Hey everyone! Happy SPF Sunday! Today, we’re diving into two standout products from @tizoskin
First up is the Tizo Tinted Moisturizer Serum, which offers a mineral-based SPF of 30 and provides long-lasting moisture. It’s generally safe for all skin types, though those with sensitive skin might want to patch-test first due to some ingredients.
Next, we have the Tizo3 Primer/Sunscreen Tinted. This product goes beyond just sun protection with an SPF of 40; it doubles as a makeup primer and is reef-safe, making it an excellent choice for eco-conscious individuals. Its gentle formulation is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Both products are great for those seeking effective sun protection without compromising on skincare. Enjoy your day and stay protected!
Choosing the right moisturiser for your skin type 🙌
With so many various formulas and ingredients out there in the skincare world, it can be quite daunting choosing a moisturiser that you’ll have to stick with day in, day out. Picking the wrong one can often make certain skin concerns worse, but finding your perfect match can also be a challenge.
So, let’s break it down:
Oily skin - If you have oily skin, it’s best to use an oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturiser to prevent clogging your pores or adding any more greasiness. Look for ingredients like silica to keep things lightweight and fresh all day. Here are some recommendations.
Dry skin - When it comes to dry skin, you need to keep your skin as soft and supple as you can to avoid any flakiness or tightness. Hyaluronic acid can be very beneficial in this regard, or try a facial oil at night for high-impact hydration. Check these different formulas out.
Sensitive skin - The most important thing when it comes to choosing a moisturiser for sensitive skin is not causing it any irritation. Therefore, ditch moisturisers with perfume or alcohol and choose gentle ingredients like thermal spring water instead. Here are some popular budget buys to try.
Acne-prone skin - While it may seem counterintuitive to moisturise acne-prone skin, it’s actually very important to do so. Skin can get dry and flaky due to blemish treatments and medications, so it’s best to keep on top of things before they get worse. Salicylic acid in a moisturiser can help unclog pores as well as hydrate your face. Take a look at these.
Fun Fact Friday - What is Hyaluronic Acid?🤓
If you’re looking to get hydrated, dewy-looking skin, chances are hyaluronic acid has been recommended to you a thousand times over. But what is it, and how can it help you achieve such a glow?
Hyaluronic acid is a type of sugar that is naturally produced by your body.
It’s mainly present in your skin - its job is to retain water to keep tissues moist.
It can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, meaning moisture is seriously attracted to it 💦
As a result, many skincare companies include it in their moisturisers’ ingredients list, to deliver instant nourishment straight onto the skin.
Don’t be frightened of its name - it isn’t actually an acid at all, so if you want softer, more radiant skin minus the irritation, then this is the one for you ✨

3 types of toner to try 👇
I’ve recently added toner back into my skincare regime, and now I’m using it again I wonder why I ever pushed it to the sidelines in the first place. But there are many different varieties to try so which one is best for your skin type? Here are 3 examples to check out 😎
1. AHA toner
A toner including AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids, such as salicylic acid) work hard to clean clogged pores and tackle breakouts head on. This type of toner penetrates deeply into your skin to flush your pores and keep them spot-free. As a result, pores often look smaller as no nasties are prevented from building up inside them.
Plus, a toner helps to whisk away any lingering make-up or impurities that your cleanser might have left behind. So it’s a great way to ensure you have squeaky clean skin to stop more breakouts from coming.
2. Calming toner
Alternatively, if you have sensitive, irritated skin, try a calming toner (look for ingredients such as rosewater or cucumber). Using a toner after your cleanser helps to level out your skin’s PH balance and brings a natural balance back to stressed-out complexions. If your skin is particularly delicate then it might be worth using a toner instead of your cleanser until your skin gets its mojo back.
Some people believe that the use of a toner has even helped with their rosacea, so try one out and see if redness reduces over time.
3. Hydrating toner
Lastly, a toner is absolutely crucial in maintaining normal moisture levels in your skin if you suffer from dryness. I’ve recently added a retinol product into my skincare regime and using a toner alongside it definitely helps to keep potential dryness at bay. Look for ingredients like glycerin as this is great at combating dryness right from the start.
Also, a hydrating toner helps to prep your skin for your moisturiser. Having slightly damp skin actually enables your skin to drink in any moisture more efficiently.
So swipe on that toner and reap all these amazing benefits 👏
