For my last project I wanted to utilize an old piece. I made this frame some time ago, and added the leathers and wire to it. I was going to throw it away but then I saw how it is a rustic look and I wanted to draw something on it. That’s how I got the inspiration to draw an agave field with a worker this is a classic image of Mexico and I love to portray my culture in my work.

Over the pandemic I learned to make boba because I was wasting a lot of money on it. I got to a point that I can probably compete with the boba stores. My performance art isn’t so meaningful as other but it something I enjoy to make and drink.

Not going to lie, this video really makes my stomach turn! Although I would never personally partake in any high intense sport like this, it is a great project idea! The peaceful, yet upbeat song really adds to the thrilling activity all these people are doing. The variety of clips keeps it interesting and honestly it kinda looks like and reminds me of an ad specifically for cliff diving! Great job!

this is so dope!! I love the moments of tension right before they jump! I’m doing a night time bungee jump this summer, and your video got me so stoked for it lol. naked base jumping is a whole other level ahaha. great work!

I really like this one a lot. I feel like you captured a really fun feeling with it all, and to have it contrasted by the very slow and relaxing song is great. I feel like you did a great job keeping the whole video feel cohesive despite the multiple clips.

Beyonce the GOAT

With the conclusion of Women’s History month, I dreamed it necessary to dedicate this super cut to Beyoncé Knowles Carter, who made history this past February as the most Grammy winning female in history.

Beyonce has made in appearance in several of my projects this semester so it is no surprise that I am a stan.

I wanted to dedicate this to Beyonce for more reasons that me just being a fan, however. In order to make history and accomplish all that she has during her 20+ year, requires a work ethic that most do not posses.

Furthermore, Beyonce has transformed into more than just a recording artist. She is a philanthropist, activist, and feminist. She is also a pillar in the Black community for more reasons than I can explain.

She is a class act and deserves to go down in history.

This is a great supercut and is obviously about a celebrity you are inspired by. Seeing all her biggest accomplishments compiled in one video shows how talented she is, and how much warranted attention she has received throughout the years. I really like how even though she’s gotten older and some of the clips are many years apart, she is still receiving awards and getting recognition for her work!

I think you did a great job on this video. It is a great concept and a great execution. I particularly like how you chose to end the video with not just another award but Beyonce talking about it.

Performance Art reading response #2

I didn’t know there's was so much history with art performance, it’s interesting to see how it started and how it has evolve. It’s hard to imagine performance not being acceptable. Also found it interesting seeing how performance looked over the years and how it was interpertive. I found it interesting to learned Leonardo da Vinci perform some of his art.

Perfoermance for me is a medium I shy away from mostly becasue I cna get shy and anxious but I will wish I can get it to a more comftarble level

performance art reading response #1

the reading was interesting, but kind of Disturbing, the fact that they were brought around lake animals as an act or to show off. but in a way I kind of understand their message beggin it. they were inspire by the actual Exhibition of Native Americans and Indigenous people from Africa, in zoos.

its weird to imagine people being shown off as an exibition, this trend was fisrt started off with Christopher columbus which makes sence, but still that’s so cringy that they would do that. the last one they mention was in 1992 which wasn’t so long ago

To me the butterfly signifies my family’s migration story. Just like the monarch butterfly we traveled from Mexico to California. It’s a story of many immigrant parents, they come here to give a better life to their kids, to have a better job and to be sending money back to their own families. Sameee the butterfly represents the work and sacrifice that my parents stayed to help me be in a better country and have a better life than they did. I’m always appreciate it with everything that they do and they’ve done for me and my brother hand it’s similar to many other first generation students. To us our certificate isn’t just for us it’s for our family too.
