Festivals = may Peryahan

I miss the peryahan. So much. I have never went into one since I was very little and this year, I got the chance to revisit one and recollect memories. I very much remember eating cheese popcorn and pinoy hotcake accompanied by mango shake. Not eating any of these inside the peryahan will not complete the experience. I also recalled the thrill of riding a squeaky Ferris wheel. This time though, I didn’t get to ride one.

I tried looking for a boy named Magnifico. It was harder than I thought, as here were very many people. Loud screams from the Viking and Twister are heard. The Bingo announcer was blasting music on his speakers.

Everywhere there are people throwing coins on games that give shrimp snack and mugs as prizes. They shoot toy soldiers and rubber ducks. They throw small rings on bottles of soda and tanduay.

The adults are happy.

The children are happy.

Everybody was smiling while playing in the peryahan.

Maybe I didn’t need to find Magnifico at all. Magnifico was everywhere.
