THROWBACKS
It’s the kind of tragedy where,
The love was there.
It didn’t change anything.
It didn’t save anyone.
There were just too many forces against it.
But it was still there.
It matters that the love was there.
Kas the Bloody-Handed was the vampire lieutenant of Vecna and the original wielder of the Sword of Kas. After years of loyal service to Vecna, he became Kas the Betrayer. It is said that the sword itself whispered to Kas, convincing him to slay his master and usurp his power.
no eddie graduating. no eddie meeting jonathan and argyle and getting high with them. no eddie bonding with will and taking him under his wing. no eddie bothering steve and robin at their job. no eddie.
STRANGER THINGS S4, Chapter Eight: Papa
Can I just point something tiny out? The Green vest thing in the blue bag that Steve bought for Eddie 👁️👁️ yeah.. That's all. We can see eddie wearing it too during the upside down stuff
Also the Duffers keep making characters that are perfectly redeemable sacrifice themselves for the greater good and it's honestly getting annoying and repetitive.
Eddie didn't deserve to die. This guy came from a broken home (he literally told Steve his dad taught him how to steal cars???) and his uncle was quite literally his only source of emotional support. He was struggling with school and he was selling drugs to make a living. He deserved to goddamn graduate. He deserved a better life. He deserved to have his reputation cleaned. But instead the writers had him sacrifice his life for a town that literally saw him as a satanic, homicidal monster. And the fact that he didn't die saving anyone makes it even worse, like. At least Billy died saving El. But Eddie? He was alone. He died a tragic death and for what? Oh, because he was a cOwArD and needed to have a bravery moment? Gimme a fucking break.
And speaking of Billy. He was an asshole, yes thank you, but he also came from a broken home. He was an abused teenager who had been abandoned by his mother when he was still a child and he was quite literally still living under the same roof as his abuser, who constantly hit him, called him slurs and forced him to do things he didn't want to do, at the time of his possession. Having him actively acknowledge his wrongdoings, make amendments and verbally apologize to Max, Steve and Lucas would have been a better redemption. It would have also taught people a lesson, it would have taught abuse victims that there is life after the abuse, but no. They killed him off and now he's seen (both by the audience and the creators) as one of the most evil villains in the show.
So apparently according to the Duffers, abuse victims don't deserve a second chance. Teenagers with shitty home lives and dysfunctional families don't deserve to live. Outcasts are irredeemable.
Troubled teenagers who are trying to navigate life are depicted as disposable plot devices in this show, yet they also tried to make us feel sad about Brenner's death, a man who actively partook in child exploitation, kidnapping and abuse, amongst other illegal and immoral things for decades? Bruh.

ALWAYS REBLOG WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS PLEASE; ITS SO MUCH MORE THAN IMPORTANT TO PEOPLE. IT MEANS EVERYTHING TO SOMEBODY AND EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT NOT SEE THIS IN THE SAME LIGHT, SOMEONE MIGHT. INFACT YOU REBLOGGING THIS COULD STOP SOMEONE TAKING THEIR LIFE TONIGHT.
I noticed there isn’t one here for Ireland, so
Irish free suicide helpline: 01-116 123
last time i reblogged this, i got this ask:
so please, please reblog. this could actually save a life.
There was an arrest across the street from my place in Oakland one day – three cop cars with a bullhorn and guns out – and before I could even get out the gate there were a couple people posted up and one of them was filming and another one was narrating in a calm but very loud voice, just
“HE IS COOPERATING! HIS HANDS ARE EMPTY! HE IS DOING WHAT HE IS TOLD TO DO! HE IS HOLDING STILL! HIS HANDS ARE EMPTY! HE IS NOT BEING THREATENING! HE HAS PUT HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS HEAD AS ASKED! HE IS NOT RESISTING!”
and that was something I hadn’t thought to do before. It certainly let the cops know what the narrative of eye witnesses was going to be.
I especially liked “his hands are empty” because this statement would still be true and a witnessed reason the police should not become violent even if it turned out he had a weapon on his person somewhere.
I see people in NYC stop and record a lot. Even if they are just being nosey, that’s still witnesses if shit goes down.
We must be vigilant. The New Solidarity. You might just save a fellow human being.
If you don’t feel comfortable with doing the narrating thing (which really is quite clever), even just standing around and blatantly staring actually legit helps immensely.
There are studies that show that even an image of someone looking can be effective to change people’s behaviours.
Sidenote: If you see a cop stopping an Indigenous person, the same protocol applies.
