… it feels there’s still something inside. It’s such a weird feeling.

Just got back from a work trip to Salt Lake City. It was very beautiful, but the air was incredibly dry and my lips were in agony. I had a lot of fun working with the team there, but I’m happy to be back in Oregon. I don’t think my tropical little self can handle any less than coastal humidity.
At the store, I met another Jessica who could have been my slightly older twin. She had medium length black hair and baby bangs which she twisted into a topknot while working, hapa features peppered with freckles, and wore tons of interesting textured layers -- though her style was much more refined than mine. I thought she was really nice and very pretty. Meeting her gave me a little boost of confidence and something to aspire to in regards to my layering.
Aside from meeting my doppelganger, the most life-changing thing that happened was on the plane ride back. Even though I’ve been flying since I was less than a year old, I’ve always been scared to look out the window during takeoffs and landings. On the way back to Oregon, I discovered that if I pretend to be Kiki -- riding my broom through the sky with Enoki on the back and my radio on the handle -- I can manage all the jolts and bumps and the ride suddenly becomes very exciting. I’m looking forward to listening to rouge no dengon as I fly over the sea on my trip home next month.

When did you last die? What gets you out of bed in the morning? What became of your childhood dreams? What sets you apart from everyone else? What is missing from your life? Do you think that everyone can be an artist? Where do you come from? Do you find your lot an enviable one? What have you given up? What do you do with your money? What household task gives you the most trouble? What are your favourite pleasures? What would you like to receive for your birthday? Cite three living artists whom you detest. What do you stick up for? What are you capable of refusing? What is the most fragile part of your body? What has love made you capable of doing? What do other people reproach you for? What does art do for you? Write your epitaph. In what form would you like to return?
