Runs 28, 29, and 30
Hey ya'll. Life has been busy. Busy enough that I took a week off from running and let me tell you that I DO NOT recommend that. My week off was spent sitting in the go live command center for 14+ hours a day in front of a computer. I SHOULD have gotten out and run, but I made excuses not to, and I really paid for it on my first "getting back into running" run.
On Thursday - I ventured out and ran in Meadowmont. It was difficult, and I struggled, but I kept a 12'30'' or so pace. I was happy with the pace, but frustrated with myself for walking so often. Then - motivating myself to run this weekend while in VA for family Easter festivities was not easy. I kept putting it off, from Saturday afternoon, to Saturday evening - and then finally I woke up early on Sunday before Easter services and somehow made it 3.1 miles. It wasn't a great run - but I was proud of myself for doing it. I've decided I need a little push and so I decided to start a Nike Training program with the Nike Running app. The app makes a plan for me, and tells me what kind of exercise to do each day of the week - I think I kind of need that right now.. a little something different. And you know what? My run tonight felt great and it made me happy. Except for the first 3 minutes when I walked, I ran for the entire 5K, alternating between 4.7 and 5.5 mph. It was really nice.
Onward and Upward and thank god for good music

Checking in for Runs 21-27
Hi Everyone!
I'ts been a crazy/busy couple of weeks - really in the best ways. At the health system where I'm currently working we were gearing up for go live, then I took a quick weekend away for a friend's birthday weekend, and then I was back in Kingsport to support the Go Live.
Lots of 12-14 hour shifts in a row leaves me pretty tired. I have been doing my best to get my runs in. I got two runs in, one on each of my days off, and plan to get 2-3 more in this week. We'll see what I can do.
It's finally getting to be Springtime here and it makes me so happy to walk outside to sunny, breezy days. After this winter - I think we're all ready for a bit of a break.
Last Sunday, I did my first ever "trail" run around a Lake at Bays Mountain Park (Run 25!). Let me tell you - I understand why people like to run on trails. Besides the fact that I felt there was a good chance I would slip and roll down a hill into the lake - it was so nice to be outside, and running through a forest. I was never bored with my surroundings, and it was the most peaceful run I've ever had.
I've been staying pretty steady with my times. After taking a bit of a break this week and not running Monday-Wednesday, my Thursday run was slower than I liked but tonight's run was pretty steady at 5.4 mph and I finished in just under 36 minutes. That made me happy. I do want to improve my time, but during this go live, I can't devote the time I'd like to doing that. My goal for the next couple of weeks is to keep running so that when I get out of this crazy phase, I can push begin pushing myself to improve my times.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for caring. Thanks for those of you advocating for me silently, and for those of you who check in regularly with encouragements. It means more than you know.

Run 24 (You'll notice that this is only a picture of 1.7 miles. The other 1.4 miles were not documented because while running, I accidentally pulled the emergency stop cord. That was an interesting experience, It doesn't feel great to be in your groove and then have to stop suddenly.)
