hello hi yes I am still obsessed with @spire-pod yes this is them
Alright I know I never use this blog but I have gotten obsessed with @spire-pod and I need a place to talk about my feelings about the characters and theories because I am nearly hyper fixated and there’s nobody to talk to about it!!
I was listening to the end of the second episode again and it struck me as strange that when Felix presumably is experiencing a temporal slip, we hear a lot of glitching and static. It’s similar to the static we hear in the opening theme and at points throughout the show, and it made me wonder if there was more going on. Having gone back and listened to the trailer, I’m now convinced that the truth is that Spire is either not real and/or some kind of experiment.
There are a couple things that suggest it from the episodes released so far, but mostly it comes down to the full trailer and the episode titles. Take the title of episode one aka “The Butterfly Dream”. Based on the episode description and some googling, it’s clear that it is a reference to a poem about reality and not knowing if we are real or figments of someone else’s imagination.
Along with this the trailer starts with a yet unnamed character stating “So I shall suppose that some malicious, powerful, cunning demon has done all he can to deceive me. I shall think that the sky, the air, the earth, colors, shapes, sounds and all external things are merely dreams”. This is strongly hinting that something about Spire isn’t real/the characters are being fooled by some external force.
This might be because Spire is a simulation. Other future episode titles hint at this too, such as ‘The Game Of Life’ which is very literally a reference to a simulation made to replicate life, and "The Thirteenth Floor", which is the title of a film about being trapped in a simulation.
I might be completely hitting the wrong mark here lol, but if I’m at least a little bit correct I’m VERY excited to see where the show goes.

hi, ive just remade a tumblr so looking for new friends and recommendations. does anyone have any sci fi or futuristic audio drama recommendations with subtly queer or trans characters? i don't really want the story to be about their quietness and it doesn't have to have romance, but i do want at least a few queer/trans characters.
putting this in the tags of some shows i like!
