I’m not subbing anyone nor am I angry nor I am amongst the gays who are bothered by the term “queer” in any ways but can we start calling Angela Davis what she came out as, which is a lesbian ? Quiet as it’s kept, there are only four prominent Black female members of the BPP For Self Defense left: Elaine Brown, Kathleen Cleaver, Assata Shakur, Angela Davis. Of those four, most people know Angela Davis and Assata Shakur, and the latter is a fugitive. I think it’s significant to insist on the fact that Angela Davis is a lesbian, because it breaks up with the typical image of the Black militant woman.
Hey if you could reblog this version instead:
“in the spirit of respecting Angela Davis and correcting misinformation about her it’s important to clarify that she was never a member of the Black Panther Party. she was a member of the Che-Lumumba Club, an all black sub-organization in the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA). She worked with the Panthers for sure but she’s said that she was always weary of their misogyny, homophobia, and adherence to black nationalism in the early days of the party.this is a mistake a lot of ppl still make bc there was a concerted effort to flatten all black radicals together to cheapen black Americans contributions to marxist thought/practice and american leftism. George Jackson is also known as a Panther even though he founded the Black Guerilla Family the same year as the BPP (1966). These organizations and ppl worked together and built coalitions together but they had deep political and ideological differences. Also, the Panthers abandoned “for Self Defense” around late1967/early1968, after the Mulford Act (67) banned open carry, the adoption of the 10 Point Program (67), the implementation of the survival programs and when the party moved from nationalist politics to internationalism but absolutely we should refer to Angela how she identifies.“ All credits go to @dizzymoods

literally makes no sense that poor ppl are passing around the same $20 to eachother meanwhile millionaires & billionaires are sitting on their asses or telling us to donate to causes that they could solve with their own money and still have enough left over to live comfortably.
dude i made a new blog last night because this one got censored and apparently it’s already fucking censored lmfao

donate $10 to the okra project!
if just eight more people donate, we can pay for one whole session!
what is the okra project?
“The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.
During the Middle Passage, our African ancestors snuck okra onto captive ships to sustain themselves and plant in the new world. Black Diasporic cooking traditions often use the okra plant for its versatility and it is often associated with health, prosperity, and community.
In this spirit, The Okra Project hopes to extend free, delicious, and nutritious meals to Black Trans people experiencing food insecurity.”
how does it work?
“It’s actually very simple! Based on individual donations, The Okra Project pays Black Trans chefs to go into the homes of Black Trans people to cook them a healthy and home-cooked meal at absolutely no cost to our Black TGNC siblings. For those Black Trans folks currently experiencing homeless or whose homes cannot support our chef’s cooking, The Okra Project has partnered with institutions like Osborne Association and other community spaces to deliver foods.”
if you cant donate, boost!
Currently at $30/$90

Men are not inherently violent, predatory, or dangerous. Any feminist project worthy of the name needs to acknowledge that this behavior is taught. The idea of men being biologically predisposed to being abusers or rapists is actively used against abuse and rape survivors / victims (does the phrase “boys will be boys” ring a bell at all to you?) and will never, ever work in our favor.
dont forget anything that says male privilege n oppressive male behavior is biological or innate implies gender is biological or innate. therefore its necessarily transphobic n, when it applies inherent evil 2 being assigned male, inherently transmisogynistic
We need to acknowledge that the reason men are the way they are is because we as a society are failing boys.
anything that suggests that men are bad on a fundamental, biological level isn’t feminist at all. the notion that men are inherently less moral than women is itself a sexist, conservative notion that leaves women responsible for men’s misbehavior but unable to enact any kind of meaningful change to it. saying men can’t help but do wrong makes it that much harder to demand that they learn, grow, and take responsibility for themselves.
men can do better, men can learn better, men can be better. men don’t rape because they’re biologically compelled to. they rape because they’re socially allowed to. this can change.
feminism needs to hold men accountable for their behavior: not to condemn them, but to demand they fix their shit.
