one more day left of menswear shows and then believe or not, but i’m free until september— no more fashion weeks, no more photo shoots, and besides the occasional stint in my dad’s office my calendar is pretty much clear. which means that i’m starting to make plans of what kind of fun i can get up to for the next month, maybe i deserve a vacation?

For my daughter’s daycare’s annual fundraiser, they’ve decided they’re holding a date auction. Let’s set aside the fact that that’s got to be the least appropriate idea I’ve ever heard and talk about the fact that apparently it’s mandatory that I participate as one of the few single dads in the class. I’m pretty sure this is not what I signed up for. All I wanted was a place where she could colour and fingerpaint with kids her own age a few times a week. Apparently, I’ve just got to turn up and look pretty. I’m pretty sure I hate all of this.

     Erik leaned on the table, a hand running through his hair as he let out an audible sigh. Hazel eyes watched his boyfriend as he skimmed over the paperwork Nick had left him with. He couldn’t deny that he liked the idea of having a brother, it wasn’t anything he’d thought about before, but now that he was appearing at his door with paperwork… he didn’t want this shit to be fake. “I KNOW, Harry… I know.” He let out a huff, thinking over what Harry had offered for a moment before shrugging. “Yeah, I–I guess. If you don’t mind. That’s probably the smart thing to do, huh?”      He looked at one of the papers on the table, eyes glancing over it and really, he couldn’t be 100% sure what he was looking at. “It’d be kinda cool… having a brother.”

Harry had to stop for a moment to think through what he was going to say before he spoke. He didn’t want to say anything insensitive, but this whole situation seemed incredibly fishy to him. If this guy had known about Erik, why had it taken so long for him to find him. He hoped that this was everything that it appeared to be, but he was skeptical, didn’t this kind of thing only happen in lifetime movies? "I’ll get someone on it tonight. Listen, this guy is not only coming into your life, but he’s coming into mine by making himself known. I want to make sure that we’re not in harms way, especially because apparently he knows where we fucking live. That’s not at all creepy.”

He placed the papers down and went to stand by the others side. “I know it would, but... I think it’s best you don’t get ahead of yourself and start imagining some perfect scenario before we find out that this is all what it seems to be. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
