I got asked to write a list ranking the best quarterbacks in the AFC South. I *may* have cheated a little bit since one QB was so good he had to be put on the list despite not being a starter.
In 2025, the Jacksonville Jaguars were the AFC South's best team. The Houston Texans were the squad that lasted longer in the postseason, bu
This could be the start of a new golden age for the Jaguars...or it could be yet another chapter in the tragic story that is "The Ballad of Jacksonville."
One thing, sorry, one PERSON is the key to preventing the 2025 Jags from ending up like Sacksonville.
I'm sure you can guess who it is.
What's next is not clickbait, it's just good old-fashioned Jacksonville Jaguars history. The Jags could beef up their roster with as many hi
i can't believe K'Lavon Chaisson, of all people, is the one keeping the tradition of fallen Jaguars competing for Super Bowls alive. And it's with the Patriots. Jesus be a fence
well, at least Mike Vrabel isn't in the AFC South anymore.
I can't believe the Jacksonville Jaguars could lose both of their coordinators after one season. I remember when Doug Pederson was doing everything possible just to get Press Taylor an interview!

All of the sudden, the AFC South became the division for fans who want to see bone-crushing defense and somewhat balanced offenses. In this neck of the woods, it just means more 😭😭😭
The NFL Meta:
1) draft a bona fide franchise QB as soon as possible and go all-in on supporting him.
OR
2) Have a GM/EVP/President of Football Ops that a hands-off owner trusts enough to give full control of the football side of the franchise to.
There really isn't any diversification right now. The team owners want a face of the franchise they can trust. They want to know what the plan is and when it's time to reboot. Arthur Blank probably hired Matt Ryan because he can trust Matt Ryan to put the success of the Atlanta Falcons first. Shad Khan probably feels the same way about Tony Boselli after Year 1. The Pegula Family just promoted Brandon Beane and said he'll lead the search for a new HC.
Just another sign football transitioned from a big sport to an even bigger business.
I might have to cut Shad Khan some slack.
Buffalo - fired the HC who got them to the playoffs consistently but kept the GM and promoted him to President of Football Ops
Pittsburgh - Mike Tomlin steps down, GM who put together lackluster rosters stays
Tennessee - the very top of their organization goes untouched and they "reorganize roles"
New Orleans - I don't think Mickey Loomis CAN get fired at this point
Houston - How many coaches and coordinators has Nick Caserio hired again?
New York Giants - kept their GM and haggled with Harbaugh about the reporting structure (which means they wanted the GM to be over the coaches at first)
Trent Baalke couldn't get coaches to trust him, and that's why he had to go. That being said, Shad Khan isn't the only owner in the NFL who chooses the GM over dang near anything and anyone else that makes sense. The guys shopping for the groceries and managing the ops rarely get blamed in this era of the NFL. Instead of making it about the players who play and the coaches who call the plays, the owners are making it about the building itself.
Buffalo firing their head coach makes me wonder if Shad Khan would ever reach that point with Liam Coen. Shad's never been able to put multiple 10-win seasons together. The 13-4 record was his best campaign as owner. He bought the team in 2011. And all it got the franchise was a loss in the first round.
Buffalo was BAD before they hired Sean McDermott. Josh Allen wasn't an MVP when he was first drafted. A lot of people forget how horrible he played his early years. The regular season has to mean something. Super Bowls are the end goal, I get it, but NFL teams act like they'd rather keep chasing magic beans than actually make the best of the good things they have.
Everything about this NFL season was so compelling until we got to the Final Four. Roger Goodell's scheduling and promotion gave us just enough buzz, parity, and hope until we got to the final four. If you've seen the Rams, Seahawks, Broncos, and Patriots compete for a Super Bowl title before, raise your hand. Actually, when you really think about it, Houston was the only chance to see a new face. As a TV product, the NFL is amazing at what it does.
I don't know if the Jacksonville Jaguars will ever realize just how close to playing in a Super Bowl they were this season. Whew, this one is gonna sting for a long, long time as a fan.
Well, amigos, if you haven't learned how to root for the logo yet, you better start now. There are just too many pieces due or about to be due all at once for the front office to retain all the big names. There are gonna be a lot of unsung heroes contributing to the Jacksonville Jaguars' success in 2026.
The way this game ended will have me crying in a closet for a week
