HOW TO DOWNLOAD ANY FACEBOOK VIDEO
This can come in handy if you want to download livestreams and stuff in case they somehow get deleted
Step 1:
Open the video full screen so that the link at the top opens directly to the video.
Click “Share” then click “embed”
The following window should open:
Step 2:
Copy from where it says ‘https://’ to where the next quotation mark is. It’ll probably be right between ‘width=560’
So for example, the link for the video above is: https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FWhiteHouse%2Fvideos%2F425172318795855%2F&show_text=false&width=560
Step 3:
Replace the “www.” with “m.” https://m.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FWhiteHouse%2Fvideos%2F425172318795855%2F&show_text=false&width=560
Then paste and open it into a new tab
Step 4:
Right click and then click “Inspect”
Then click “Network”
Step 5:
Start playing the video and then go back to the “Inspect” window. Something should have appeared there. Right click it and then click “Open in new tab”
Step 6:
Your new tab should look like this. Note the url
Right click and then click “Save video as”. You should now be able to download it

A live-updated map of the protests
FIRST
ALWAYS THOROUGHLY LOOK INTO WHO IS HOSTING A PROTEST.
Members of the police and military as well as their supports can easily plan their own fake protestors to trap legitimate protestors, go undercover as protestors to make friends and identify real protestors to later harass and doxx, and cause destruction to make protestors look bad.
ALWAYS READ A PETITION BEFORE SIGNING IT
Military members and their supporters can easily set up fake petition sites to get people’s info, and are putting up misleading petitions on already existing sites that are titled to look pro-democracy, but actually detail either completely irrelevant jokes or harmful suggestions Many petitions are advocating for the west to impose sanctions on Myanmar/Burma but this is a BAD IDEA. Western sanctions at best do nothing and at worst make everything worse for the public while leaving the military virtually unaffected, which they’ve even said themselves. More information on the effects sanctions have had in the past and stuff here: https://8888rising.tumblr.com/post/642517381457084416/stop-signing-petitions
ALWAYS FACT CHECK EVERYTHING YOU SEE/HEAR
A lot of shocking videos and photos being popularized are actually from past protests or even unrelated protests in other countries A lot of unverified rumors are going around as well Even though these things may be in our favor, it just makes us look bad to show misleading media and misrepresented stories ALWAYS look to see if there are longer videos than what you’re shown and if there are videos of the same event from different angles When seeing/being told anything, always ask
1. Is this your photo/video/first-hand experience?
2. If not, where did you see/hear this?
3. Do you have any links to this incident that I could share?
I’ll probably make a post later listing unverified rumors/verified rumors/hoaxes/things that ended up being true/etc.
At the same time, remember the differences between primary and secondary sources. People who were there writing about their experiences are more valid than people or organizations writing about what people said happened.
WHAT TO WEAR
Remember, looking ridiculous or paranoid or over-prepared is a SMALL PRICE to pay for SAFETY. And the safer you are, the safer you can keep others.
DRESS IN BLUE
Twitter thread with original letter + an english translation
Whether this letter was really written by a soldier or not is unconfirmed, but the information is harmless at worst and helpful at best, so it’s something to take into account
The letter says that the military has been brainwashed to associate red with being an enemy, so citizens avoiding red and wearing colors like blue may help them realize that they are fighting their own citizens This is not to say avoid red if you need it. For example, if the only COVID mask you have is red, it is still better to wear it than not Additionally, if the only blue shirt you have is a turtleneck, you should still not wear it since turtlenecks can be dangerous as explained below
COVER UP
Cover as much skin as possible This will help protect from contact with tear gas, and will help hide any identifying hair color/tattoos/scars/etc However, BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERHEAT. Stay hydrated.
DO NOT WEAR A TURTLENECK
If you end up getting tear gassed, it will be near impossible to get undressed later without re-macing yourself with what’s left on your clothes To help avoid this, make sure the shirt you’re wearing has as wide a neck as possible.
To cover your neck, instead use a scarf or bandana.
MAKEUP
A lot of rumors are going around that you can use makeup to hide from facial recognition software, but this IS NOT TRUE Cheap facial recognition software, you MIGHT be immune from, but certainly not the more advanced versions.
Even if you were, it’s still possible to identify you from a photo through someone who knows you It’s also still possible to look at a photo of you heavily makeup-ed and just outline your facial features to make a plain portrait that could be used to identify you.
