Chapter 5 spoilers, but question/theory about chapter 6 as it pertains to the Aborted Weird Route
If chapter 6 takes place in the hospital (as a lot of people are theorizing since Noelle's dad takes some type of fall at the end of the normal route lake sequence) during an aborted lake weird route, would we see Berdly as a darkner?
Seeing as he's dead/asleep in the light world hospital, why wouldn't we be able to see him in the dark world? Maybe as a secret boss/second round as punishment for icing him? Something's gotta happen there. A lake abort chapter 6 is going to be a lot different than a cyber abort to get the thorn ring or a house abort.
My prediction is:
Cyber Abort (getting the ThornRing):
Least different branch
Noelle is a much higher level than the rest of the party.
Noelle refers to her time in the dark world as a nightmare and maybe has a small scene asking about what happened in the cyber world.
House Abort:
Noelle joins Susie to see the Darkworld but is overall uncomfortable with joining the party since Kris has been acting strange, and her 'nightmare' actually happened.
Possibly becomes a sort of background character in the next Darkworld, acting more as an NPC than a party member.
Susie and Ralsei actively try to get her to join the party but she's scared to.
Berdly is found as a darkner, hypothetically creating some type of battle.
Noelle joins him for the fight / possibly breaks down in a scene happy that he's 'alive' (she doesn't know)
Lake Abort:
Noelle joins as a party member and maybe eventually becomes the only party member besides Kris a la chapter 2.
A bit of a repeat of chapter 2 happens, maybe Noelle assumes that this is how it works, icing the resident darkners.
In the background Susie and Ralsei are working to find a way to get as many darkners to safety as possible, before possibly becoming the bosses of the chapter?
Alternatively, Susie whisks Noelle away at the start of the darkworld segment. Noelle tells her everything, causing the final fight to actually be against Susie and Noelle.
Berdly is a boss on his own in a repeat/ harder version of the snowgrave fight. Or haunts the chapter until you actually find him
This is speculation of course, but if the fountain does end up being in the hospital something's gotta happen with Berdly's body.
I highly recommend getting one of those little hand humane bug catchers.
It makes releasing fellas a lot easier and you get to look at their neat little faces, also gives the bugs a story to tell their bug friends about the contraption they were stuck in
A vent comic brought upon by some tweets a friend I recently split from made.
If you have a friend who does not let you talk about your favorite things with them, doesn’t engage with your conversation topics, and will only have a real conversation about things they have interest in, they are not a good friend. Friends are supposed to listen, remember, and then be listened to by other friends. Even if you don’t have similar things in common, ask! That’s your friend! They’d love to tell you, and you’ll learn something new.

You approach the building. A tower of stone the likes you’ve never experienced. It hardly fits with the surrounding parking lot of cars.
You look at the note in your hand. It feels too good to be true. But as you knock on the tall wooden doors you’re sure all questions will be answered.
The door opens only slightly. Out pops the nose of a plastic mask, quickly connected to a piercing, bird like eye that squeezes through the crack. They speak with a voice like a rusty gate.
“Who might this be?”
You’re not sure how to respond, so you hand them the note.
The door opens wider giving you a better look at the figure. Or you hoped it would. Any defining features are covered by a lab coat, or rubber gloves, or the long nose of a mask the bottom of which is flat like a ski mask. Even with all that coverage you see a smile grow on their face.
“Oh! Come in!” They cry. They all but pull you inside the building. “I’m so glad this made it to you I- …Have you made your arrangements? No matter. We have a lot to do for you, and only a few years to do it-?”
They’ve walked a ways ahead of you. It took them until now to notice you weren’t following them.
“Is something wrong? Getting cold feet? Do you want to leave-“
You shake your head no. You’ve been waiting so long for this. If this guy’s the real deal, they’ve got an odd way of showing it.
“Well, come along then!” They grab your hand and you follow. “We’ll get your paper work in order, and just so you know. Anything you find wrong or off can and will be reversed. Now, I want you to tell me.” They turn to face you, pinprick eyes boring into your own. “Are you ready to feel happy in your own skin?”
Your frozen. Thoughts flood your head of doubt and regret, so familiar to you that you almost listen.
But then you nod.
They’re giddy. They jump up and down your hands still in theirs. “Yes yes yes!” They begin to drag you again. They continue to ramble, going on and on about the process, what needs to be done.
Despite your first thoughts, in a strange sense, you trust them.
