I gave myself a cremation tattoo to honor my cat, Mini, who recently passed away. Her ashes are in the ink. It was hard to do because I got very emotional, and I had to do it one-handed, but she'll always be with me now. The design is my original. She had a little alien meow sound she made so we called her our Alien Kitty. Rest in Peace Mini. This was the hardest set of pieces for me to make. I lost my 13 year old cat, Mini, to an unknown illness recently. We just got her ashes back yesterday and I bawled all day. My husband, one of the most amazing men I've ever known, took me to pick out an unusual type of urn for her while I cried in the store. I didn't know if I was going to be able to make these pieces. Tears were selling up in my eyes as I opened the velvet bag she was now in. One of the things I loved a lot about her is her toe beans. She loved it when I stuck my fingers in between them. She would stretch them out and purr. I wanted to make something that really reminded me of her. So here is a paw print necklace with touchable toe beans. It's like I can really feel her. We are absolutely heartbroken. This is Mini. She's our 13 year old baby kitty. She lost her month-long battle with an unknown illness yesterday. It was such a hard decision to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge, but her quality of life was diminishing by the day. I am going to take a bit of a break from my pieces to grieve. I haven't been posting my recent pieces because I've been focused on my sweet girl. I will post the pieces I've been working on over the last month soon. Memorial pieces are not always cremation pieces. My client asked me if I could make something beautiful out of her grandmother-in-law's signature for her father -in-law to wear to her funeral. All she had to work with was writing on a birthday card and a picture that she adores of the two of them. We came up with putting her signature in cufflinks for him to wear, and a keychain for him to keep with him always. This orb was made from funeral flowers to honor my client's grandfather. They gave me a gorgeous sunflower and a beautiful carnation to create this piece to honor him. I don't use live flowers very often because they have to be dried properly for a month before I can even think about touching them to be able to keep the colors vibrant.
