The minor discomfort of having one broken toe taped to a non-broken toe and walking around makes up for less pain than when you accidentally step wrong and your broken toe ain't taped to the other toe.

I hope to hell this retirement party isn't a surprise birthday party for the person I share a birthday with me myself. I'm not a party person in any way shape or form. And the only thing worse than being at one is being the focus of one.

In class today, Trump was somehow brought up and someone said that Trump was a neo-nazi and my professor was like, āTrump hasnāt ever said he was a neo-naziā and another kid said, āI was still gay before I started calling myself gay!ā and realized what he said and he looked just mortified but it was the greatest response to anything Iāve ever heard

We read lots of good disturbing shit in hs or in the writing groups I joined in hs but somehow the top of the heap for shit that haunted meās still indisputably Ethan CanināsĀ āThe Palace Thiefā. Itās not horror as such but it freaked me the fuck out.Ā
There was another O. Henry short story we read that was also really alarming but I had to google a major spoiler (which is also a warning) to recall the name ā āThe Furnished Roomā. Ā

@wiggle-boy If you ever have more than one at a time you are wasting your life if you don't say "ladies, ladies, one at a time please". LOL š

No sooner is the exploitation of the labourer by the manufacturer, so far, at an end, that he receives his wages in cash, than he is set upon by the other portions of the bourgeoisie, the landlord, the shopkeeper, the pawnbroker, etc.

I remember when being trans meant if you wanted to live as yourself, you had to up and leave your home and move to somewhere no one knew you. You had to cut ties with your family and every one you knew. Then you had to hope that no one in the new town you moved to figured it out or you would be onto the next one. That's why the bar for "passing" was so important. It was the difference between eating. It was the difference between being homeless. It was the difference between being accepted, not being abused, not ending up in an asylum, not ending up dead.
