just realized i never made this clear on tumblr: a person’if (pronounced person then if) is the collective i personify and personif is shortening for personification and synonymous with avatar. THE PERSON’IF IS THE SENTIENT ONE AND EXISTS EXCEPT FOR THE AVATAR IRL

the gender identity of a person'if without an attribute gender is distinctive and influential enough on my own it warrants a flag. the words are person'ifgender generally, 'ifgender if it's a human, and normgender if it's a person'if for reasons that will become clear. to be clear, 'ifgender people are not necessarily alterhuman or even drag person'ifs, and for now they only exist in person'ifverse, though you're welcome to change that.

it encapsulates all genders and presentations of such that the semidividual or one of the human's nesses considers normal. presentation at a given time is dependent on the gender association of whatever the personin is doing. different presentations are not considered to be a shift in identity, only different facets of something consistent. gender identity is not separately categorized from the rest of the personin's identity; if california was asked what gender they were they'd reply that they were californian.

on semidividuals, it's not inherently queer, but may contextually be if their gender norms are significantly different from the consensus of their neighbors or if they were assigned an attribute gender at founding. on individuals it qualifies.

the natural lifespan of a fandom is unlimited. when well tended a fandom can be functionally immortal. and yet everywhere you look you see newly bred fandoms withering and dying when they’re barely a year old. barely even six months old. fans are looking at their six month old fandoms and saying i think it’s on its last legs, should i euthanise it? when with the proper care that fandom could outlive them for decades. it’s sad. sad state of affairs we’re in.

would using face generators like this person does not exist for reference images be ethical? the face and body of a person'if avatar at any given moment is essentially random (within the faces and bodies of their people) and i don't really trust myself to choose it because i know i won't actually be random because, like everyone else's, my subconscious is racist in ways i'm not aware of. so forcing myself to reload the page once and take whatever comes up seems like a good way to bypass that. i am aware the ai generator is also racist for the same reason i'm racist but it will be less racist because it won't know the situation i'm trying to draw the avatar in, so it can't be affected by my thoughts about what kind of face would most likely appear in that situation.

this obviously only applies to large international organizations and racially diverse polities whose possible appearances can be modeled as basically random; person'ifs who are majority a specific ethnicity (or are an ethnicity) will have avatars who look like that ethnicity and i will continue looking at real pictures of people of that ethnicity to reference.

i've also considered making a series of wheels for race/gender/age/body type with the chance of landing on each possibility within the category taken from the person'if's actual demographic percentages when possible, and looking for references from there. this would be even better for getting accurate variability (and i could even model internal bias by skewing the percentages if i decide i want to do that), but also more time consuming.

yes actually there is still internal bias in the vague sampling mechanism, which does respond to the situation, because a person'if avatar's purpose is to create collective identity and demonstrate normative behavior. the reason i still want to take my own bias out of the picture is that, especially considering that almost all the person'ifs i design are fictional, my bias might not be the same as their bias. i want their sampling to accurately reflect their bigotry, not mine.

the other problem is that none of these ideas for outsourcing my racism reflect the person'if avatar tendency to overrepresent faces and bodies closest to average, because the sampling mechanism never looks at just one person at a time; it averages all the people all the time, it's just that some people randomly (caveated) get weighted more heavily than others. also, tangentially, people find faces closest to average more beautiful than faces further from average.

i will clarify that personifsong isn't background noise made meaningful, it's actual music with beat and rhythm. rhythm is a very person'if thing, music and dance have been ritual fortification since forever, music gets to you emotionally in a way little else does, when you sync with a group's rhythm you process your rhythm *as their rhythm*. personifsong is as universal as fortification, even for Deaf person'ifs, who can get the beat fine through their other senses
