That had to be one of the most vague explanations she’s ever heard. It was tempting to push it further, to dig around in his business a little more, but she resisted. Instead, Dani let out a sigh as she finally finished up, drying her hands one last time on her damp shorts.

“Ah-- well, I hope you can figure out a comfortable solution soon.”

She moved to the other end of the kitchen where the doorway to the laundry room led. Digging out a couple of extra blankets, one being a fluffed up comforter, she came back through the kitchen. The stack went over her head, making her blindly wonder her way into the living room. Thankfully, she managed to not embarrass herself by running into anything. “Right, so here’s a couple of blankets. Let me know if you want anymore.”

Yeah, that kinda made sense. Whoever owned that land would be shit out of luck if there was a ghost story attached to it. Dani’s back was mostly turned towards him as she made herself busy, slowly nodding along to show she was still listening.

“Another job watching a place after dark? So I guess you’re a fellow night owl, then.” She hummed, smiling to herself.

A question came to mind, but she struggled to form it on her lips. It was sort of invasive to ask, but seeing as he was a guest in her home, it wouldn’t hurt to ask. “So….how’d you end up sleeping outside of Freddy’s like you did? You look like an escapee,” she chuckled, not realizing the truth to the joke.

“Yeah, I never really slept that much.” At the escapee comment, he laughed darkly. “Oh, it was a hassle leaving. The police still don’t like me very much.” It was hard to tell if he was joking or not.

“See, they won’t let me back into my house so I don’t really have anywhere to go. I… didn’t really have a long term plan…”

At the slightly haunting sound of his laugh, her movements stilled for a moment. But quickly picked back up like nothing happened, though her shoulders seemed more tense.

“You get evicted or what?” Her tone was less joking, a light ring of seriousness in the back of her throat. It was a hassle leaving-- where?

The Security Guard With a Hard Head (Closed)

Despite the current situation, Dani could feel her cheeks burn at the slight touches against the side of her head. She wasn’t quite sure what to think of that, so she decided to pretend like she didn’t notice. Instead, she focused on not dropping his ass on the way out to the car.

As gently as she could manage, she let him down into the back seat and stepped back. “Don’t worry about it, sir.” She wasn’t sure what to do now, interlocking her fingers over her apron and glancing nervously up at Scott.

“Uh- If it’s cool, let me know how it goes? Like- if Mike’s alright or whatever.”

The redhead scrambled to pull out the small white box, popping it open for Scott to grab out whatever he needed. “Yeah, here-”

Not wanting to get in the way or interrupt, Dani couldn’t help but raise a questioning eyebrow at the couple’s odd conversation. What did the animatronic bear have to do with this? Yeah, she noticed Mike was checking over Freddy’s insides before he fell, but she couldn’t imagine it could have done anything to cause the fall. Maybe Freddy had a little malfunction and jerked his body, knocking the stool off the stage and Mike with it? It was the only logical reasoning she could come up with.

The idea of a haunted and vengeful animatronic certainly wasn’t at the forefront of her mind.

“Ah, thank you.” Scott takes the roll of bandages from the box, and begins wrapping Mike’s head in order to stop the bleeding. In this process, he removes the blue hair tie keeping Mike’s beloved ponytail in, letting the brunet’s hair fall freely. The hair tie is safely placed around Scott’s wrist.

“Ah, Dani, could you– could you bring Mike out to my car for me? I’ll lead you, and get him t-to a hospital.” Given Scott’s thin, lanky physique, it would clearly be a struggle for Scott to lift Mike himself.

The server simply nodded, putting the first aid box away once Scott had everything he needed. She waited quietly for him to patch Mike up before squatting down in front of the cot.

“Come on, bud--”

Dani gently took his hand and draped it over her shoulder, pulling him forward and against her back. It was a whole lot easier carrying him this way instead of the clumsy half bridal style she went with before. Hefting him up, she turned back to Scott. “Alright, boss. After you.”
