ohyeahuknationalparks: If there were romance novels for ponies…
New Forest National Park
enchantedengland: ……..it would be seriously disturbing, that is what it would be. Although I must say this pony does have VERY soulful eyes. And I must promote ohyeahuknationalparks because it is an excellent site and I am all about saving the woodland. I am practically a hamadryad that is how much I love a tree.
Now the New Forest National Park isn’t actually new, since it was created by William the Conqueror in 1079 for the pursuit of Beasts of the Chase- namely red, roe, fallow deer and wild pig- but it has only been a National Park since 2005. This large area of heathland and forest covers south-west Hampshire, extends into south-east Wiltshire, and trails off towards east Dorset and this is just the time of year to visit.