Either way, makeup just makes it easier for tear gas to cling to your face and cause pain and damage This INCLUDES THANAKHA-- DON’T PUT IT ON
EYE COVERINGS
To best cover your eyes to protect from tear gas, wear a pair of cheap swimming goggles under a nose-less scuba mask or paid of lab goggles. Lab goggles aren’t ideal, however, as they have holes that might trap tear gas inside.
WEAR MORE THAN JUST CHEAP FACE SHIELDS ALONE
You may have seen pictures of what looks like a thin, transparent shield of plastic that sits in front of your face attached to a headband, but this is NOT enough to protect your face from tear gas.
First of all, it will most likely leak in through the sides and then be trapped in that space, but it’s also incredibly easy for a cop to just quickly flip it up and then spray you. Plus, it’s kind of large and unwieldy.
Either way, if lab goggles or a cheap face shield is all you have, then DO wear them, as they can protect your eyes from rubber bullets.
DO NOT WEAR CONTACTS
They will only trap tear gas in your eyes.
WEAR A MASK
Remember, we are still in a pandemic, and you and everyone else WILL end up coughing after being gassed The police are creating a catalyst to spread the virus, try to resist as much as you can.
Additionally, it will help prevent you from breathing in the powder that tear gas is, as well as help protect your identity.
HELMET
As dorky as it may look, it’s really incredibly important that you wear a helmet.
There’s the danger of being shoved to the ground and hitting your head, of course (which resulted in at least one girl having seizures, getting a concussion, going to the hospital, and throwing up over the next few days), but also in being hit in the head with a rubber bullet (which has resulted in numerous people suffering skull fractures, and at least one person ending up with brain damage).
BOOTS
Sturdy boots are good to avoid having your toes smashed if they get stepped on when crowds are running away from police, they add an extra layer of protection from rubber bullets as well
They can also help protect your feet and lower legs from tear gas canisters if you kick one away, as they get very hot and and hard
They can also help protect your legs from getting flash-bang powder on them (which gets hotter than lava) and from burning your pants.
PROTECTIVE GEAR
Wear elbow pads, knee pad, shin guards, wrist guards anything you can think of. Again, protection from rubber bullets, getting baton beaten, gas canisters, etc.
WRAP YOUR HANDS
https://vm.tiktok.com/EVjetX/
If you can, wrap your hands before putting them in gloves.
GLOVES
If you have them, bring/wear leather gloves, or even better, welding gloves. These will help protect your hands when throwing tear gas canisters back, as they are VERY HOT.
PLASTIC WRAP
Like the Hong Kong protestors, you can wrap your skin in plastic wrap to protect from tear gas and to add some padding from rubber bullets. Be VERY careful if doing this not to overheat
It also might not be a great idea bc causes lots of sweating, unless you have protective goggles and/or sweatband
BOBBY PINS
Bobby pins are SUPER versatile tools that can be used to pick locks, break zip ties, etc.
WHAT TO BRING
CONTACT SOLUTION
If you wear contacts like me, your probably pretty stacked up on contact solution Make sure to bring as much of it as you can to help flush tear gas out of yours and others’ eyes.
SHIELD
DO NOT bring a shield made of plywood.
Because rubber bullets are so large and are still heavy metal, they WILL cause your shield to explode in splinters and become a danger to everyone.
Instead, use suitcase halves, metal or thick plastic garbage lids, or even look to LARPers and Cosplayers for advice. Umbrellas you could bring as well, they’re versatile for a few different things in protest, though they may be pretty fragile and flimsy as shields.
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SHIELD DOUBLES AS A SIGN.
Cops can use the excuse that you can’t have a shield because they can’t be sure if you’re hiding a gun behind it Funnily enough, they don’t seem to make this excuse for cardboard protesting signs despite the fact that they’re the same approximate size and the same principle applies To avoid the excuse occurring to the cops, decorate your shield as a sign.
SMALL TOWEL(S)
Small towels can be used to dab away sweat and tear gas if absolutely necessary
BANDANAS
Bandanas are extremely versatile tools in protests and there’s no such thing as having too many of them.
They work as face masks for virus protection, tear gas protection, and identity protection They are also super useful as tourniquets, to use as a sweatband, to clean up, to dab your face, to use in a Molotov, etc You really can’t have too many.
PAPER CUPS + TAPE
These are SUPER important to have for when people get shot in the eye with rubber bullets
TONS OF WATER
Water can be used to disable tear gas canisters, to wash/flush tear gas away, and is important to keep to stay hydrated There’s no such thing as too much water in situations like this.
