"hermione what-- what are you doing here? this is the slytherin common room-- you shouldn't even be here. how'd you get in here?" (( ooc. hello my sweet hermione!! i've missed you dearly :'0 hope you don't mind this silly little starter *rolls away* ))
“I…. I was… I was looking for you.” She states swiftly trying to cover her lie, the boys had actually requested that she sneak in to the Slytherin common room and steal something that they were certain belonged to either Draco or Professor Snape. Her concealment spell had worn off; but she had been certain that no one would be coming in so soon given that most classes were still in session.
“ [ o ] h you were ? “ The boy furrowed his brow as he studied her, his gaze shifting between her eyes– searching. The times that he has encountered this fiery individual, Draco had never been up to his best behavior– often spitting words of hate and filth towards her way. If one were to ask him why, he would state the obvious; her blood was diluted, filthy; the word mudblood would roll off his tongue like sewage– cold and heavy. So to hear she was looking for him– him, of all people– was a shock. And she was determined enough to risk being caught by others? He did not believe her. He could not.
“ hm, interesting.” A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he neared her, arms folded firmly across his chest, head tilted oh so slightly– mockingly almost.
“ why? ”
“Why?“
Hermione fought back the desire to bite down on her lower lip; she had to come up with a reason why she had been looking for the pure blood and swiftly. But a genuine reason came to her mind; did he really mean half of the things he said or did to her? Or was it all a show, his attempt to be the perfect son? To be play the role expected of him.
“Yes…. I want to know, do you really detest me? Or is it a fabrication? Your scores are always shy of mine if not rival them. And, your eyes. You’re great at masking your emotions, but they tell a different story at times.” She says boldly; a part of her was hoping she had not been misreading the signals.
[ A ] moment. All it took was a moment– some unreadable shift in his eyes. One measly second for him to give himself away. Her questions threw him off. Draco certainly wasn’t expecting them. He was expecting a confrontation of course, she always had one up her sleeve. There had been many occasions where the two would bicker and snap at each other. But questioning his emotions? That he never saw coming.
His cocky stance faltered, as did his gaze. Hermione was still, shoulders back, head raised– her stance was tall, elegant and proud. She gave off an air of confidence, even if she did not feel such a thing at this very moment Draco couldn’t tell.
Glancing around, Draco searched for prying eyes and wandering ears.
“ i don’t know what you’re talking about, “ he countered as his eyes fell upon the witch once more, making sure to add a dash of venom with his words. “ why would anything i do be a fabrication? especially towards you? “
He couldn’t afford to look weak in front of her– in front of anyone.
A huff escaped her lips as she crossed her arms for a moment; she glanced towards the fireplace briefly before her eyes twisted backwards to meet those diamond hues of his. “I do not know; perhaps you are quite the actor and play the person they expect you to be!? Which would mean being rude to me. Draco, surely you do not enjoy being antagonistic! Draco, I’d rather like not be your enemy!” She professes to him stepping forward. “We can try to be more than what they expect of us. Please, I implore you to speak the truth. Tell me how you feel, do you really despise me for my bloodline?” she says brows lifting forward. Hermione took a glance around before snatching his wrist into her strong grasp; she pulled him away further into the common worlds to a more secluded area. Away from eyes. Away from ears. Somewhere he could feel more confident disclosing such possible truths. “Draco…”
[ H ] er words struck a cord with him. The look in her eye– the determination– they made him melt slightly. Maybe that was one of the reasons why he found himself drawn to her. She was undeniably a Gryffindor– brave, fearless– a leader through and through.Qualities Draco aspired to obtain, but felt out of reach.
His lips parted slightly as his walls began to crumble, as his gaze faltered once more. Before any words were able to escape him though, he felt the other grasp his wrist and pull him away.
Once again, he was not expecting this. He expected her to huff, say something cross– even hit him– but dragging him away further into a place where she can get into unreasonable trouble? At this point, he shouldn’t even be surprised anymore. Not to mention the way she navigated the halls, such precision– has she been here before? And yet again, he wouldn’t put it past her.
As they entered a more secluded area, he felt the air leave his lungs. She had him cornered, it seemed. No where to run, no lies to hide behind. Of course, he could keep the charades up, continue to throw insult after insult. But where would that lead him? A broken heart? How bad could letting his walls down truly be? A busted ego wasn’t worth all of this.
“ hermione– look… i … “ he started, searching for the words to say. How can he mend so many years of hateful speech in one sentence? One conversation? No amount of confessions or apologies could repair the damage he caused. Not in his mind.
“ …this is a waste of time. you better leave before you’re caught. “ With a look of defeat in his eyes, Draco shifted to move past her.
I’m only human after all. Don’t put your blame on me.
Draco Malfoy was standing with his back to the door, his hands clutching either side of the sink, his white-blond head bowed.
‘Don’t,’ crooned Moaning Myrtle’s voice from one of the cubicles. ‘Don’t…tell me what’s wrong…I can help you…’
"Do you think we'll ever be a.. couple-couple.?"
[ F ] or quite some time, the young man sat upon one of the many couches within the Slytherin common room. Sprawled to his side were numerous assignments in which he needed to complete for his classes. However, his mind was racing and he could not focus for the life of him. Nor did he care enough to complete them currently. With a huff, Draco pushed them aside and allowed his form to sink within the seat, his arms folded across his chest, his eyes staring intensely at the burning fire before him.
Moments after giving up on his work, the sound of light foot falls met his ears. Someone had walked within the room, slicing through the silence of the afternoon. However, this individual did not speak, nor did Draco acknowledge them– finding the flames licking at the logs a much more interesting pastime.
That is until the individual spoke– the subject in question completely taking the boy off guard.
“ excuse me ? “ Turning around on the couch, Draco positioned himself better to catch the gaze of Pansy. He needed to see her expression– her eyes.
"hermione what-- what are you doing here? this is the slytherin common room-- you shouldn't even be here. how'd you get in here?" (( ooc. hello my sweet hermione!! i've missed you dearly :'0 hope you don't mind this silly little starter *rolls away* ))

Fear [OPEN RP]
[ F ] ear. That is all he felt. An unwavering, heavy, suffocating dread that hung over his heart-- fogging his mind and stirring his very being. For the past few days, he’s felt as if someone had been watching him. Perhaps it was all in his mind-- his paranoia getting the best of him. After all, thanks to the persuasion of his parents, the Dark Lord -- or most likely his ”henchmen”--has been contacting him quite frequently for small tasks. Draco already despised affiliating himself with them. However, his fear and need to live up to the expectation of his father drove him to unbelievable measures.
This is why tonight the young man found himself rushing down the deserted hallways of the castle. He had a task to fulfill. A task he needed to fulfill. He had to prove himself to everyone.
However, his distraction within his own thoughts caused him to drop his guard, which led to the young man to collide with something-- or someone.
A slight gasp escaped his lips as he staggered backwards, his eyes wide with fright.
"hermione what-- what are you doing here? this is the slytherin common room-- you shouldn't even be here. how'd you get in here?" (( ooc. hello my sweet hermione!! i've missed you dearly :'0 hope you don't mind this silly little starter *rolls away* ))
