so much of the mischaracterization of leon and ada comes from people fetishizing them and making them fit to “their idea” of who they should be because they think they’re hot. they are, but they’re hot and have complex personalities beyond physical appeal.

if leon is married it is not to ada. it’s either claire or some character they reveal completely separate in later games. its so obvious that leon and ada have chemistry, yes, but they’re too different to remotely work in a relationship. they talk abt it in RE4 when Leon says he’s changed, and Ada says he hasn’t. he just thinks he’s changed. maybe he’s gotten new experiences, sees the world differently, but at his core he’s the same. in some ways he’s still the rookie cop he was in 2. he cares about people, he cares about the greater good, he cares about helping people as much as possible to the best of his abilities. that’s probably why he’s 49 still working for the DSO. he’s a very morally compelling character who cares strongly about those morals. Ada is very self interested. not to say she’s a bad person or a bad character, but she works for herself, and serves herself. she is selfish (or she at least was the last time we saw her). that doesn’t mean she can’t do selfless things, or she’s immoral, but she doesn’t think of people the way leon does. at the end of the day, they clash too much. their core values completely contradict one another especially if they both are still working in their respective field. it would cause so many issues between them.