PORTABLE CHARGER
It is super important that you have a way to contact someone at all times, so bring portable chargers with you Especially on hotter days and ESPECIALLY if you plan on taking a lot of video or live-streaming (which you should), battery drains FAST, so you may even want to bring multiple.
SELFIE STICK
Especially if you’re live-streaming, it might be a good idea to bring a selfie stick to get a better range of vision on your video.
The danger here is that it makes your device easier to yank away, so if you decide to do this, make sure it’s with a burner phone and that you’re streaming on a platform that will save the video there in case it gets deleted from your phone Alternatively, have your computer at home or a friend open to your stream and screen recording to save.
MILK
DO NOT ever use milk to flush tear gas from eyes. Instead, use eyewash, contact solution, or pure water only
DO use milk to wash away tear gas if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY
Milk can also be useful to put teeth in if someone gets theirs hit out or something If this happens, you want to put the teeth in milk IMMEDIATELY to keep them alive
DO NOT BRING OR BUY A BAT
It will ONLY look like you’re there to cause destruction and chaos and WILL be used as an excuse for a cop to say they felt threatened because you brought a “weapon”
WHAT TO BUY
This is separate from “WHAT TO BRING” because it’s stuff that’s more unconventional and not readily or easily available
BUCKETS/TRAFFIC CONES
These can be used to block and disable tear gas canisters or to carry water to dump on children who may have been tear gassed
NOTE: DO NOT use a bucket to dump water on someone if it’s already been used to block a tear gas canister
TENNIS RACQUETS/LACROSSE STICKS
These you can use to pick up and throw tear gas canisters away since you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT touch them, as they get very hot.
EYEWASH
Eyewash can be used to flush tear gas from the eyes from the inner corners near the nose outwards if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY
LUBE
Bring powdered lube that mixes with water to help escape handcuffs
HANDCUFF KEY
DO buy a handcuff key online
Most metal handcuffs use copies of the same key that can easily be purchased online.
To be honest though, you’re more likely to be placed in temporary plastic or zip tie handcuffs rather than metal ones, so make sure you know how to break them.
LASER POINTERS
This is another tactic from the Hong Kong protests.
Protesters would bring laser pointers to shine in cops’ eyes so that they can’t see and don’t shoot.
They’re even better as tools because it’s hard to tell where they’re being pointed from, especially if you keep them hidden up your sleeve or something.
To be honest, in country, this is a pretty bad idea since the cops here are more trigger-happy and might just shoot anyway, even more recklessly and aimlessly, and they might mistake the lasers for the ones attached to guns and use that as an excuse to be more violent.
Even so, they’re pretty cheap, and are a good idea to bring for cases of absolute necessity.

USE A BURNER
To be extra cautious, if you can, buy a burner phone, like a cheap $100 Android.
DISABLE LOCATION SERVICES FOR YOUR APPS
DO NOT USE ZOOM
Zoom has released a statement saying they’re willing to work with law enforcement 100% on anything they can. If you have it on your phone, delete it completely.
DOWNLOAD THE SIGNAL APP, THE TELEGRAM APP, THE BRIDGEFY APP, AND THE WICKR APP
Bridgefy especially is important because it can still work without wifi or mobile access BUT is only really effective if a LARGE amount of people are using it, so encourage other people to download it too.
DO NOTE THOUGH that while you should be sure to have it downloaded, until internet or mobile is cut off, you should stick to using other apps like Signal/Telegram/Wickr. Bridgefy was revealed to have massive security flaws and whether or not those flaws have been fixed yet is unclear. However, it still could potentially provide a vital resource as a last resort
Source on Bridgefy flaws HERE Note that the article is from August 2020, so these flaws may have been fixed

SELFIE STICK
Especially if you’re live-streaming, it might be a good idea to bring a selfie stick to get a better range of vision on your video. The danger here is that it makes your device easier to yank away, so if you decide to do this, make sure it’s with a burner phone and that you’re streaming on a platform that will save the video there in case it gets deleted from your phone. Alternatively, have your computer at home or a friend open to your stream and start screen recording to save it.
INTERACTING WITH OTHER PROTESTORS
DO NOT EXCHANGE REAL INFORMATION
As you probably already know, protests are being infiltrated by undercover military/cops and their supporters for many reasons
One of these reasons is to get information on really protestors in order to harass/doxx/whatever
They are TRAINED and PRACTICED in seeming as genuine as possible, so it’s NOT possible to know if someone you’ve met is truly on your side or not
For this reason,
DO NOT
give out your real name, contact info, or if you’re streaming, even what platform you’re streaming on
If they’re truly an ally, they’ll understand the need for secrecy and won’t continue to press you.
