Height 6'2" GW - somewhere south of 200 I've never had the greatest relationship with my weight, and struggled with it especially in college. After having lap band surgery in Oct 2006, I'm finally in a better place mentally AND physically. On the home stretch to lose my last 20lbs before starting the excess skin removal process. Big BIG news!!

Finally have some big news to share

1) My thighplasty was approved by my health insurance. 100%. So, according to the office this should only cost me my $100 surgery deductible. I’m beyond ecstatic about this.

2) I finally have a date!! (And not the male kind) They did a bunch of rearranging with their Nov schedule, and I just found out today that I’m on the schedule for next Wednesday. 😳. Way faster than I was expecting but I’m very excited. First procedure of the day.

Go in for my pre op testing tomorrow afternoon.

Today marks my 10 year band-versary - lap band -

In that time I’ve lost ~135 lbs, gaining and losing along the way, and have finally gotten to the point of pulling the trigger on skin removal surgery. Insurance covered my panniculectomy this past February, and so far has approved my thigh lift in November (last will be arms) Words can’t even describe how much I have learned during this journey.

PS. If you are worried about losing weight because of the excess skin,that might result in removal, don’t worry! The skin removal so far has been much easier a process that I used to fear, and TOTALLY worth doing.

6 months post op yesterday! SO happy with my results. Also starting the insurance process for my next surgery - thighplasty. My dermatologist wrote me an excellent letter, so now I cross my fingers and wait. 🙃
