*whispers* Mun will be online as soon as sheās finished writing her essay.
Female Representation in Snow White and Frozen. Hooo Boy. Fun times in 2000 words.
"You can't have done anything that bad."
Hyacinth almost physically leapt, and he certainly fell face-first from the mushroom he had been sitting on. For a moment he looked bewildered at the tulip heād been confiding in, but his glow soon tinged with red when he realised somebody must have overheard him.He picked himself up, dusting off his petals and looking around in worry before his eyes landed on his visitor.
āA-ah, um⦠I-Iād fly backwards, I⦠I d-didnāt know anybody was a-around.ā
Terence smiled from atop the reed stem he had alighted upon. His glow was warm. His wings twitched. He hadnāt meant to listen in, not really. But Terence liked to like people,Ā and Dust-talents were not naturally ones to announce themselves.
"I can come back later.ā he said.
In truth, Terence never quite knew how to approach the Garden-talent. He was hardly known for any great bravery himselfā unless the topic turned to Tinkā and Hyacinthās nervous buzzing put Terence oddly on edge. It was as if he constantly expected to see hawks. To Terence, whose head was very often too full of Tinkerbell to think of these things, it was unnerving. Fairies took one emotion at a time, and they concentrated it.
Tinker Bell - Concept Art
OUAT Headcanon
Living in post-curse-breaking Storybrooke, Terence is a far more subdued and solemn man than he has ever been. Although he tries to maintain his cheerful and carefree demeanour, human thinking simply keeps getting in the way. Heās too big now to contain just the one emotion; he can experience anxiety, worry, loss, the complexities of uncertainty.Ā
In Storybrooke, Terence is also unable to practise his Talent. Supplies of Pixie dust are sparse at best, and kept closely guarded by the dwarves. Terence isnāt even allowed near the mines, and this simple fact is slowly driving him to distraction. He has no dust (a dire circumstance for any dust-talent) and he has no wings. And worst of all, he has no Tinkerbell, whom he worries about every day.Ā
Terence will never admit it, but he hates Storybrooke, as new and rusty the concept of hate is to the former-fairy. Even without the false memories of Dilon Swift, Terence has started to sink deeper and deeper into his faith, and into his duties as a trainee priest. Often they serve as his only distraction from what the curse took from him, and Terence will gladly welcome it.

Storybrooke had been hit by another sporadic shower in so many days. Springwas on itās way. And on the coast, it was determined to make itās presence known. Chill winds swept down main street, tugging at shop signs. Small waves jostled amongst themselves in the harbour, rocking at fishing boats, and lapping under the jetty boards; a pre-curser to a much larger storm.Ā
Terence drew his coat tighter around himself and hurried along. The small slip of white at his throat was particularly noticeable today, set against the grey backdrop of everything else. Heād forgotten his umbrella, and was still a good mile or so from the monastery. He wouldnāt get back in time if the rain decided to hit Storybrooke any harder.
Terence had never considered it before--and didnāt like to-- but now, stuck outside on his own, he couldnāt help it. He thought of how small the raindrops felt on the back of his neck. How light. How insignificant. Back home, one badly timed cloudburst could have swept away an entire crowd of fairies. But now it barely dampened his hair.
Even the weather here was strange. Unfamiliar. Clumsy.Ā It made Terence ache.
((Mun should be online in a short while! Tempted to throw out some OUAT based open starters, for the hell of it. ))

āFly with you, Avery!ā Terence alighted a short distance from the clapping-talent, his glow warm and welcoming. A satchel of fairy dust was been slung neatly over one shoulder, and Terence held onto it tightly as he flew. Every grain inside was precious, whatever it might be used for eventually. Dust-talents took every aspect of their work very seriously indeed.

Terence peered out from beneath a wide oak-leaf as the Clumsy passed by. Heād never seen one this big before. Aside from the Lost Boys, Terence hadnāt really seen a clumsy at all. Not a fully grown one. And never this close up. His wings quivered.Ā
Was this the Clumsy Tink didnāt like? The Home-tree was abuzz with talk about Peterās new Wendy-bird. If so, Terence was torn. Tinkerbell had a habit of straight bluntness. And whilst Terence found it every bit as enchanting as the rest of her, some fairies found it offputting. Tink had a sharp tongue, and an even sharper way of seeing things. Her moods could last for days, and her grudges even longer. But Terence trusted her judgement before anything else.
Terence didnāt like to think ill of anyone. But...well...if Tink didnāt like this Wendy-bird Clumsy...should he?

Half tempted to make a film verse, but a film verse where Terence is a different Terence to the Terence we have in the film? It just might be fun to have a Terence set in Film-lore?

Terence stumbled once, before managing to hold his balance on the branch. Heflattened his wings tight against his back, so that they didnāt catch the windagain and blow him back into the air. Terence steadied himself against the trunk, glad of the shelter it provided, and tried to catch his breath. Never-faeries never said such things as āPleaseā or āThank youā, but the Sparrow man gave Vidia a red-faced little nod of gratitude.
"You know what Iām doing," he replied, as evenly as he could, and dutifully held the satchel away from her. Every fairy had to be given their cup of dust each day. One cup, no more, no less. It was the Dust-talentās job to deliver these amounts, regardless of the weather. And usually the weather didnāt give them such hassle.
Vidiaās lips curled upward, although it hardly resembled a smile, looking more like a predator sneering upon its prey than anything else. She stepped back onto the branch, her wings flapping quickly to keep herself steadied against the wind.
āAh- of course, deliveries,ā she cooed in a condescending voice, shaking her head across at Terence. Although the fast flyer was aware that dust keepers did in fact have an important job, especially for someone like her that enjoyed flying above all else, complimenting others on their talents was not in her nature.
āSpeaking of which, Terence darling,ā she continued, her gaze shifting to the dust pouch. āI have yet to receive mine ā¦flying a bit behind schedule today, are we?ā
Terence refused to let himself rise to the bait, but his glow darkened. A fairy didnāt like to be criticised on their talent, not when it was so very important to them. He didnāt smile. Terence might not have been as blunt as Tinkerbell, or even as forthright as most other Never-faeries. But he showed his distaste in other ways.
āYouāre not on my list, Vidia.ā he replied. This was a lie; Dust-talents needed lists as much as Cooking-talents needed recipes. Terence knew the names and talents of every fairy he was to deliver to this morning. But Vidia was the very definition of a dust-liability, and Terence drew back at the thought of giving her even a handful. Sheād stolen from the mill before; sheād stolen Mother Doveās feathers.Ā Vidia was perhaps unique in Terenceās sternness towards her. Any other fairy might not even have recognised him. Dust was important.