CALLING OUT OTHER PROTESTORS
There will be times where it may be necessary to restrain and call out other protestors for disorderly behavior Whether they’re a real protestor or a plant, it’s important to stop them from inciting violence or causing destruction Physically restrain them if you need to and remind them that it’s not fair for the entire movement to suffer because of one person’s actions As unfair as it is, their actions will reflect badly on the entire movement and be used to discredit it If you’re scared because the protestor is too violent/you suspect they’re undercover/you’re physically unable to restrain them/etc., then yell for help from other protestors to stop them, yell at them to stop, and DOCUMENT and VIDEOTAPE other protestors stopping or trying to stop them
COUNTERING ATTACKS
DO NOT TURTLE FLIP RIOT COPS
A lot of people online are recommending that you try to flip cops on their backs because their riot gear is so heavy.
DO NOT DO THIS
They are literally TRAINED for these situations to bring the shield down onto your fingers hard enough to SNAP THEM
If you really insist on trying to be a badass and can somehow get close enough quickly enough, or if you happen to be Tank or Riot, wear wrist guards and flip with your palms
TEAR GAS
RETURN TO SENDER
DO NOT touch tear gas canisters without leather gloves or welding gloves. They are VERY HOT.
If you do have such gloves, CHUCK THAT THING AWAY
Use a tennis racquet/lacrosse stick to throw/hit it back as well
You can also kick it away, but be sure you have protective footwear, such as boots, for this
DISABLE THE TEAR GAS CANISTERS
Cover the canister with a bucket or a traffic cone to prevent the spread of the gas
Through the traffic cone hole or even without it, pour water onto the canister. This disables it.
RUBBER BULLETS
SHIELDS
Bring and use a shield to protect from rubber bullets.
Check “PRE-PROTEST PREP” for more on shields
BLINDING
LASER POINTERS
Hong Kong protestors brought laser pointers to shine in cops’ eyes so that they can’t see and don’t shoot.
They’re even better as tools because it’s hard to tell where they’re being pointed from, especially if you keep them hidden up your sleeve or something.
To be honest, in America, this is a pretty bad idea since the cops here are more trigger-happy and might just shoot anyway, even more recklessly and aimlessly, and they might mistake the lasers for the ones attached to guns and use that as an excuse to be more violent.
Even so, they’re pretty cheap, and are a good idea to bring for cases of absolute necessity.
Water balloons with oil based paint are good to throw at windows, helmets, tank windshields, or shields since it’s hard to wash off with water
A mixture of milk, syrup, sugar, and food dye is also good
SLASHING TIRES
DO NOT slash tires by stabbing them. Instead, use wire cutters to cut the little thing that’s used to fill tires.
ALWAYS slash at least 2. ICE vehicles carry one spare tire
PREVENTING/SLOWING WATER CANNONS AND OTHER VEHICLES
https://www.core77.com/posts/91345/Hong-Kong-Protestors-Latest-DIY-Defense-Tiny-Brick-Stonehenges-vs-Police-Water-Cannon-Trucks
One thing that HK protestors did to combat water cannon vehicles, police vehicles, etc. is use set up little simple brick structures to slow down vehicles and help prevent them from traveling, see below and in link above
MOLOTOV TIP
DO NOT soak a rag/bandana and put it inside the bottle neck. This is how you get gas everywhere
Instead, tie it around the neck, light, and throw so that it meets the inner mixture once the glass shatters
ESCAPE
Make sure to look up how to break metal handcuffs, temporary plastic handcuffs, and zip tie restraints
Most metal handcuffs use the same kind of key that you can buy online or even make yourself
Video on how to unlock handcuffs:
https://vm.tiktok.com/E7WXLo

Unlock handcuffs with a bunny pin:
https://vm.tiktok.com/E7HtB4
You can also make your own key with disposable metal like aluminum. You can cut out a piece from a soda or bear or tea can, fold it 2-4 times, and use it as a key
Use lube to slip your hands/wrists out
Have a friend use a bobby pin to escape your restraints
Quick how-to https://vm.tiktok.com/EnyTRs/
Look up and practice how to use bobby pins to pick locks
How to run with hands tied behind you https://vm.tiktok.com/EVJJsH/
IF MACED/PEPPER SPRAYED/TEAR GASSED
DO NOT touch any part of yourself.
