sangsoo recognition through the other is so important to me. han sooyoung takes shelter in the idea of the world as a story and particularly herself as a villain, in order to process the apocalypse happening around her. in contrast, yoo sangah has the story of 'heroine' written for her, including by han sooyoung but does not take shelter in it. she works to break it down, as part of orv's larger ideas about narrative roles. han sooyoung creates stories and as a librarian yoo sangah sorts through them, navigating through the fourth wall in a way. neither of them are black and white. han sooyoung telling kim dokja shes not as heartless as he thinks on his death bed vs yoo sangah reminding kim dokja she's not as forgiving as he remembers on her own. they both recognize this in each other and try to bring it out, even as it destabilizes their own places in the narrative. even as it destablizes themselves! yoo sangah is a character who demands others let down the stories they tell about themselves, no matter how crucial, so she can see the other side. it's fascinating to think how that would manifest with han sooyoung, who is the fourth walls second staunchest defender
