Mike realizes he’s in love with Will and they have shared secret moments together but Mike is still terrified of the idea of being openly gay which does hurt Will. Then they go to college, years pass and they don’t talk as much and they’ve gone into adulthood. But Mike calls Will one day, he calls to say he’s getting married (to a woman) and he’s still letting his parents influence him despite loving Will. And so Will just whispers “Will” over and over and then hangs up.