Tear gas/mace/pepper space is just a fine powder, mostly made of the chemical that makes peppers spicy It’s not actually a gas Part of the trick with it is hoping that you try to wipe it off or wipe it out of your face so that instead, it just rubs into your skin and causes micro-tears, hurting you deeper and getting stuck so it hurts longer.
BREATHE THROUGH CLENCHED TEETH IN SHORT, SHALLOW BREATHS
This helps lessen the pain and damage to your lungs
THE BEST THING TO DO IS NOTHING
If you can, try to pay attention to where the wind is and try to position yourself to where the powder can be blown off once it eventually settles and dries Just bend forward at the waist, and let your body do what it needs to Let your nose run and DO NOT WIPE IT Let your eyes tear up and flush themselves You can flutter them open little by little once you eventually feel comfortable to, but DO NOT rub them Flushing your eyes and body should ideally only be done in EXTREME situations when waiting isn’t working.
DO NOT use milk or the antacid/water mixture or the baking soda/water solution to flush eyes
Milk will infect your eyes, and the mixtures will damage them.
DO USE milk and the mixtures to calm any tear gas that’s stuck on your body or in your mouth IF WAITING DOES NOTHING
DO USE marketed eye flush solutions OR pure water ONLY to flush your eyes
Medical eye flush, eye flush used in chemical labs, and even contact solution work fine
Make sure to flush from the inner corners of your eyes closest to your nose outwards and that the flush from one eye IS NOT going into the other
SMALL TOWEL OR SOFT CLOTH
ONLY IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, You can dab, you can dab, NOT WIPE, your face to try to remove mace and to dab away face sweat the rest of the day
AFTER BEING MACED/PEPPER SPRAYED/TEAR GASSED
WEAR A SWEATBAND HEADBAND OR A BANDANA IN A SWEATBAND HEADBAND FASHION
After you seem fine again, remember, the powder is STILL ON YOU and is ACTIVATED BY WATER It WILL start to burn again once you start sweating This becomes an issue at your hairline, when your sweat will mix with the powder and possible drip into your eyes To avoid this, bring a sweatband to wear.
DO NOT wipe after using the bathroom
I’m so sorry, but no matter how thoroughly you try to wash your hands, until you’re at least able to take a shower, there’s no chance of it not being extremely painful
SHOWERING
When you go home to shower, no matter how fine you feel, IT IS STILL THERE.
REMOVING CLOTHES
Try to make as little contact with the outside layer of your clothing as possible, as the powder is still there
Try to remove your shoes just with your feet, by holding the back of your heel down with your toes as you try to pull your leg out of your shoe
If you were a good noodle and wore boots and can’t do this, try to get some disposable gloves to untie laces or undo zippers.
When you take off your shirt, hold the collar away from you and just take it off straight up, as if an alien beam was transporting it up and for some reason your body wasn’t going with it. DONT let your shirt touch your face and get tear gas powder on it again
IN THE SHOWER
In the shower, remember that the powder is in your hair and hairline Also remember you absolutely DONT want water collecting powder and traveling down to your genitalia, as it will be excruciating, nor do you want it dripping into your eyes from your hairline
To avoid this, keep track of where your soap/shampoo/etc. is, shut your eyes tight, bend forward at your waist to avoid mace-genitalia contact, and keep your face facing down or inwards so water drips from your hairline, down your forehead, and drips off your face instead of traveling down it.
I’m sorry to say it, but if you have external genitalia, it’s pretty inevitable that it will be met with mace while showering and it might be the most excruciating pain you’ve felt in a while.
Before using any kind of soap or loofah or whatever, just sit in the water and let it do it’s job for a while Let it wash off as much as it can before potentially rubbing it deeper into your skin
When you do use soap, make sure that it’s soap that cuts through grease, like Dawn dish soap
HIT IN EYE BY RUBBER BULLET
The person will most likely be blinded in that eye forever, sorry
DO NOT TOUCH THE BULLET AT ALL IF STILL IN FACE
COVER THE AFFECTED EYE VERY GENTLY
Tape a paper cup to their brow bone, but be careful that you don’t touch bullet
You can VERY GENTLY cover with a towel if necessary, but DO NOT push down
COVER OTHER EYE AS WELL
If one eye moves, both do, and you want to avoid that
DO NOT WASH IT
DO NOT USE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PAIN KILLERS
They think blood and make them bleed worse
