Andrew isn't quite sure how it happened. First, you just hung around with Deran, and he always thought you seemed far too sweet to be around rough guys like Deran and Craig. He found himself hanging around whenever he knew you were coming, just so he could keep an eye on you, okay? He needed to make sure no one tried to corrupt that sweet, soft personality of yours.
You being you, it didn't take long for you to notice him always hanging around. Took even less time for you to introduce yourself to him, and start sparking up conversation whenever you came around.
And you call him Andy. Andy. How is he supposed to keep his head screwed on straight, when you give him sweet little nicknames? It didn't take long for him to ask you out, really. What better way to keep you safe, than to keep you close to him?
"Andy, come look at this!" You squealed from somewhere in the house, which had him getting up immediately. His joints clicked a little at the movement, but he wasted no time in locating you.
And he found you on the patio. Throwing little bits of bread on the lawn a few feet ahead.
"What are you...oh." His own question was answered, as he spotted three deer stood on your shared lawn, happily snacking on the small bread bits you were throwing for them.
Your wide smile met his gaze, your body practically buzzing from excitement, "Isn't that the cutest thing ever, Andy? They're so cute. I wish I could pet them."
Seeing the wishful look in your eyes, Andrew had half a mind to just grab one of the deer and hold it still, so you could pet it. But he figured, that you wouldn't be very happy with him wrestling a deer.
"Hm." He grunted, lowering himself down to sit next to you on the patio, "Y'know, if you keep feedin' 'em..." He cleared his throat, fingers tapping together, "They're gonna keep coming back."
You set the loaf of bread down for a second, turning your head to look at him properly. The afternoon sun hit his hair perfectly, making the otherwise dark hair show off the natural auburn color hidden beneath. He'd once had his hair cut, but once he saw you pout at the loss of his curls, he didn't make that mistake again.
He loves cuddling up with you on the couch, feeling one of your perfect, soft, manicured hands reach up into his curls, gently playing with them.
"That's the plan." You hummed, continuing to rip little bits from the loaf, and gently tossing them on the lawn, "I'm gonna build a whole army of deer, hunny. I'm gonna be a real life Snow White, just befriending the forest."
He couldn't stop the small smile quirking up the corners of his lips. You didn't need deer as friends to be a princess. To him, you already were a princess, which is exactly how he treats you.
"...'S going to get cold soon." He nodded his head, watching the sun slowly starting to set, "Let's go inside, eat a little somethin', and then you let me take you to bed."
After a few more bits of bread, he managed to drag you inside, and get some food in you. The evening was filled with soft laughter and inside jokes, and Andrew could feel every muscle in his body loosen. It was moments like these, that made the hard moments in his life worth it.
The evening ended in the perfect way; with you wrapped around him like a koala, his nose buried in your hair, while his thick arms hugged you as close as possible, keeping you safe there, until morning.
