite piece of art. moodboards including / inspired by artwork, tiktok cosplays acting out scenes from a fic - anything you’d like, as long as you have the original creator’s permission to remix their work! (psst: 99% of creators are going to be cool with remixes, so don’t feel anxious about asking!)
fandom should be a fun, encouraging, and collaborative space, so we’re hoping to foster that energy with this year’s solangloweek events!
