@a-goth-farmer-blog
You hit something on the old dirt road heading to grandma’s farm. You pull over to the roadside to see what it was. It has the head of a human woman, and the body of a deer. It has hands where it’s hooves should be. It stands and looks at you with black eyes, then walks backwards into the woods where it came.
You pass by the christian road signs that litter the roadside. “GOD LOVES.” says one. “HE WILL RISE.” says the next. “WE WERE NOT SAVED.” reads the one just outside of town. You were never a fan of religion.
You roll slowly over the train tracks outside down. You hear the whistle blow far in the distance. You remember when it crashed when you were just a child, that blazing summer night. Nobody survived. They hadn’t run the train since.
Grandma greets you when you step onto the porch. Her eyes are just as warm as when she was alive. You should put flowers at her stone before you leave.
You visit town and watch the children play where they buried the witches long ago. Their hands reach up from the soil sometimes to beg for help.
Some Midwestern-Gothic creatures I made for an animation >:) love the spooks!
